No. of bitstreams: 1 ronaldo sena e silva.pdf: 758805 bytes, checksum: 50ddd870dfedb208e155053c6ec67166 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2015-09-24 / The aim of this study was to verify the use of growth hormone (GH), with or without resisted exercise, the estrous cycle, the dosage of the estradiol and progesterone and Wistar rats endometrium thickness. The rats were divided into four groups (n = 10): CT (Control); Ex (resisted exercise - water jumps with 50% of body weight); GH (0,2UI / kg administered GH); and ExGH (GH and Ex groups combined treatment). The estrous cycle phase of rats were determined by vaginal cytology, daily for 29 days. The rats plasma was used for hormone dosage and the endometrium thicknesses were evaluated by histology. We used the Shapiro-Wilk normality presupposition. For samples that was parametric, ANOVA was used with Tukey, for no parametric samples, Kruskal-Wallis with Student-Newman-Keuls test was used (p<0.05). There are a greater reproductive cycles number in CT than in other groups during the 29 days period (p>0.05), no difference were found between the hormones dosage groups neither endometrial thickness. Therefore, it is concluded that GH and resisted exercises both combined affect females reproductive cycle, they reduced the number of cycles of rats but they do not change the estradiol and progesterone concentrations, neither endometrial thickness.

Bendita Lorenzo, Anny Caroline, Navarro Pereyra, Yamila Abigail 01 September 2021 (has links)
Introduction: Nowadays, falls have become one of the main problems faced by the elderly population. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of a 12-week exercise program compared to the same 2-week program to reduce the risk of falls in this human group. Methods: Randomized parallel experimental study with two intervention groups performed to elderly people (EP) belonging to Centro Integral del Adulto Mayor. The randomized participants were 13 EP (Group 1 = 5; Group 2 = 8). The test Timed Up and Go (TUG) was used to determine the risk of falls, and it was applied a questionnaire to them in order to obtain personal data. Same exercise program was implemented for both groups and only differed in the number of sessions (Group 1 = 4 sessions; Group 2 = 24 sessions). Results: Most participants were women, who had a low level of physical activity in both groups. The TUG revealed in the beginning that the 87,5% of Group 2 had a normal/low risk of falls and at the end of the program the total was found there. The number of falls from the initial to the final evaluation was reduced by about 20%. Finally, the total difference between the initial and final TUG is a reduction of 0,46 seconds. In any of the variables no significant association was found (p > 0.01) for both groups. Conclusion: No significant association was found between performing a 12-week physical exercise program compared to the same 2-week program to reduce the risk of falls. / Tesis

Postmenopausal Women with Osteoporosis : The Effect of Physical Exercise on Markers Linked to Quality of Life

Gustafsson, Henrik January 2021 (has links)
This study has aimed to evaluate how osteoporosis affects the quality of life in postmenopausal women and to assess the influence of physical exercise on markers for quality of life in osteoporosis patients. The EQ-5D questionnaire was applied for evaluation of the markers: Mobility, Self-care, Usual Activities, Pain/Discomfort and Anxiety/Depression. In collaboration with the University of Bologna, a 6-month exercise trial of women aged 60-75 with osteoporotic vertebral fractures was analyzed. These osteoporosis patients were divided into two groups; an exercise group and a control group. Markers linked to quality of life were compared for the women with osteoporosis with those of an average female Italian population of similar age. Markers for quality of life, specifically: Mobility, Usual Activities, Pain/Discomfort and Anxiety/Depression were significantly lower in the Italian osteoporosis patients than in the average population. Exercise slightly improved Mobility and Usual Activities for the osteoporosis patients, but the results did not reach statistical significance.

The present project of an application that seeks to promote community, virtual interaction and collaboration with people who want to implement or maintain a healthy lifestyle shows the feasibility of its execution, based on the experiments carried out on the target audience (interviews): people who they practice sports or follow a good diet and health professionals (nutritionists and physical trainers), who are considered important actors in the success of this initiative. On the one hand, it was found that in the first group they tend to show demotivation at the beginning of their new regimens. On the other hand, those in the second group considered that the application would be efficient, according to the purpose that follows. To carry out this project, the implementation is required, first of all, of a native app, whose closest storage is Play Store and AppStore, since, according to the research, they are the virtual stores most used by users through their cellphones. This implies the cost of a custom development of approximately S / 3000.00, as well as the payment of the servers where the architecture and storage of the coding will be hosted, whose initial cost is S / 0.195. On the other hand, it is necessary to implement a marketing and loyalty plan through strategies such as market penetration -which will be allocated S / 500-, community creation and, finally, measuring the results through NPS, an indicator that reflects the degree of loyalty and loyalty on the part of consumers. / Trabajo de investigación

Les jeux vidéo sérieux en pratique gérontologique : application aux relations activité physique/cognition / Serious video games in gerontological practice : application to relationships between physical activity and cognition

Sacco, Guillaume 07 June 2018 (has links)
This thesis presents a clinical and therapeutic approach aiming to create new care for patients with neurocognitive disorder. Serious exergames are serious video games integrating physical activity. Serious exergames could be tools to product enriched environment associating physical exercise and cognitive training. The aim of this thesis is to investigate whether serious exergames can contribute to the non-pharmacological management of neurocognitive disorders. In this thesis we have made two types of contributions. The first type are general contributions. One presents our integrative clinical approach associating physical exercise and cognitive training using serious exergames. The other one presents recommendations concerning the use of serious exergames. The second type of contributions are experimental. The first one aims to confirm a theoretical base of our clinical approach. The two other experiments assess the implementation of our approached in a population of patients with neurocognitive disorder.

Frölich, Anne 26 March 2015 (has links)

Štefanová, Petra January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis takes interest in the issue of physical activities of children with cystic fibrosis, in possible impacts of such activities on clinical condition, in options of prescription of physical activities based on the actual clinical state of a person with cystic fibrosis, and in options of objectification of changes induced by an exercise programme. The theoretic part of this thesis summarizes the current findings about cystic fibrosis, therapy and physical activities in the context of prognosis of patients with cystic fibrosis. In experimental part, we performed examinations on few participants, who were willing to perform a home-based exercise programme. Also, we made a short exploratory questionnaire focused on the attitude of children with cystic fibrosis towards physical exercises. Methodology: We observed the evolution of maximal oxygen uptake VO2max, forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1), forced vital capacity (FVC) and of the scores of 1- minute sit-to-stand test (1-MSTST). All the measurements were performed before and after 12- weeks long exercise intervention. The inclusion criteria were diagnosis of cystic fibrosis, age over 10 years, FEV1 over 60 % predicted and no present signs of an acute exacerbation. Participants were assessed by spirometry examination,...
