Logistics Regression Model on Antenna Control Unit Autotracking Mode

ITC/USA 2015 Conference Proceedings / The Fifty-First Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 26-29, 2015 / Bally's Hotel & Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV / Over the past several years DoD imposed constraints on test deliverables, requiring objective measures of test results, i.e., statistically defensible test and evaluation (SDT&E) methods and results. These constraints force testers to employ statistical hypotheses, analyses and modeling to assess test results objectively, i.e., based on statistical metrics, analytical methods, probability of confidence complemented by, rather than solely on expertise, which is too subjective. In this and companion papers we discuss methods of objectifying testing. We employ an earth coordinate model and statistical modeling of telemetry (TM) tracking antenna employing time-space position information (TSPI) and derived statistical measures for tracking-error and auto-tracking mode. Test data were statistically analyzed via analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) which revealed that the antenna control unit (ACU) under test (AUT) does not track statistically identically, nor as practically or efficiently in C-band while receiving data carriers in both S- and C-bands. The conclusions of this paper add support to that hypothesis. In this third of three papers we use data from a range test, but make no reference to the systems under test as the purpose of this paper is to present an example of tools useful for employing a SDT&E methodology.

Turbulent Jet Diffusion Flame : Studies On Lliftoff, Stabilization And Autoignition

This thesis is concerned with investigations on two related issues of turbulent jet diffusion flame, namely (a) stabilization at liftoff and (b) autoignition in a turbulent jet diffusion flame. The approach of Conditional Moment Closure (CMC) has been taken. Fully elliptic first order CMC equations are solved with detailed chemistry to simulate lifted H2/N2 flame in vitiated coflow. The same approach is further used to simulate transient autoignition process in inhomogeneous mixing layers. In Chapter 1, difficulties involved in numerical simulation of turbulent combustion problems are explained. Different numerical tools used to simulate turbulent combustion are briefly discussed. Previous experimental, theoretical and numerical studies of lifted jet diffusion flames and autoignition are reviewed. Various research issues related to objectives of the thesis are discussed. In Chapter 2, the first order CMC transport equations for the reacting flows are presented. Various closure models that are required for solving the governing equations are given. Calculation of mean reaction rate term for detailed chemistry is given with special focus on the reaction rates for pressure dependent reactions. In Chapter 3, starting with the laminar flow code, further extension is carried to include kε turbulence model and PDF model. The code is validated at each stage of inclusion of different model. In this chapter, the code is first validated for the test problem of constant density, 2D, axisymmetric turbulent jet. Further, validation of PDF model is carried out by simulating the problem of nonreacting jet of cold air issuing into a vitiated coflow. The results are compared with the published data from experiments as well as numerical simulations. It is shown that the results compare well with the data. In Chapter 4, numerical results of lifted jet diffusion flame are presented. Detailed chemistry is modelled using Mueller mechanism for H2/O2 system with 9 species and 21 reversible reactions. Simulations are carried out for different jet velocities and coflow stream temperatures. The predicted liftoff generally agrees with experimental data, as well as joint PDF results. Profiles of mean scalar fluxes in the mixture fraction space, for different coflow temperatures reveal that (1) Inside the flamezone, the chemical term balances the molecular diffusion term, and hence the structure is of a diffusion flamelet for both cases. (2) In the preflame zone, the structure depends on the coflow temperature: for low coflow temperatures, the chemical term being small, the advective term balances the axial diffusion term. However, for the high coflow temperature case, the chemical term is large and balances the advective term, the axial diffusion term being small. It is concluded that, liftoff is controlled (a) by turbulent premixed flame propagation for low cofflow temperature while (b) by autoignition for high coflow temperature. In Chapter 5, the numerical results of autoignition in inhomogeneous mixing layer are presented. The configuration consists of a fuel jet issued into hot air for which transient simulations are performed. It is found that the constants assumed in various modelling terms can severely influence the results, particularly the flame temperature. Hence, modifications to these constants are suggested to obtain improved predictions. Preliminary work is carried out to predict autoignition lengths (which may be defined by Tign × Ujet incase of jet- and coflowvelocities being equal) by varying the coflow temperature. The autoignition lengths show a reasonable agreement with the experimental data and LES results. In Chapter 6, main conclusions of this thesis are summarized. Possible future studies on this problem are suggested.

