Cartografia de uma ação territorial em saúde transitando pelo Programa Saúde da Família / Cartography a territorial action in health transiting through Family Health Program

Barbara Eleonora Bezerra Cabral 05 March 2004 (has links)
This research had as main objective to open possibilities of an ethical and political meaning for the territorial action in health as an intervention in public health, through the Familys Health Program, based on the experience of professionals who perform it. The scenery of the study is the public policies field concerning health care. Such investiment was due to rare systematic studies on the theme, in order to deepen some reflection on the professional formation for this kind of intervention. Yet, it showed a possibility to point reflections on the evaluation of the Familys Health Program. The research is based on the existential phenomenological approach and on the oral narratives methodology. The colaborators were nine public health professionals from Cabo de Santo Agostinho-PE, engaged in the strategy of the territorial action in health through the Familys Health Program. In order to collect the narratives, two moments were designed: a group discussion and an individual interview, some time after the group. Both procedures provided a situation for the professionals to talk about their practical experience in such a kind of action. The methodology was appropriated to promote experience, making it possible to think out a way of caring in order to produce meaning for their work. In this sense, the procedure presented itself as a way of taking care of who takes care, highlighting a comprehension of research as an intervention act, as pointed by the Clinical Social Psychology referential. The narratives interpretation indicated various aspects about the theme, such as: discrepancy between the objetives of the program and the real/possible action, importance of thinking over the context for professional formation, need to reflect on the acting and difficulties to construct an effective collective job, as required by this kind of territorial action in health

Maria Danielly da Silva Cabral 31 August 2009 (has links)
This research intends to comprehend the experience of psychologists who develop the existential phenomenological perspective in their clinical activity and holds up specific objectives as describing the trajectory of the academic and professional process until the choice of existential phenomenological approach. It also tries apprehend the existential phenomenological assumptions that lead the clinical activity of these psychologists and understand how psychologists who take this view realize their possibilities and limits. The methodology is focused on a clinical intervention with a qualitative approach. The instrument of the research will be held through psychologists testimonials (collaborators characters). The narratives, based on Benjamin and Schmidt as a possibility of life experience, are undergone subject to further to analytical sense proposed by Critelli as a procedure investigation and phenomenological analysis. The results showed that all interviewed based on a dissatisfaction of what was offered to them, in a quiet or more intense way, slowly or suddenly, they felt themselves more deeply taken by the prospect of their choice. The sensation of a meeting, lived through great emotion, marked each one of the narrators that despite the passage of time brought with great liveliness and freshness the lived moment from their lives. Lives, existences that have felt in harmony, integrity, coherency, speaking about their points of views, mans view, as they strongly emphasized at the prospect of clinical activity of existential phenomenology. The requirement for a professional choice is deeply intertwined with the history of each one, that was really the fact of their motivation. In our region, the existential phenomenological conception was introduced by contemporary psychologies that promoted existential humanist ideals. All of the interviewed identified themselves with this perspective. Themes to this movement were often cited as essential during the action of our collaborators characters: freedom-responsibility, singularity, multiplicity, clinical and empathy listening , sense, meaning, openness to new, anguish and death. However, except for one of our interviewed, who considering himself into the transition process, and due this particular moment, shows critically the conceptions of several authors and movements of the highlighted field. The other ones openly associate existential concepts of humanism with the analytical existence. The certainly of the correct choice, and the satisfaction with the clinical effort offered different ways to the interviewed group. Certainly, it is through this mood that they assessed the limits of their own clinical activity. So, in a general way, they believe that the difficulties are related to inadequacy of the professionals, that is, the difficulties may be linked to their own history, to the examination of themselves or to the deep learning of the concepts proposed by existential phenomenology

O assassino existencialista e outras narrativas: o existencialismo de Sartre em cena no Rio de Janeiro (1945-1955) / The existentialist killer and other stories: Sartres existentialism in Rio de Janeiro (1945-1955)

Rodolfo Rodrigues de Souza 09 February 2015 (has links)

A live tradition: roots for the soul a phenomenological analysis of belonging experiences in a rural community of Minas Gerais

