Padrões de metadados para instrumentos de pesquisa: a integração em benefício do usuário tendo por base o acervo da Fábrica Rheingantz / Metadata standards for finding aids to photographic archives: the integration in benefit of the user by means of the Fábrica Rheingantz's photographic holdings

Silva, Rita de Cássia Portela da 26 March 2010 (has links)
This work aims, in general terms, to analyze the possibility of integration of metadata standards in the development of finding aids for photographic archives, favoring the user in the recover of the wanted images. In specific terms, it intends to present the photographic archives in the context of documentary heritage, including its characteristics as well as the knowledge area that act in its treatment in order to facilitate its access and the utilization by the users; to analyze procedures, methods and standards of Archives Administration, Librarianship and Museum studies, susceptible to be used in the preparation of instruments that allow the recovery/location of photographs, to study the provisions and applications of Semantic Web and Web 2.0 in order to use them as instruments to disseminate archival descriptions and, developing descriptions from the integration of metadata standards between those areas. To this end, there were used the methods of literature review and case study. There are presented, in this sense, the finding aids developed in the Historical Documentation Center Professor Hugo Alberto Alves Pereira, Federal University of Rio Grande, from the integration of metadata standards used by the archive and library science, as well as codified in EAD (Encoded Archival Description).

A Piece of Space : Exploring photographic space as a visualized form of spatial experience and thinking about how a designer can position it in reality.

Baek, Juyeon January 2020 (has links)
This project recognizes photographic space as a visualized form of spatial experience and tries to read unspecified spatial information in photos shared in social media. By exploring a photograph, I research how photography, which is a framing activity, has affected spatial experience and cognition. I try to re-build a space with photographs and compare the different characters of original space and photographic space by juxtaposition. The combination of original space and photographic space through a mechanism tool makes designers understand people’s experiential space over spatial hierarchy planned by designers. The project shows three-dimensional space made with photos using a photogrammetry method. It places original space and photographic space within a tool that mechanized the principle of Filippo Brunelleschi’s linear perspective. It highlights the multiple identities of space and visual form of photographic space. Also, by applying Henri Lefebvre’s theory to two different spaces and spatial practices, it gives a clue how designers can understand a photograph as a social product of spatial identity, an independent element from real space. A piece of space is an experiment spatial tool that draws people into multiple experienced spaces. It is tightly connected with spatial contexts; original space, photographic space and spatial practice by people. The whole process in the project consists of experiments that can explore the meaning of photographic space and how it can be positioned in reality. /
Some images have been removed for copyright reason.

Novinář jakožto digitální nomád / Journalist as a digital nomad

Andresková, Marie January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with digital nomadism (modern way of teleworking, enabled mainly by the existence of internet and social networks) and implications of this phenomenon for journalistic environment and media functioning. In the Czech environment, this issue has been explored so far, and digital nomadism is rapidly changing in view of the rapid technological development of the media environment on the internet. The author wanted to add this gap to the thesis, both in theory and in primary research. Through interviews with specific digital nomads (especially Czechs and Czechs), she tries to answer basic questions about how the digital nomads actually happened, their motivation, the specifics of their work and, last but not least, whether it is possible as a digital nomad - actually a journalist to feed. The concept of digital nomadism first captures theoretically, both in general, in the context of the technological development of the media environment (new media and formats) and changes in the labor market in the journalistic environment, and specifically in terms of media theory. Specifically, it analyzes digital nomadism in the context of technological convergence and media hybridization. In particular, on the basis of available, mainly foreign literature, the concept and concept of digital...

Lässt sich die Aerosolbelastung von Stadtgebieten aus Satellitenbildern ableiten?

Schmidt, Christian, Ziemann, Astrid, Schlink, Uwe 26 September 2017 (has links)
The use of contrast reducing Mie scattering for the derivation of aerosol optical thickness (AOT) of the atmosphere is described in this article. With the aid of Differential Texture Analysis (DTA) the contrast between two visual satellite images will be determined and the AOT will be deduced. An assessment of the DTA algorithm with Landsat 5 TM satellite images for the Munich area is presented here. Problems like false AOT values caused by surface albedo changes and uncertainties in pollution loading are discussed, and proposed solutions will also be presented. Two methods for solving these difficulties, the histogram method and the regression method, will be displayed.

