Le bâtiment est un noeud énergétique important et un support idéal pour développer etanalyser les effets d’un système de gestion optimisée d’énergie (SGEB) tant son impactpotentiel sur la demande énergétique globale est important. Cependant, pour que ces objectifssoient atteints, plusieurs verrous doivent être levés. Au-delà des problématiques liées àl’architecture de distribution, aux modèles (y compris ceux relatifs au comportement desusagers), aux outils de dimensionnement, à la formalisation des paramètres, contraintes etcritères, aux systèmes de production et aux modes de connexions au réseau de distribution, lesproblèmes liés à la mise en oeuvre d’un outil de gestion décentralisée et à sa validation sontcentraux centrale. Ces travaux s’inscrivent directement dans cette optique. Ils portent enparticulier sur l’élaboration de modèles énergétiques, de stratégies de gestion d’énergie dansune configuration multi-sources et multi-charges et surtout de mise en oeuvre de méthodes etd’outils de validation au travers de bancs tests variés où certains composants peuvent êtreréels.Ce travail analyse le gestionnaire énergétique « G-homeTech » comprenant plusieursfonctionnalités de gestion testées sur des bancs d’essai virtuels et hybrides qui permettent decombiner à la fois des composants matériels et logiciels dans les simulations. Cela a permisd'insérer des actionneurs communicants pour tester leur pertinence. Les validations menéesmontrent que le gestionnaire énergétique permet l'effacement de pointes de consommation etdes économies sur la facture énergétique globale tout en respectant les contraintes techniqueset réglementaires.Les évènements prédits ne sont pas toujours ceux qui se produisent. Nous avons alorssimulé de telles situations. La radiation solaire et la consommation totale des services noncontrôlables sont différentes de celles prédites. Cette différence a conduit à des dépassementsde puissance électrique souscrite qui a activé le mécanisme de gestion réactive du gestionnaireénergétique. Des ordres de délestage sont alors dynamiquement envoyés à certainséquipements. Ces ordres alimentent directement les modèles des équipements électriques.Selon les importances relatives données au coût et au confort, nous avons montré que legestionnaire énergétique permet de faire des économies substantielles en évitant lesconsommations durant les pics de prix et évitant les dépassements de souscription pareffacement, par modulation du fonctionnement des systèmes de chauffage et par décalage defonctionnement des services temporaires dans les périodes plus intéressante énergétiquement. / The building is an important energy node and an ideal support to develop and analyzethe effects of an Energy Management System (EMS). Because of its potential impact, such amanagement of global energy demand is important. However, to achieve these goals, severallocks must be removed. Beyond issues related to the distribution architecture, to models(including those relating to user behavior), sizing tools, the formalization of parameters,constraints and criteria, production systems and methods of connection to the grid, problemrelated to implementation of decentralized management tool and its validation are central. Mywork is part of this context. It focuses in particular on the development of energy models,strategies for energy management in a multi-source and multi-load configuration, andespecially, the implementation methods and the validation tools through various test bencheswhere some components are real.This paper analyzes the energy manager “G-homeTech” including several managementfeatures tested on virtual and hybrid test benches that combine both hardware and softwarecomponents in the simulations. This has put communicating actuators to test their relevance.The validations show that the energy manager allows the deletion of peak demand andsavings on the overall energy bill while respecting the technical and regulatory constraints.Predicted events are not always those that occur. We then simulated such situations.Solar radiation and the total consumption of uncontrollable services are different from thosepredicted. This difference has led to over-subscribed electric power which has enabled themanagement mechanism of reactive energy manager. Load shedding orders are thendynamically sent to certain equipement. These orders directly supply models of electricalequipment.According to the relative importance given to cost and comfort, we have shown that theenergy manager can make substantial savings avoiding consumption during price peaks andavoiding over-subscription by erasure, by modulation of heating system operation and byshefting the timed service operation in the most interesting periods in energy.

This work deals with computer simulation of a guitar combo. The complete simulation is divided into separate blocks and then transfer characteristics and frequency responses of each block are obtained from a circuit analysis of analogue prototype. After their aproximation, the transfer characteristics are implemented as waveshapers and frequency responses are simulated using digital filters designed according to their analogue prototypes. Designed algorithms are implemented as plug-in mudule in language C++.