Du fait de son très grand potentiel de découverte, l'entrée en activité du Large Hadron Collider (LHC) au CERN est très attendue par toute la communauté de la physique des particules. En effet, les énergies disponibles ouvrent de nouvelles perspectives dans de nombreuses thématiques. En particulier, elles permettront de tester expérimentalement différents formalismes de la ChromoDynamique Quantique (QCD) élaborés depuis ces dernières années afin d'étudier les collisions hadroniques dans la limite des hautes énergies. La théorie du Color Glass Condensate (CGC) est l'un d'entre eux et prédit un régime de saturation, au sein des noyaux, de la densité<br />partonique dans le domaine des très petits x, domaine largement accessible au LHC. Le CGC présente un grand intérêt dans l'étude des collisions d'ions lourds ultra-relativistes plomb-plomb puisqu'elle permet d'en décrire les conditions initiales du système qui évoluera vers un état où les quarks et les gluons sont déconfinés : le Plasma de Quarks et de Gluons (PQG). ALICE est l'expérience du LHC dédiée à l'étude du PQG dont l'une des voies d'étude est la mesure de la production des quarkonia lourds à l'aide d'un spectromètre à muons. Couvrant un domaine de rapidité entre −4 < y < −2.5, ce dernier peut s'avérer particulièrement intéressant pour étudier le CGC.<br />La première partie de ce travail présente les tests de performances des chambres de trajectographie du spectromètre à muons équipées avec l'électronique d'acquisition finale CROCUS. Ils ont conduit à poser les bases du processus de calibration de l'électronique frontale. La seconde partie concerne des simulations effectuées sur<br />certains paramètres électroniques pouvant affecter les performances du spectromètre à muons. La dernière partie développe les prédictions du modèle du CGC pour la production de quarks lourds et la manifestation des effets de saturation via la mesure des muons issus de ces quarks.

Cette étude, menée principalement par des moyens expérimentaux, analyse la dynamique des fluctuations de concentration produites au sein d’un panache d’un scalaire passif émis par une source ponctuelle dans une couche limite turbulente. En étendant le travail de Fackrell and Robins (1982) sur les fluctuations de concentration, on décrit l’évolution des quatre premiers moments de la concentration et on étudie l’influence des conditions à la source (telles que la taille et la hauteur de la source et la vitesse de sortie) sur les moments mêmes. L’étude est complétée par une description détaillée des statistiques du champ de vitesse dans la couche limite, comprenant des informations sur la structure spatiale et temporelle de la turbulence. Cette base de données expérimentale a été utilisée pour valider deux différentes approches à la modélisation de la dispersion: un modèle analytique de meandering et un modèle Lagrangien stochastique avec un schéma de micro mélange. / This experimental study analyses the dynamics of concentration fluctuations in a passive plume emitted by a point source within the turbulent boundary layer. We aim to extend the popular study of Fackrell and Robins (1982) about concentration fluctuations and fluxes from point sources by including third and fourth moments of concentration. We also further inquire into the influence of source conditions, such as the source size, source elevation and emission velocity, on higher order concentration moments. The data set is completed by a detailed description of the velocity statistics within the TBL, with exhaustive information on both the temporal and spatial structure of the flow. The experimental data-set has been used to test two different modeling ap- proaches: an analytical meandering plume model (in one and in three dimen- sions) and a Lagrangian stochastic micro-mixing model.

Étude des facteurs de l'hémostase après thrombolyse par le rT-PA dans l'infractus cérébral aigu : corrélations cliniques et étiologiques / Haemostasis factors after rt-PA thrombolysis in acute cerebral infarct