Etika, pravdivost a objektivita v historii fotografie, zejména žurnalistické / Ethics, truthfulness and objectivity in the history of photography, esp. journalistic

Folprecht, Vladimír January 2014 (has links)
Ethics, credibility and objectivity in the history of photography, especially journalistic This work deals with photography as with a socio-ethical pictorial medium, and covers the period from its invention to the mid-fifties of 20th century. I describe the history and development of ethical aspects of photography in the context of the process from image taking to its publication in the press, and its importance in the context of the time. The photos presented in the thesis are selected from those that have, due to their specific impact at the time they were taken, particular importance, and have extraordinary informative value related to ethical aspects in the historical development of photography. I mention photographers and photos that draw attention to the newly emerged ethical problems enable others to see pains, wickedness and injustice in the society, to rouse conscience of the society, and give impetus to correct these. In this respect, photography has played an important and irreplaceable role. There are also presented photographs documenting ethical failures of whole nations under the influence of monstrous ideologies of charismatic leaders, as a memento for future generations to help them to avoid similar events. Keywords Photography, journalism, social ethics, child labor, propaganda,...

Problém autenticity fotografie: svědectví a dějinné vědomí / The problem of authenticity of photograph: testimony evidence and historical consciousness

Černý, Vladimír January 2013 (has links)
The thesis points to the negative phenomenon of Holocaust denial, objective viewpoint of testimony, authenticity of photograph and background of historical consciousness in the context of postmodern situation. If we wanted to use objective testimony of photograph as a valid argument against Holocaust denial, we would have to declare the authenticity of photograph is invalid. The options of its manipulation, both content and meaning, are examined through semiotics of Peirce, mainly through trichotomy icon, index and symbol. In today's pluralistic time, the historical consciousness is proposed as a possible starting point of examination of historical sources, including photograph. Key words Photograph, authenticity, manipulation, Peirce, historical consciousness, Holocaust.

Pedestrian

Albrecht, Marissa 29 July 2020 (has links)
My feet are my transportation while living in the college town of Provo, Utah. When walking, I am drawn to designs found at construction sites and office workplaces, methods of labor that are executed sequentially. These designs lead me to think about laborious jobs that I have had and time performing mundane, repetitive tasks. Walking, photographing, gathering, and transporting used material to a workspace are the preliminary actions for my art practice. Creation emerges by relating material from varying environments through their inherent patterns, sizes, and shapes. I organize elements of the everyday in a new harmonious context with each other. At the core of my art practice, I present an altered way of looking at commonplace materials.

Analýza úspěšné komunikace na Instagramu na příkladu předních českých food blogerek / Analysis of Successful Communication on Instagram on the Example of Top Czech Food Bloggers

Kader Aghová, Magdalena January 2021 (has links)
The thesis is devoted to analyzing the successful communication of some of the best Czech food bloggers on the social medium Instagram on which the topic of food is trendy. However, I noticed that many food bloggers profiles do not share only food photos, but also their personal photographs. Therefore, my thesis is also devoted to discovering which topics are between analyzed Instagram posts and on the food bloggers profiles the most common. In the communication analysis I focus on how the food bloggers communicate with their followers through texts, photos, hashtags, and how they react to the comments. I also analyze the emoticons and hashtags that they use. In the theoretical part, my thesis focuses mainly on Instagram, it's characterization, functions and methods of how to succeed in this social medium. It also focuses on different aspects of the photograph, "reading" the image, and social semiotics. The social semiotics approach is essential for my research because, on Instagram, the meaning is transmitted by not just one mode, but more modes - all of them are listed above. The empirical part uses qualitative research methods, which is based on content analysis of 3 successful food bloggers - @made_by_kristina, @cukrfree.cz, and @kitchenettehome. I analyze 12-13 most successful posts from their...
