Longtemps délaissée comme source primaire des études historiques en Espagne, la presse est devenue, depuis les travaux pionniers d'Alberto Gil Novales, une source incontournable pour nombre de chercheurs. A côté des rubriques consacrées aux seules informations et des articles de fond, qui intéressent essentiellement l'histoire événementielle et celle des mentalités, les diverses annonces qu'accueillent généralement les périodiques permettent des études socio-économiques particulièrement utiles en ce qui concerne le XVIII° siècle. María José Seoane a déjà exploité ce genre de sources pour la période 1808-1819 à partir de la Gaceta de Madrid et du Diario de Madrid. Pour notre part, nous attachant à la période qui couvre le règne de Charles IV (1788-1808) et utilisant les annonces de librairie publiées dans l'ensemble des périodiques madrilènes de cette période, nous entendons ne pas nous contenter dans notre thèse de produire les listes des ouvrages annoncés mais, à partir de celles-ci, faire le bilan de la production imprimée pendant la seconde moitié du XVIII° siècle, étudier les réseaux de diffusion de ces ouvrages ainsi que les stratégies mises en place par les auteurs et les éditeurs avant de constater les succès et échecs de leurs entreprises. Nous pensons apporter ainsi une contribution utile à l'étude du livre et de la lecture et permettre ainsi de mieux appréhender ce qui fut le premier vecteur de diffusion des Lumières en Espagne. / Long neglected as a primary source of historical studies in Spain, the Press has become a valuable source for a lot of researchers since the pioneering work of A.G.N. Alongside sections solely devoted to information and feature stories, which are of particular interest to the history of events and mentalities, the numerous notices which make up the contents of periodicals allow for particularly useful socio-economic studies as regards the eighteenth century.Maria José Seoane already relied on this kind of sources from La Gaceta de Madrid and Diario de Madrid for the period spanning between 1808 and 1819. As far as we are concerned, focusing on the period covering Charles IV's reign (1788-1808) and using bookshop publications from all of Madrid 's periodicals of the time, we intend not to confine our thesis to the simple enumeration of the reading lists but, on the contrary, to evaluate the print production of the second half of the eighteenth century, at the light of those reading lists. We also intend to study the diffusion networks as well as the strategies that were developed by writers and editors alike before the successes or failures of their undertaking. We thus hope to make a valuable contribution to the study of books and book reading and therefore allow for a better understanding of what was the first vehicle for the dissemination of the ideas of The Enlightenment in Spain.

L’imaginaire de la typographie : objets et pratiques d’un appareil d’incarnation / The typography’s environment : objects and practices of an embodiment system

Objet de la vie quotidienne, la typographie est un produit socioculturel et un outil de délégation que l’homme place entre lui et le monde. Comment organise-t-il cette médiation ? Tel est l’enjeu principal de notre sujet.Située à la croisée de son faire et de son agir, elle est le résultat d’un processus cognitif dont les modalités de production et de circulation se fondent sur un principe de mise en relation communicationnelle d’ordre anthropogénique. En examinant l’étude de sa matérialité technique au regard de sa réalité culturelle, la typographie est autant envisagée comme un « appareil d’incarnation » – on parle de corps aussi bien pour la lettre que pour un texte – que comme creuset d’une pratique. À la fois instrument de perception et moyen d’action, elle permet, à l’échelle du caractère, l’invention typographique tout en donnant lieu à un double régime d’interprétations d’ordre technique et sémiotique. Si le parcours se déploie au cœur des pratiques de métiers liées à la conception de caractères et s’intéresse aux différents contextes d’énonciation typographique, il débouche sur une réflexion en réception, à propos des usages de la typographie, en tant que manipulation culturelle ouverte à tout un chacun, pour une ressaisie du monde. / As a daily life object, typography is a sociocultural product and transfer tool that people put between them and the world. How do they organize this mediation ? That is the main issue of our subject.At the crossroads of the doing and acting concepts, typography is the result of a cognitive process, which production and circulation’s methods are based on communication’s principles from the Henri Van Lier’s Anthropogeny. Studying its technical materiality according to its cultural reality, typography is considered as an “embodiment system” – in French, we call “body” the typeface as well as the text – and also as the crucible of this practice. As a sensitive agent and practical method, typography makes typeface invention possible while creating a double regime of interpretations based on its technology and semiotics. Whereas our words are related to trade practices which are then connected to type face design and various contexts of typographical enunciation resulting in a thought about reception. The fact is that uses linked to typography exist as cultural experiments accessible to all who desire it to challenge the world.

