The importance of CSR in developing the reputation of coffee shop companies in Vietnam

Tran, Thi Thu Hien, Kauma, Clare January 2020 (has links)
Background Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has been an important concept for decades. Since then, it has gradually become one of the standard business practices. Due to a vast stream of amelioration about the concepts and practices, CSR has grown and expanded its focus to a global scope. The research study is particularly focused on coffee shop companies in Vietnam. It is stated that Vietnam is one of the two major coffee exporting countries in the world. Coffee is one of the traditional beverages in Vietnam as a consequence of the influence of the French colonial period. In the vortex of globalization, a lot of new concepts have raised, such as the CSR concept, sustainability. So, to keep pace with the changes in the world, Vietnam cannot be out of that growth circle. Purpose The purpose of this thesis is to examine and identify the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility in developing the reputation of coffee shop companies in Vietnam. Method A Qualitative Research study was conducted in order to fulfill the purpose and research question of the study. The qualitative data was collected through semi-structured interviews. These interviews were carried out from both the customers and coffee shop companies in order to get the best results. Conclusion The findings from our research showed the series of advantages that CSR activities bring to a company, especially in terms of improving reputation in the industry of coffee shops. Even though this is seen as a new topic in Vietnam, many companies are adopting and putting more attention on it.

Mot balanserad styrning i teamorganiserad produktion

Dabhilkar, Mandar January 2003 (has links)
During the 1990s two contrasting paths to the organization of work have emerged in the Swedish engineering industry: the structure-conservative and structure-innovative. This thesis deals with the latter, and focuses primarily on necessary changes in management control systems that support structureinnovative forms of team-organized work. Three types of management control systems are studied in this thesis: performance management and measurement systems, systems for continuous improvements and wage systems. The empirical base of this thesis consists of data from an exploratory survey study as well as a multiple case study. On a general level, the survey study indicates a lack of congruence between structure and systems. Many companies seem to have started to move along the structure-innovative path but have not changed the management control systems accordingly. However, there are good reasons for doing so. The companies that have chosen the structure-innovative path perform better in terms of productivity, quality and cost reduction. These are also the companies that have changed their management control systems to the greatest extent. The case study provides examples of how management control systems may be changed to fit structure-innovative forms of team-organized work. The main focus has been on the use of Balanced Scorecard. How a strategic continuous improvement capability was developed and sustained in the studied companies is illustrated. The findings extend previous research on new production concepts, which, this thesis argues, are not to be regarded as an issue of technology and vertical division of labour only, but also of supportive management control systems. /
QC 20100525

SUSTAINABIL(IT)Y : How IT service providers can incorporate sustainability into business practices

SÄVENSTEDT, JENNY, BIGESTANS, MAIJA January 2014 (has links)
Companies all over the world are seeking ways to address sustainability related issues, both to meet external expectations and as a way to find opportunities for growth and innovation. Many attempts have been made in providing descriptions and guidance in how sustainability can be adopted within corporations. However, much of earlier research has focused on the manufacturing industry where materials and production processes are central in the concept. How sustainability can be incorporated in service industries, more specifically by IT service providers (ITSPs), is a somewhat unexplored area even though the potential for sustainability related risks as well as opportunities are high. Previous research in this area that has set out to construct models of this phenomenon has not managed to consider the characteristics of ITservice providers to the fullest. This study has investigated how ITSPs can incorporate sustainability into business practices through a multiple-case study with four ITSP and one technical consulting company. The data has been collected through interviews and document analysis, and analyzed both separately nd by comparison. Additional interviews were held with experts and professionals with relevant knowledge to strengthen the findings. This study resulted in model that can serve as an analytical tool and presentation format hen incorporating sustainability in business practices within the IT Professional service industry. The results showed that incorporation of sustainability in practices needs to be divided in two main categories; incorporating sustainability in internal operations and incorporating sustainability in customer offerings. Within these categories the study identified a number of activities that ITSPs can undertake to incorporate sustainability and what outcomes they may have. It was concluded that the activities in within internal operations were primarily focused n building trust towards customers. The study also showed that incorporating ustainability in customer offerings can be done to different extent with different outcomes. The critical activities to successfully incorporate sustainability in customer offerings has been described in the study and visualized in a 3-level map to further provide guidance. A main finding within this category was that interaction with the customer is crucial to successfully deploy service offerings that incorporate sustainability. The results can be generalized to other ITSPs in similar settings and parts can also be argued to be adoptable to other companies in the professional service industry that rely on intense technology.

Rosengren, Ellen January 2020 (has links)

Railway scheduling problems and their decomposition

Strotmann, Christian 28 January 2008 (has links)
Railway scheduling problems are quite popular scheduling and optimization problems which are treated in a large variety of papers and projects. Many special and even quite general situations have been investigated theoretically and also a variety of applied approaches tested on real-world instances has been developed. This thesis mainly deals with the problem of scheduling trains in railway networks with respect to given routings, fixed minimal travelling times, and other constraints like time-windows. It combines the theory of some well-known scheduling models with its applications in railway scheduling. The railway scheduling problems considered in this work are closely related to job-shop scheduling problems with blocking and some additional constraints. Therefore part of this research is related to these shop scheduling problems. Theoretical scheduling models are extended, complexity results are derived and solution methods are proposed. Most results are applied to the considered railway scheduling problems. In addition to approaches which treat railway problems as a whole also decomposition methods for these problems and corresponding solution methods are presented. These solution methods are tested and compared with simple greedy procedures.

CPLEX-basierte Produktionsablaufplanung

Herdt, Anika, Scheidig, Marcel, Jentner, Chris, Sand, Guido 27 January 2022 (has links)