This work deals with a computer simulation of an acoustic room using its impulse response. Two different approaches to the simulation are described with their pros and cons and then the work is focused on the physical approach, which uses room’s impulse response during the simulation. Several methods for the extraction of the impulse response of the acoustic room are mentioned with their conditions of use. The detailed description of various algorithms for a real time convolution computing is followed by the cost analysis of frequency domain block convolution algorithms. Several algorithms are chosen, implemented and tested in Matlab environment. Then the most effective of them is chosen to be implemented in VST technology as the plug in module for real time room simulation.

This thesis deals with a simulation of analogue audio effects using the nonlinear models that replace the analogue nonlinear devices in discrete domain. The thesis describes Volterra system model and simplified Volterra system model that can be realized in two ways, either Wiener model, or Hammerstein model. The method for the analysis and modeling of audio and acoustic nonlinear systems is presented in this thesis. This method allows through knowledge of the input swept-sine signal and the response of the analogue nonlinear system to the input signal to determine the coefficients of the discrete nonlinear system. This allows simulating the analogue nonlinear system in discrete domain. The method was first tested and then used successfully for simulation of the analogue nonlinear system in discrete domain. Concretely, it was simulated a musical guitar effect of the type of distortion. Last part of this thesis is devoted a description of VST technology and an implementation of VST plug-in module, which realizations Hammerstein model.

Commissioning of a machine is still representing a very challenging operation and most steps are still executed manually by commissioning engineers. A future goal is to support the commissioning engineers and further automate the entire integration process of a newly installed system with a minimum of manual effort. This use case is known as plug-and-produce (PnP). In this contribution a concept of the Industrial Internet of Things is presented to improve the commissioning task for a pneumatic handling system. The system is based on a service-oriented architecture. Within this context, information models are developed to meet the requirements of PnP to provide relevant information via virtual representations, e.g. the asset administration shell, of the components to the commissioning process. Finally, a draft of the entire PnP process is shown, providing a general understanding of Industrial Internet of Things fluid power systems.

These services include a Command and Data Acquisition Service, a Time Distribution Service, a Message Transfer Service, a File Transfer Service, and a CCSDS Packet Service. An Instrument & Subsystem “Plug & Play Service is currently under study, but is included in this paper for completeness.

Evolution of the household vehicle fleet : anticipating fleet compostion, plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) adoption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Austin, Texas

In today’s world of volatile fuel prices and climate concerns, there is little study on the relation between vehicle ownership patterns and attitudes toward potential policies and vehicle technologies. This work provides new data on ownership decisions and owner preferences under various scenarios, coupled with calibrated models to microsimulate Austin’s household-fleet evolution. Results suggest that most Austinites (63%, population-corrected share) support a feebate policy to favor more fuel efficient vehicles. Top purchase criteria are vehicle purchase price, type/class, and fuel economy (with 30%, 21% and 19% of respondents placing these in their top three). Most (56%) respondents also indicated that they would seriously consider purchasing a Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) if it were to cost $6,000 more than its conventional, gasoline-powered counterpart. And many respond strongly to signals on the external (health and climate) costs of a vehicle’s emissions, more strongly than they respond to information on fuel cost savings. 25-year simulations suggest that 19% of Austin’s vehicle fleet could be comprised of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and PHEVs under adoption of a feebate policy (along with PHEV availability in Year 1 of the simulation, and current gas prices throughout). Under all scenarios vehicle usage levels (in total vehicle miles traveled [VMT]) are predicted to increase overall, along with average vehicle ownership levels (per household, and per capita); and a feebate policy is predicted to raise total regional VMT slightly (just 4.43 percent, by simulation year 25), relative to the trend scenario, while reducing CO2 emissions only slightly (by 3.8 percent, relative to trend). Doubling the trend-case gas price to $5/gallon is simulated to reduce the year-25 vehicle use levels by 17% and CO2 emissions by 22% (relative to trend). Two- and three-vehicle households are simulated to be the highest adopters of HEVs and PHEVs across all scenarios. And HEVs, PHEVs and Smart Cars are estimated to represent a major share of the fleet’s VMT (25%) by year 25 under the feebate scenario. The combined share of vans, pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles (SUVs), and cross over utility vehicles (CUVs) is lowest under the feebate scenario, at 35% (versus 47% in Austin’s current household fleet), yet feebate-policy receipts exceed rebates in each simulation year. A 15% reduction in the usage levels of SUVs, CUVs and minivans is observed in the $5/gallon scenario (relative to trend). Mean use levels per vehicle of HEVs and PHEVs are simulated to have a variation of 753 and 495 across scenarios. In the longer term, gas price dynamics, tax incentives, feebates and purchase prices along with new technologies, government-industry partnerships, and more accurate information on range and recharging times (which increase customer confidence in EV technologies) should have even more significant effects on energy dependence and greenhouse gas emissions. / text