Renata Amaral Araujo 03 April 2009 (has links)
This thesis refers to the contemporary individual constitution in a cultural perspective specifically marked by the religious experience: the devotion to Our Lady of Nazareth in Morro Vermelho (Caeté/MG). We investigated, described, and discussed - through this fertile field of expression in our Brazilian culture, our popular celebrations how the experience of belonging emerges as a way of oneself´s conception in this context. To reach this objective, we analyzed how the community experience in Morro Vermelho, ordered by the Mariana devotion, contributes to the sense of belonging dynamic, giving opportunity to the local experience. For this it was necessary: a) the analysis of three interviews collected during the preparation and party of Our Lady of Nazareth, in 2001, facing the following situation: the relationship between the development of devotion, for the citizens of Morro Velho, and the manifestation of the sense of belonging experience to this place; b) the description of the elements in the community life of this village that help in the sense of belonging experience; c) the understanding of the dynamic of the sense of belonging, as it is experienced by the interviewees, and its influence in their self-awareness. We chose the Classic Phenomenology by Husserl as the analysis method, as well as some of his followers, what helped in the comprehension of the necessary steps to reach the essential meanings of the experiences lived by the real individuals, in accordance to the Psychology contribution. After that, we showed the common path of the belonging feeling among the interviewees, through the elaboration of the experience, identifying two common axes: a) knowledge, verification, and personal experience with Our Lady Nazareth: that emphasizes the development of the devotion for each interviewee, until the process of verification of the received tradition and b) from the personal relationship with Our Lady Nazareth, the party organization starts: which reveals the personal commitment of the interviewees to the party, through the requirement to make the specific task in the Mariana celebrations, the memory of the relationship with the Saint as a place of belonging and the answer to the requirement from the patroness as a manifestation of gratitude and expression of the belonging feeling. After this step, we interact with some authors, using themes from the analysis and elaboration of the experience, such as: the importance of the traditional knowledge for the modern life, the function of the tradition to offer roots for the soul and how the relation of the sense of belonging happens in a group of people. In the end, we made the theoretical reconstruction according to the a phenomenological perspective of the experiences, based on the confrontation between the structure of the sense of belonging experience of the interviewees from Morro Vermelho as a self-conception and the contribution of some authors, according to the experience elaboration of the witnesses, structured in three ways: a) the origin of the sense of belonging is a live tradition: the offer of a frame of reference; b) the apprehension of the meaning of the tradition: the basis for a conscious belonging feeling; and c) the conscience of belonging gets concrete in the construction of the party: sense of belonging as a self-awareness.

Women's experience of endogenous factors that maintain an abusive spousal relationship: a phenomenological study

Musson-Seedat, Saudah 19 April 2010 (has links)
M.A. / Spousal abuse has been a practiced for decades across many cultures. According to the Domestic Violence Act, 1998 of S.A. spousal abuse consists of physical, sexual, emotional verbal psychological and economic abuse as well as various forms of intimidation by a spouse. Abuse against women and children seems to be entrenched in gender power equalities and hierarchical gender relations prevalent in society. The advent of feminism, that deals with issues of inequality between the genders, in the nineteenth century highlighted the problem of spousal abuse and challenged cultural and patriarchal notions of women. In South Africa spousal abuse is alarmingly prevalent and deeply ingrained within our society and is often viewed as a normative rather than a deviant practice. The legacy of political repression, a declining economy and diminishing job opportunities, insufficient educational opportunities and racial and ethnic divisions, has for decades generated deep rooted divisions in our society. Women in particular are the historically the victims of political and economic exclusion and have suffered the ravages of patriarchy, sexism and discriminatory practices that have kept them outside of social, political and economic power structures. In this process, abuse against women has been subtly sanctioned by society. This reflects the extent to which exploitation and abuse, in varying forms, have come to pervade the very foundations of our society and have become a socially sanctioned instrument for resolving conflict and promoting change. Because of the continued cultural sanctioning of spousal abuse it is often underreported, making statistics on the subject extremely difficult to obtain. The present study explored the women’s endogenous factors that contributed to the maintenance of their abusive spousal relationship. In essence these factors refer to the thoughts, feelings and beliefs which are significant in the experience of being in an abusive relationship. The study further looked at how these endogenous factors entrap women in abusive relationships. In order to contextualise the experience of being in an abusive spousal relationship the literature review (which makes up the first four chapters 2 of this study) concentrated on several different areas. The first chapter addresses the aims and motivations of the present study. The second chapter deals with established theories and thoughts about the existence of spousal abuse in relationships. Theoretical explanations highlighting some of the endogenous maintaining factors in an abusive spousal relationship are presented. These include psychodynamic theories, systems theory, feminism, eco-systemic approach, social constructionism and postmodernism. The third chapter deals with women’s responses to spousal abuse. The fourth chapter deals with the interaction between women’s socialisation and their response to spousal abuse. It would seem that abused woman find themselves in varying contradictory interactional contexts. Their spouse represents the person who loves them the most, yet he hurts them the most too. Their calls for support by informing others are seen as dishonouring their families yet when they decide to keep the abuse quiet they are condemned. These paradoxes confront abused women when they are in need of help, support and understanding. These cultural and societal norms are confusing and inconsistent, together with various emotions, serve to paralyse the abused women and limit their choices.

