A integração entre tecnologia e produto nas empresas de base tecnológica de São Carlos / Product and technology integration in technology-based firms in São Carlos

Kurumoto, Juliana Sayuri 24 June 2009 (has links)
Innovation not only master a technology, generating prototypes and patents. We need to go beyond, to introduce products to market that make use of the technology developed. One of the challenges therefore is to ensure the integration of technology and product development in order to minimize risks and maximize the outcome. The theoretical model presents problems of integration, discussed in this work, and there are few reports on the status of national companies in practice. The literature review, combined with a case study, demonstrate the elements involved in technology-product integration phenomenon. It also identified as two key components, called the synchronization strategy and innovation strategy. The research aims to characterize and analyze the innovation and synchronization strategies in the context of innovative product designs of technology-based firms affiliated to the Technological Park of São Carlos. The survey found 24 successful projects for each company that participates or participated in ParqTec or participated in a total of 35 companies that designed products involving hardware and software. Companies adopt predominantly simultaneous synchronization and the technology development originates from the need for a product desired by the market (top-down strategy). The result indicates that the vast majority of companies do not differentiate the product and technology and therefore does not have differentiated and integrated management of both, which, according to the literature, may lead to waste of time and greater risk in innovation. The work suggests possible causes and issues for future research.

Integração do ecodesign ao modelo unificado para a gestão do processo de desenvolvimento de produtos: estudo de caso em uma grande empresa de linha branca / Integration of ecodesign into the unified model for managing the product development process: case study in a large company of white goods

Guelere Filho, Américo 13 November 2009 (has links)
Ecodesign aims to develop innovative and competitive products that cause less environmental impacts (eco-efficient products) and involves the systematic introduction of environmental requirements to the Product Development Process (PDP). The aim of this study is to propose a generic model for managing the product development process that addresses the Ecodesign. In theory this model could help companies both in the construction of a standard model of PDP as well as for benchmarking the existing ones. Except for the definition of product strategy and generating ideas for new products, for which the model proposed by Crawford and Benedetto (2006) was adopted this study was built based on the Unified Model proposed by Rozenfeld et al. (2006). The introduction of Ecodesign to the unified model was supported by Ecodesign practices and promoted mainly changes in the original´s model existing tasks. Only the hypothesis that the proposed model can be used as a benchmark was tested by conducting a case study, whose results confirmed this hypothesis. Also as a result of the case study, one can prove the need for strategic guidance in Ecodesign to complement their technical dimension of product design. This study also hopes to have contributed to the systematization of existing eco-design practices as well as the establishment of strategic guidelines for companies to begin with the theme of Ecodesign. Thus, it is expected facilitate adoption of Ecodesign for a larger number of companies, which would increase the supply of eco-efficient products, helping thus to reduce the environmental impacts caused by products.

Conceptual Design of Seat Belt Installation for Rear-facing Child Car Seat

Niklasson, Johan January 2019 (has links)
Children are more vulnerable in vehicles compared to adults in collisions. Two main reasons are the different body structure between these two and vehicles are more designed to fit adults. Children’s head is larger relative to their body mass and their neck muscle ligaments are still not fully developed. Children are therefore in need of a restraint system that match their anatomy to make them protected during transportation in vehicles. Crash tests have shown that if children up to the age of five use rear-facing child car seats are the chances reduced of injuries by five times compared to front-facing. This report describes the development project of a concept which enables to fasten a rear-facing child car seat with the car seat belt. The objective was to design the fastening components for a rear-facing child car seat that suits children up to five years and considering the regulations, ECE R44, and the Swedish Plus test. This is a Master thesis that has been in collaboration with Company Xand Havd Group in Gothenburg. The project aimed to deliver a digital concept of the fastening components with information about the material, manufacturing methods, product costs, and design form. Also, was the aim to gather information through the project on what it takes to develop a rear-facing child car seat. The project consisted of five phases: planning, pre-study, ideation, detailed design and at last presentation of the result. The first phase was to plan and coordinate the project. A pre-study was then made investigating the products on the market, interviews with both users and experts regarding safety for children in vehicles, relevant literature for developing a child car seat was also collected and regulations were studied. The ideation phase developed ideas and three concepts were taken forward for development. One concept was chosen after decision making and the concept was more detailed designed in CAD.The result is presented through a CAD model which illustrates the design form and chosen material. The result is a concept that fastens the car seat belt with two hooks which can be connected to the child car seat base. In the base is two buckles designed to connect with the hooks, which uses the same fastening way used in the vehicles to fasten passengers. This is supposed to increase the usability of the installation. Material, manufacturing methods and product costs have been considered and are presented with the result.

