Flognman, Elise, Grönlund, Emilia, Ticehurst Falk, Maja January 2021 (has links)
This report is a part of a larger project with the aim of developing a proof-of-concept prototype. The project was started on the initiative of Company X and is a collaboration between them and the University of Borås. Company X are a logistics consultant firm specialized in warehousing operations. Through this project Company X hope to strengthen their standing on the market and offer their customers new and innovative solutions. The purpose of this project is to, with the assistance of AI, calculate in what cluster within a warehouse a product should be placed in order to create more efficient picking routes and to research the market in order to evaluate the business potential for this kind of service. This specific report aims to conduct a market analysis for the potential service. It will do so by conducting interviews and creating a theoretical framework consisting of relevant literature. When performing the market research and analysis of the potential IT-service there are a few limitations caused by a number of factors that could potentially affect the significance of the end result. The service is not yet developed and cannot be described in detail but only as an idea, which could make it difficult for the interview respondents to fully understand the service. The report will also be limited for certain practical reasons such as the Covid-19 pandemic. Because of this, the report has not had the opportunity to conduct the interviews with potential customers on site but have been conducted online, via link. The theoretical framework has two different main focus areas. The first area addresses basic warehouse logistics and difficulties in selling high technology products, while the second area includes marketing strategies and strategic marketing planning. The market analysis will consist of a SWOT-analysis and an STP-analysis. The report has concluded that the service has potential and suggests that company type B is the best suited potential customer. Personal and demand driven sales are also considered helpful factors when selling high-tech products and solutions.

Strategies for enhancing the circularity of Lithium-ion Batteries.

Malik, Tanveer Ahmad January 2023 (has links)
Li-ion batteries have gained great popularity among researchers and practitioners as an environmentally friendly energy storage solution for more environmentally friendly electric vehicles (EVs). However, because of the increased demand for Li-ion battery-powered EVs, and some issues with battery design, legislation, collection and sorting, recycling, and material recovery, achieving sustainable mobility through the circularity of Li-ion batteries is a major challenge. This study aims to identify the challenges as well as develop strategies for enhancing the circularity of Li-ion batteries in Sweden. Following a systematic literature review, two primary research questions were investigated: 1) what are the current challenges and opportunities for the circular economy in lithium-ion battery end-of-life management? 2) how the circularity of LIBs in Sweden could be enhanced? This study employed PEST and SWOT analysis, as well as 11 interviews with industry experts and researchers are performed, to determine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the circularity of lithium-ion batteries in Sweden. Following that, various strategies were developed to address the identified challenges and improve the circular economy of these batteries. Finally, the developed strategies are validated through expert interviews, and various recommendations are outlined. The study's findings are significant and can assist policymakers, investors, and industry professionals concerned with the circularity of lithium-ion batteries in developing appropriate decisions and better planning for the Swedish transportation sector.

Mainstreaming sustainable energy access in the development planning proccess of Ethiopia

Aragaw, Zereay January 2012 (has links)
For least developing countries with large rural population living in severe poverty such as Ethiopia, access to modern and sustainable energy services is a real challenge. Dealing with the lack of modern energy services at local level and the needs for economic development at national level is a major challenge in the policy and decision making process. This particular study takes the case of Ethiopia to investigate the existing challenges and future prospects of mainstreaming sustainable energy access into the country’s development planning process, and the consequences for international development financiers, national policy makers, private actors and local energy planners and experts. The roles and approaches of various developmental agencies are reviewed based on the effectiveness and sustainability of cooperation models with governmental institutions. To this end, this study establishes an understanding of institutional, financial and policy elements related to both state and non-state actors. Accordingly, readiness of the rural energy sector to adopt sector–perspective and national development approaches to mainstream sustainable energy access is investigated. The thesis emphasizes the need for all stakeholders to cooperate and take advantage of local potentials and external opportunities in light of the new momentum for sustainable energy access in the global agenda.
