Analysis and rehearsal consideration on Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria: RV 589

Hwang, Joo Yeon January 1900 (has links)
Master of Music / Department of Music / Julie Yu-Oppenheim / This report presents the biography of the composer Antonio Vivaldi, background of his composition Gloria, musical characteristics and analysis. Moreover, for a successful performance, rehearsal plans and techniques are also included. Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741), one of the representative composers in Baroque period (1600-1750), wrote Gloria, in the early 18th century. The composition date is still disputed between scholars. He composed three settings of the Gloria text: RV 588, 589 and 590. Out of them RV 589 is the most performed setting. Gloria consists of twelve movements and orchestration of trumpet, oboe, strings, and continuo. Homophonic and polyphonic style is prevalent in this work. In addition, focus should be placed on the harmonic suspensions, the flow of chromatic melodic lines and melismas. For the recital, Chamber Singers consisted of 23 people who were the members of Concert Choir who have training focusing on clean and light tone with non-vibrato style.

Dispositif de détection et localisation basé sur un système RFID UHF intelligent : application au domaine de la grande distribution / A detection and localization device based on a smart UHF RFID system : application in the field of retail

Farhat, Hadi 27 March 2019 (has links)
UHF RFID technology, also known as RAIN RFID, is a passive technology that enables the automatic identification of items. Thus, it bridges the gap between the physical and digital worlds by allowing an item to become alive on the Internet of things thanks to inexpensive and battery-free RFID tags. Passive UHF RFID technology has witnessed a significant development due to the accelerated growth of sophisticated technological devices. This development is largely driven by the supply chain and the retail industries. Passive UHF RFID Gen2, among other tracing and identification solutions, is the logical choice given the low costs of large-volume tags, ease of printing and being battery-free, the need for maintenance is completely eliminated. The main concern of resellers, the withdrawal of the product, is mainly affected by errors related to visibility (stock gap, theft, loss) and human errors. It is, therefore, necessary to improve visibility and automate the process. Despite its advantages, RFID deployment in supermarkets is still facing many obstacles and challenges. In this thesis, we focus on technological availability by defining and analyzing the different challenges and possibly proposing the appropriate solutions.First, the maximum reading distances of passive tags are evaluated in different environments in order to identify the factors impacting them. At the end of this study, an alternative characterization method is proposed to control tag performance and identify tagged objects with poor performance. Secondly, we will use this method to propose a new solution to improve detection. The algorithms behind this solution allow readers to negotiate their configurations with the environment and with each other. Finally, a new location algorithm is proposed to improve accuracy. This algorithm is based on the exploitation of the answers of the reliable tags of the medium. The proposed solutions are universal, compatible with market readers and add no cost to the hardware used for detection.

Bilinguisme et apprentissage des mathématiques : études à la Martinique / Bilingualism and mathematics learning : studies in Martinique

Arneton, Mélissa 13 September 2010 (has links)
In this thesis, we try to explain why French overseas pupils have got, for many years, inferior performances to their mainland French school fellows at national academic evaluations. The most surprising is that the observed differences are stronger in mathematics than in French. Then, we focus on the cultural characteristics (bilingualism and collective beliefs) able to influence the school learning, in a French Overseas Department considered as a ?natural laboratory?: Martinique. We carry out four studies with two educational levels (in elementary school and first year of the secondary school). In the first study, we make side analysis of several years' national academic data. They acknowledge the observation as a reality and they invalidate two hypotheses, one to a specific difference in a particular field of mathematics (in geometry for example) and a second relative to an item differential functioning. In the second study, an experimental procedure allows 1) to measure social and cognitive bilingualism of Martinican pupils, 2) to evaluate with different procedures the children performances in mathematics and 3) to collect their scores at national evaluations. This second study refutes the hypothesis of the influence of bilingualism on academic learning. In the third study, we deal with the link between social beliefs (specifically the children?s beliefs of the school disciplines) and their performances. The results do not allow to conclude that the martinican children have worst beliefs of the mathematics than the French mainland children. In the last study, we compile data collected in the precedent analysis, in order to refute the bilingualism?s influence on the school learning. Finally, in the same time, we explain our observations and we submit considered perspectives relatives, for one part, to methodology and the instruments used in this research and, for the second part, to others cultural perspectives, which could be explore.