Hartmann, Karina Klein January 2017 (has links)
This study is concerned with the methods for New Product and Services Development in digital startups. Its purpose is to explore current practice of digital startups to develop a better understanding of what processes and practices are used, how they are chosen and how startups perceive the suitability of these methods. To achieve this goal, a qualitative research was carried out, through in-depth interviews supported by a semi-structured interview guide. The guide was based on the study of classic processes, such as the Stage-gate, and emerging processes, such as Lean Startup and Design Thinking. Ten startups were interviewed. The results of the interviews were analysed for their content, using thematic analysis approach. The final analysis is based on three main themes: processes and practices in use, influences and criteria for process and practice selection, and interviewees' perception of the adequacy of processes and practices. It was identified that the startups do not adopt any specific process completely, but rather create a work method from the adaptation of several influences. The most influential process is Lean Startup. The work processes follow an iterative, adaptive and user-centric approach. The work method is considered adequate and directly linked to the results, and the user-centered and iterative development is considered necessary for the context of a digital startup.

Produktkoncept av textila produkter för fritidsbåtar / Product concept of textile accessories for boats

CHENG, CHI-TAK, JOHANSSON, MIKAEL January 2010 (has links)
<p>Titel: Product concept of textile accessories for boatsYear of publication: Spring 2010Author: Chi-Tak Cheng & Mikael JohanssonSupervisor: Johan HeinerudExaminer: Lena BerglinInstitution: The Swedish school of textileProgram: Textile product- and business development with focus on entrepreneurCourse: Bachelor thesis15 hpThe report includes how to go about making a product concept for a product development company that in return will sell this proposal to a potential customer. The work will be followed throughout the design process, from getting out of a business mission to a finished proposal. The company that the author is working with is named Navicura International Ltd, its a company that works with low-cost production in China. They provide their customers with a comprehensive concept of product design, production, assembly, testing, packaging, quality control to freight, logistics and warehouse storage. The idea is to give the customer a package so customers do not have to search around but will find everything in one company. They care about relationships, and works close to the customer to get a good co-operation, hence a good results. The problem to face is that today there is a large market for textile accessories for boats, particularly products like seat cushions, protective bags, storage bags and canholders and more. The market is dominated by a company called Robship, thanks to low competition can take a high price with a high margin on their products. Robship works a lot to sell a quality of life, an image of the good life and enjoyment of boating. They work hard to sell Robship as a brand and manage by that to be at a higher price range of its products. Navicura want to offer similar products to potential clients who sell boat accessories today. Why Navicura want to enter the market is because they feel that they have the skills and that they have the ability to produce similar goods at lower prices compared to Robship. In addition, Navicura sees an opportunity to expand and attract new customers when their production is suitable for the manufacture of these products.</p><p>Program: Kandidat inom Magisterutbildning i fashion management med inriktning modemarknadsföring</p>

Almedahls / Almedahls

HILMERSSON, FRIDA, OTTOSSON, SOPHIE January 2010 (has links)

Konceptframtagning av icke kundanpassat isolerat lasthus / Concept development of non costumized insulated loadhouse

Bergström, Adam, Bergvad, Jonas January 2017 (has links)
This report describes the bachelor thesis project conducted by Adam Bergström and Jonas Bergvad at the School of Engineering at Jönköping University 2017. The thesis was carried out on behalf of Portsystem 2000 AB in collaboration with Semcon AB as a final part of the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Product Development and Design. The assignment was to develop a non- customized insulated loadhouse at concept level. A loadhouse is the link between the warehouse and the truck, used to protect the goods from external climate during loading and unloading. The company’s customers who are dealing with temperature sensitive products require an insulating function of the loadhouse, and therefore the company formulated this degree project with focus on product development. With a broad starting point, a pilot study was carried through at the beginning of the project to investigate the requirements and wishes that were put on the product by the company’s customers. With a defined requirement specification, the product development process progressed and resulted in a concept of a non-customized insulated loadhouse that Portsystem 2000 AB can use in further development of their future products. The insulating function of the loadhouse could be met by using the same wall and roof elements previously used by the company and therefore the project focused on optimizing the construction of the product by keeping down the amount of components and striving for a low installation height. Many thanks to Åsa Dencker, Johan Pelmas and Johan Örtlund for guidance during the project.