L'étude systématique de l'hémostase post-thrombolytique a été peu étudiée. Chez 80 malades thrombolysés consécutifs, une étude prospective a comporté l'étude – aux heures 0, 2 et 24 – des facteurs de l'hémostase suivants: fibrinogène, plasminogène, PDF (produits de dégradation de la fibrine et du fibrinogène), D-dimères, alpha2-antiplasmine et facteur XIII, ainsi que l'hématocrite et la numération plaquettaire. Des calculs statistiques approfondis ont exploré les corrélations des variations des facteurs hémostatiques entre eux et avec 37 paramètres cliniques et étiologiques. Processus moléculaires post-thrombolytiques. Le rt-PA induit deux processus, indépendants statistiquement à la 2ème heure: d'une part une élévation des PDF et des D-dimères; d'autre part, une baisse du fibrinogène, corrélée à une baisse du plasminogène (r=0,48, p=0.01), de l'alpha2-antiplasmine (r=0.48, p =0.004) et du facteur XIII (r=0.44, p=0.01). La baisse du plasminogène est corrélée significativement avec celle de l'alpha2-antiplasmine (r=0.77, p<0.001), et du facteur XIII (r=0.47, p=0.02). La mise en jeu de facteurs anti-fibrinolytiques, qui n'avait jamais été décrite précédemment, peut jouer un rôle dans une limitation de la fibrinolyse et dans la rethrombose. Des corrélations sont notées entre la baisse précoce du plasminogène et l'étiologie cardioembolique (p=0.04), et un mauvais pronostic final (p=0.03), possiblement en rapport la thrombolyse intense de gros caillots. Les hématomes intra-cérébraux parenchymateux (HP) sont liés significativement à la baisse du fibrinogène (p=0.01) et à l'augmentation des PDF (p=0.01). Une baisse du fibrinogène au-dessous de 2g/L multiplie la probabilité de HP précoce par un facteur 12,82. Ainsi est confirmé le modèle d'une “coagulopathie précoce avec dégradation du fibrinogène”», prédictive de l'hématome, proposé par l'équipe lyonnaise de thrombolyse en 2004 / A systematic study of post-thrombolytic haemostasis has rarely been performed. In 80 consecutive patients, we have prospectively studied at hours 0, 2 and 24 the following parameters: fibrinogen, plasminogen, alpha2-antiplasmin, factor XIII, fibrin(ogen) Degradation Products (FDP), D-dimers, haematocrit and platelet count. Comprehensive statistical studies calculated correlations of the haemostatic values betwen themselves and with 38 etiological and clinical parameters. Molecular dynamics. Two changes between h0 and h2 were statistically independent: an increase in FDP and D-Dimers; a decrease in fibrinogen, plasminogen, alpha2-antiplasmin and factor XIII. At h2, the decrease in fibrinogen was significantly correlated with that of plasminogen (0.48, p = 0.01), alpha2-antiplasmin (0.48, p = 0.004), and factor XIII (0.44, p = 0.01). The decrease in plasminogen was significantly correlated with those of antifibrinolytic components, alpha2-antiplasmin (r=0.77, p<0.001) and factor XIII (0.47, p=0.02). To our knowledge, such an activation of antifibrinolytic components had not hitherto been mentioned. The h2 decrease of plasminogen was correlated with cardioembolic etiology (p=0.04) and final poor oucome (p=0.03), a fact possibly due to intense thrombolysis of large clots. Patients having early parenchymal hematomas (PH) showed h2 haemostasis disturbances: high FDP (p=0.01), and low fibrinogen (p=0.01). The decrease in fibrinogen less than 2g/L multiplies the odds of early PH by a factor 12.82. Thus, we confirm the model of an “early fibrinogen degradation coagulopathy” predictive of hematomas, which had been coined by the Lyon thrombolysis team in 2004

The master dissertation Electronic books at VSE is focused on analysing the opportunities of e-books in the environment of VSE. The aim is to describe the current state of different study materials used at VSE and to explore different ways of improving them using e-book technology. The dissertation briefly describes various attributes of e-books with stress on the relevant attributes -- the possibility of inserting notes, bookmarks, multimedia and interactive content. Also the possibility of editing the content and sharing resulting changes with other students is a key attribute. The dissertation then moves on to describe the different kinds of study materials that are in use at VSE. The second half of the dissertation builds on previous analysis of the study materials and introduces a hypothetical optimal state, which could result from implementing e-book technology. This state is the answers the question of what is actually possible to achieve. The next chapter in this half is the technical analysis, which answers the question of how is it possible to achieve the suggested hypothetical state. The conclusion of this dissertation answers the questions whether the proposed solution is a viable candidate for implementation. The results of this dissertation could be used as a guideline for the project of implementation of e-book technology in the environment of VSE.