Assessing the sustainability of transportation fuels : the air quality impacts of petroleum, bio and electrically powered vehicles

Transportation fleet emissions have a dominant role in air quality because of their significant contribution to ozone precursor and greenhouse gas emissions. Regulatory policies have emphasized improvements in vehicle fuel economy, alternative fuel use, and engine and vehicle technologies as approaches for obtaining transportation systems that support sustainable development. This study examined the air quality impacts of the partial electrification of the transportation fleet and the use of biofuels for the Austin Metropolitan Statistical Area under a 2030 vision of regional population growth and urban development using the Comprehensive Air Quality Model with extensions (CAMx). Different strategies were considered including the use of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) with nighttime charging using excess capacity from electricity generation units and the replacement of conventional petroleum fuels with different percentages of the biofuels E85 and B100 along or in combination. Comparisons between a 2030 regional vision of growth assuming a continuation of current development trends (denoted as Envision Central Texas A or ECT A) in the Austin MSA and the electrification and biofuels scenarios were evaluated using different metrics, including changes in daily maximum 1-hour and 8-hour ozone concentrations, total area, time integrated area and total daily population exposure exceeding different 1-hour ozone concentration thresholds. Changes in ozone precursor emissions and predicted carbon monoxide and aldehyde concentrations were also determined for each scenario. Maximum changes in hourly ozone concentration from the use of PHEVs ranged from -8.5 to 2.2 ppb relative to ECT A. Replacement of petroleum based fuels with E85 had a lesser effect than PHEVs on maximum daily ozone concentrations. The maximum reduction due to replacement of 100% of gasoline fuel in light and heavy duty gasoline vehicles by E85 ranged from -2.1 to 2.8 ppb. The magnitude of the effect was sensitive to the biofuel penetration level. Unlike E85, B100 negatively impacted hourly ozone concentrations relative to the 2030 ECT A case. As the replacement level of petroleum-diesel fuel with B100 in diesel vehicles increased, hourly ozone concentrations increased as well. However, changes due to the penetration of B100 were relatively smaller than those due to E85 since the gasoline fraction of the fleet is larger than the diesel fraction. Because of the reductions in NOx emissions associated with E85, the results for the biofuels combination scenario were similar to those for the E85 scenario. Also, the results showed that as the threshold ozone concentration increased, so too did the percentage reductions in total daily population exposure for the PHEV, E85, and biofuel combination scenarios relative to ECT A. The greatest reductions in population exposure under higher threshold ozone concentrations were achieved with the E85 100% and 17% PHEV with EGU controls scenarios, while the B100 scenarios resulted in greater population exposure under higher threshold ozone concentrations. / text

<p>There is no standard format for posting blog entries, which results in many different web feed formats and APIs being used. This thesis work addresses the problem by determining the feasibility of the development of a plug-in based architecture, used in a mobile blogging application compatible with multiple service providers.</p><p>During the study, a definition of what a feasible architecture would be was made based on requirements set by the stakeholders. Six models that complied with this definition were designed and compared. One of them was selected for prototyping. The prototyping phase was intended to test if the architecture could be implemented in a mobile environment. The study revealed that it is feasible to develop a plug-in based architecture to solve the problem, although with some limitations due to the dependency of libraries for streaming XML transformations not yet implemented in J2ME.</p> / <p>Det finns inget standardformat för att posta ett blogginlägg, vilket resulterar i att många olika web feed-format och APIer används.
