Komunikace a jazykový management bikulturních párů. Sociolingvistická případová studie. / Communication and Language Management of Bicultural Couples. A Sociolinguistic Study.

Janstová, Jana January 2015 (has links)
This thesis deals with nowadays current issues: the communication of bicultural partnerships. The subject of investigation is primarily a process of communication, more precisely communication problems and causes of conflicts that may arise between partners with different backgrounds and native language. The basic question is what can cause these problems and what strategies the communication participants use to solve and avoid such problems. The theoretical basis of the thesis presents the Theory of Language Management. In the empirical part the obtained data is analyzed using both methods of quantitative form (questionnaire) and qualitative methods (research diary, participant observation and finally an interview).

Quantitative petrographic investigations of porphyritic rhyolitic laccoliths of the Halle Volcanic Complex, Germany

Mock, Alexander 13 July 2009 (has links) (PDF)
Felsic phenocrysts of the laccoliths have straight size distributions (characteristic lengths 3.4 to 36 mm) and R-values from 1.34 to 0.78 (randomly distributed, no touching frameworks). Laccoliths have crystallinities from 10 to 30%. Textural coarsening possibly played a role in crystallization history. Serial sectioning reveals true shapes, sizes and three dimensional size distributions, non-touching frameworks, aspect ratios from 1.7:1.5:1 to 8.7:1.9:1 and a minimum sampling size of ~200 crystals. Different textural varieties develop late in system evolution and differed in density (~1%), viscosity and, thus, level of emplacement. Phenocryst populations formed on a timescale between 10 days and 2000 years, growth during emplacement is negligible. Models for filling and cooling of laccoliths suggest timescales from few 100 to ~20000 years. Contacts of laccoliths appear brecciated and sometimes show intercalation of magma and host sediment under ductile deformation. Dimensions of laccoliths plot in the field for such intrusions on a logarithmic width vs. thickness plot. Laccoliths intruded as distinct magma batches. More laccoliths than recognised before can be distinguished. Comparing felsic laccolith complexes in Late Palaeozoic transtensional basins, gives rise to new types of laccolith complexes termed Donnersberg and Halle type.

Cross-cultural study on decision making of German and Indian university students

Tipandjan, Arun 04 June 2010 (has links) (PDF)
The dissertation consists of an introduction and three empirical articles. The introduction gives the theoretical background, integrates the three articles, and elaborates on future research questions. The first article investigates the important decision in the lives of German and Indian university students to identify the important areas of decision making. The second article examines the structure of real life decision making and reveals the underlying factors of five major decision areas. The third article investigates the similarities and differences on decision making between German and Indian students using prior qualitative findings in a large quantitative survey.

Family-Based Modeling and Analysis for Probabilistic Systems

Chrszon, Philipp, Dubslaff, Clemens, Klüppelholz, Sascha, Baier, Christel 11 May 2020 (has links)
Feature-based formalisms provide an elegant way to specify families of systems that share a base functionality and differ in certain features. They can also facilitate an all-in-one analysis, where all systems of the family are analyzed at once on a single family model instead of one-by-one. This paper presents the basic concepts of the tool ProFeat, which provides a guarded-command language for modeling families of probabilistic systems and an automatic translation of family models to the input language of the probabilistic model checker PRISM. This translational approach enables a family-based quantitative analysis with PRISM. Besides modeling families of systems that differ in system parameters such as the number of identical processes or channel sizes, ProFeat also provides special support for the modeling and analysis of (probabilistic) product lines with dynamic feature switches, multi-features and feature attributes. By means of several case studies we show how ProFeat eases family-based modeling and compare the one-by-one and all-in-one analysis approach.