Leading While Black and Male: A Phenomenology of Black Male School Leadership

Smith, Phillip Anthony January 2019 (has links)
This study explored the ways in which the racial identities and lived experiences of Black male K-12 public and independent school leaders inform their professional lives and leadership. Through a qualitative phenomenological study, use of online descriptive survey, and in-depth semi-structured interviews, including the use of visual elicitation methods, with 14 Black male school leaders from across the United States, this research study provided structural and textural descriptions as well as a synthesis of meanings and essence of the experience and phenomenon of Black male K-12 school building-level leadership. This can be summarized as: (a) growing up as a Black boy; (b) leadership as ministry; (c) when a Black man is in the principal’s office; and (d) safeguarding the village. The research expands understanding of paradigms of critical race leadership and disrupts the normative educational leadership axiology. These leaders developed a range of strategies that enabled them to navigate the multidimensional aspects of their racial identity within a dominant White-racialized education system. Additionally, their articulation of action-oriented social justice leadership was influenced by their personal lived experiences, values, and sense of community.

A qualitative analysis of the lived experiences of Colombian female photojournalist and their relationship with embodied visual activism in the context of feminist protests in Colombia

Valenzuela Anzola, Ana Maria January 2022 (has links)
This thesis explores how gender inequality in the photographic staff of the main Colombian media outlets, has established a hegemonic view of representation and examines the way recent social outbursts in the country, have been the ideal setting for the rise of citizen journalism, visual activism, and new visual citizenships. It seeks to present how diverse individuals, including female photojournalists are producing alternative visual narratives and igniting a paradigm shift on traditional photojournalism. By embracing new digital visualities and depictions of the other, these individuals are confronting traditional media organizations, questioning their visual narratives, inclusion, and representation policies.   Positioned from a Phenomenological and Feminist Media Theory standpoint, this project aims to observe this phenomenon from the bottom up, building from the experiences of the subject’s study. This project will consider emotions, affections lived experiences of three Colombian female photojournalists in active exercise of their profession, who will take part of this study, and those experiences will be basic inputs of interpretation. I contend that not sufficient research has been done on this topic, and expose an evident research gap, existing in Latin-American and Colombian Media Studies, since it’s connected to new technologies, recent social change and in general, a phenomenon still developing. Drawing from a Phenomenological Psychology field methodology, data will be obtained through semi-structured interviews and examined with coding and interpretation tools provided by this discipline. This study concludes how the female body becomes a political and visual signifier exercising an embodied practice in photojournalism, but also by emotions connected to what they are seeing through their lenses, which in turn, produces affective visualities and narratives many times, opposed to the claims of objectivity, rationality and newsworthiness traditional journalism stands for.

What keeps nurses in nursing: a Heideggerian hermeneutic phenomenological study

Unknown Date (has links)
The purpose of this study was to explore what keeps nurses in nursing by examining the impact of the relational experiences between the nurse and her or his patient in the context of the nursing situation. Heideggerian hermeneutic phenomenology grounded the study and was the method used to interpret the registered nurse participants' meaning of their everydayness. The nurses' first hand perspectives elicited implications for nursing practice. This qualitative research study examined what keeps nurses in nursing. The eight registered nurse participants provided rich descriptive data from which four relational themes emerged: Practicing from Inner Core Beliefs, Understanding the Other from Within, Making a Difference, and Nursing as an Evolving Process. The hermeneutical interpretative process guided the researcher to synthesize the themes into a constitutive pattern of meaning which the researcher named Intentional Compassion Energy. In intentional caring consciousness, the nurse intentionally knows the nursed as whole. Compassion energy is the intersubjective gift of compassion that gives nurses the opportunity to be with the nursed. Compassion energy is composed of compassionate presence, patterned nurturance and intentionally knowing the nursed and self as whole. Thus, intentional compassion energy is defined as the regeneration of nurses' capacity to foster interconnectedness when the nurse activates the intent to nurse. Intentional compassion energy was discovered in the meaning of the nurse participants being in their everydayness of practice. The participants described the intention to care compassionately as the grounding of their practice, striving to understand the other, to make a difference while living their nursing as an evolving process. Hermeneutic phenomenology provided the opening to discover what keeps nurses in nursing. / by Dorothy J. The phenomenon of illness, given its complexity, involves conflicts in the dimensions physical, psychological, social, spiritual and existential. In the last decade, many studies have been concerned with the welfare of people living with chronic diseases. Many of these studies evaluate instruments through the quality of life for people with Chronic Renal Failure lifting quantitative aspects that suggest further elaboration. This gap in an attempt to engage with empirical data, this study aims to know the ways chosen to give meaning to illness and the meanings attributed by the person in daily life in hemodialysis treatment. In order to understand the direction of taking care of himself there, a man full of vision, a survey was conducted qualitative field phenomenological interviewing six adult participants who perform the renal replacement therapy at a private clinic in Sao Paulo. In-depth interviews were conducted with stimulating questions, for data analysis using the phenomenological reduction. In the analysis of the interviews the meaning of illness appears as ominous and uncontrollable. The responsibility for taking care of our own existence is transferred to another person pointing to lack of ownership and autonomy. In this direction, highlighted the ways of transcendence were religious coping, interpersonal relations and the ideal kidney transplant / Em tempos hipermodernos, os grandes avanços da biotecnologia ainda não são suficientes para anular todo sofrimento humano na adversidade da doença.
