Seydlová, Marie January 2021 (has links)
This diploma thesis is especially pedagogical oriented, it is focused on matters of speech therapy. In theoretical part, there are described issues of intact speech development and language skills of children, and also early literacy and malfunction of communication skills of pre-school children. This work is comparing two types of pre-school education. One of them is classic pre-school, the second one is alternative Montessori pre-school. Empirical part was realized with MABEL test battery. MABEL is diagnostic battery for evaluation of early literacy and skills for development of early literacy. There were used tests of elision and isolation of phones, fast naming of colours and pictures, writing of easy words and phones composing. Research survey was placed in two pre-schools. Respondents were early aged children, who attend these schools. The main objective of this work was to find and compare early literacy of pre-school children. The results were compared to standards from diagnostic battery and they showed, that Montessori respondents got slightly higher score in comparison to children of classic pre-school. However, results are little bit disorted, because of low number of total respondents.

Dambrauskienė, Rima 01 February 2011 (has links)
2. Tyrimo rezultatų analizė leidžia teigti, kad dauguma tėvų teigiamai vertina logopedinę pagalbą vaikui. Itin gerai vertinamas bendravimas su vaiku bei logopedo taikomi pagalbos būdai. Tyrime dalyvavę tėvai teigiamai... The professional preparation, knowledge and beliefs of kindergarten teachers in Saudi Arabia

Al-Jadidi, Nadia Ahmed A. January 2012 (has links)
The study used Social Cultural Theory as an analytical framework to understand the professional preparation of kindergarten teachers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). A multi-method approach to data collection was adopted, involving a questionnaire, interviews and documentary analysis of both the pre-school curriculum in KSA and the programme content. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches were therefore employed to achieve the research objectives. The research methodology was based on the interpretive approach and included a case study. The participants were student-teachers studying on the four-year teacher training programme at one of the universities in KSA. Responses to four hundred and nineteen questionnaires completed by student-teachers across the four years of the programme were analysed, and a detailed case study involving 32 student-teachers was carried out. These student-teachers were interviewed three times each over three terms, with a focus on the nature of their knowledge and beliefs. The quantitative and qualitative data were analysed using SPSS to summarise the results of the closed questions in the questionnaire and to compare the differences between the student-teachers’ perspectives in each study year. All interviews were taped and transcribed. The data were coded and recoded several times using the continuous comparative process. When broad categories/themes emerged, these created sub-categories. Similarly, the data gained from the questionnaire’s open-ended questions were also analysed qualitatively. The findings focus on the results from the questionnaire for each study year, followed by a direct comparison of student-teachers’ knowledge and beliefs across the four years. The findings from the interviews with student-teachers are presented separately for each study year in order that the development of their knowledge and beliefs over the four-year programme can be seen. The findings revealed that student-teachers’ beliefs and their knowledge were closely linked. Although student-teachers’ knowledge developed as a result of their learning, some of their beliefs about Early Childhood Education (ECE) in general seemed to remain stable over the period of their university course. Many factors influenced the training of the student-teacher within Saudi culture and practices, such as the cultural context, the society, national policy, religion, module content, styles of teaching, visits to kindergarten, self-learning, and others’ knowledge/experience and support. These others included friends, other student-teachers, and relatives who were studying on the kindergarten programme or worked in the field of ECE. The findings showed that student-teachers built their teaching identities on the wider social-cultural purposes of education in Saudi society, which were consistent with expectations of their roles in society. However, various constraints related to the university context, to the kindergarten context and to the social-cultural context influenced their preparation as teachers. The study indicated many limitations to the current apprenticeship approach, due to the predominantly transmissive style of education at university. Student-teachers were not progressively immersed in a more fully developed apprenticeship model in which teachers learnt about the cultures and practices of ECE within the contexts of practice. This study strongly challenges a system where student-teachers only have one term of teaching practice. It is argued that teaching practice should start much earlier in the programme and be extended. A model for developing professional preparation programmes of Initial Teachers (IT) in the field of ECE is presented. Implications arising from this study and recommendations which could improve Teacher Education (TE) in KSA are outlined. Finally, suggestions for further research are presented.

Educação física na educação infantil: análise da aplicação de um programa e estudo sobre o envolvimento das crianças a partir da escala de Ferre Leavers / Physical education in early childhood education: analysis of a programme application and study of children involvement from the Ferre Leavers scale

Flores, Kelly Zoppei 05 September 2008 (has links)
The main aims of this research are: to discuss the conception that five years old children have about what Physical Education is when a program about it is offered to them, and the way this conception changes after the program, as well as investigate and discuss the students´ involvement in activities proposed by the Physical Education program which is the base of this study. One of the groups, composed by 25 five years old children from a municipal São Paulo City puerile school, had 32 fifty minutes Physical Education classes twice a week. This group was interviewed at the beginning and at the end of the program and the aim of this interview was to evaluate the conception they previously had about what Physical Education is. The interview was interpreted in the light of content analysis methodology (TRIVINOS, 1987). The results highlighted positive and meaningful changes about the groups point of view about what Physical Education means to them. One half of the group was chosen, randomly, to be filmed during seven program classes. To analyze these classes, the Movement Scale for young children, proposed by Ferre Leavers, which presents a list of 8 involvement signs, was used. These 8 signs are: 1) concentration; 2) energy; 3) complexity and creativity; 4) facial expression and posture; 5) persistence; 6) reaction time; 7) oral expressions; and 8) satisfaction. These mentioned characteristics (signs) were used to point out these young childrens involvement level and, besides, were a very useful methodological tool for classifying, from 1 to 5, the childrens involvement level: a) Level 1: no activity; b) Level 2: frequently interrupted activity; c) Level 3: more or less continuous activity; d) Level 4: intensive movements activity; e) Level 5: continuous intensive activity. By using the Movement Scale, the childrens involvement level in the activities was checked. Moreover, it was evidenced that the used methodological tool can be an important support to the teacher who wants to investigate and get better pedagogical practices, because it allows a wide variety of ways to analyze whether the environment is appropriate or not, what kind of interaction does the teacher have with children, what kind of interaction do they have with each other, and so on