The goal of the thesis is to assess the quality policy in connection to customer satisfaction in a selected organization through the ISO 9001 standard. The Jihočeské tiskárny (South Bohemian Printing Works) was established in the Fifties after the nationalization and grouping of local Czech and German printing works. During the privatization in the Nineties, Jihočeské tiskárny a.s. were established as a part of the Passauer Neuer Presse Verlag Group. In 2004, Obchodní tiskárny became the majoritary shareholder of JČT, and since 2006 JČT has been part of the printing OTK Group. The process and the system of assessment of customer satisfaction in Jihočeská tiskárny, a.s. is integral part of the company system of quality management. It is a part of the process of Creation and examination of contract in accordance with the company directive Q {--} S 7/1 Creation and examination of contract. The questionnaire that constitutes one of the annexes to the above stated directive (under the name of F 07 {--} Q 009 Questionnaire, as annex No. 9 to the directive) has several parts: assessment of order quality, assessment of satisfaction with order prices, assessment of satisfaction with service conditions provided to the customers, assessment of satisfaction with deliveries and logistic services. The evaluation of customer satisfaction from the point of view of product quality showed where there are problems that must be solved. The causes of most frequently reclaimed or criticized products and defects consist in mixture of products (particularly labels). The causes of displays of dissatisfaction with product prices and with price and payment conditions can be seen in insufficient work with clients and customers. That means particularly approximation of needs, technologies, input materials, principles and rules needed for production to all customers during mutual negotiations. The assessment of satisfaction with service needs and satisfaction with deliveries and logistic services brought not only identification of remarks and critique but also characteristic of causes. The whole process of assessment of customer satisfaction and the very evaluation of customer satisfaction in Jihočeské tiskárny, a.s. depends on the approach to solution of a whole complex of all operations performed and to actions to ascertain specific client satisfaction in the relevant period.

Práce se zejména zaměřuje na vývoj a kvalitativní zpracování dřevořezové výzdoby tisků, vydaných v severínsko-kosořské tiskárně v průběhu jejího sedmdesátiletého působení. Zmíněny zde budou počátky severinské tiskárny a rané knižní ilustrace v kontextu se zahraničními inspiracemi, které měly vliv na pozdější práce jednoho z nejvýznačnějších pražských tiskařů, na osobnost Pavla Severína z Kapí Hory. Grafická výzdoba tisků vydaných Pavlem Severínem z Kapí Hory dosáhla vysoké úrovně, srovnatelné se zahraničními ilustracemi. Na tradici a význam kvalitní grafické výzdoby tisků pak navázali jeho následovníci, Jan Severín mladší a Jan Kosořský z Kosoře, jejichž tiskařské produkci zde bude také věnováno nemalé místo. Práce bude zakončena seznamem tisků vydaných od roku 1488 až do roku 1557, včetně stručného popisu dřevořezových ilustrací....

An investigation into levels of service provided by private security officers at government printing works in Tshwane

Effective and satisfactory security service is critical to private security officers (PSOs) working in the private, state-owned and public sectors as it plays a pivotal role in improving organisational productivity and helps to promote good working relationships. When PSOs project poor attitudes, clients are seriously affected by such negative behaviour and the level of service rendered will eventually deteriorate. This study sought to understand and explore the factors that contributed to unsatisfactory services rendered by PSOs at GPW in Tshwane. The researcher utilised a nonexperimental quantitative research approach and a self-administered questionnaire survey was used to collect data. Data collected was analysed and interpreted using quantitative methods and procedures. The findings emanating from the research revealed that the levels of service rendered by PSOs at GPW in Tshwane was ineffective and unsatisfactory and various factors contributed to ineffective service delivery.
