Gymnasieelevers syn på vuxna i skolan i allmänhet och skolkuratorer i synnerhet

Fällman, Sara January 2009 (has links)

The purpose of this study was to examine how Swedish high school students view school staff members, in general, but in particular school counselors. The research questions focused on getting the students descriptions of the staff members roles and functions within the school. The study was conducted using focus group interviews. The answers were divided into themes and then analyzed using role theory and previous research. The results showed that the students relationships with family, friends and previous knowledge about the staff members in school, affects their willingness to seek the support of school staff members. For a student in need of support to approach a school counselor, it's important that the student has previously been acquainted with them. There is no general consensus among students on what a school counselor's tasks consists of. It is also rare that a student will voluntarily contact a school counselor themselves if they don't feel they know them well. The experience students get when interacting with staff members at school affects the students decisions regarding who to approach when in need of support.

Det osynliga motståndet : En kvalitativ studie om kön- och maktstrukturens påverkan på skolkuratorns arbete mot sexuella trakasserier / The invisible repression : A qualitative studie of how gender and power impacts school councelors work against sexual harassment

Herting, Emma, Lindblom, Johanna January 2020 (has links)
Sexual harassment is a significant problem in school despite policies and guidelines designed to combat the issue. The aim of this study is to illustrate, through feminist theory, how gender and power structures affect school counselors in their work to prevent sexual harassment. With the use of qualitative method we have collected our material through focus group interview with school counselors working at junior high schools. Subsequently, we analyzed the material by using narrative content analysis, and created a collective narrative by combining the school counselors stories. The theories we use include structural theory, feminist theory, and the concept of hard and soft repression. Our results show that school counselors have a structural understanding of sexual harassment, but they face different kinds of resistance in their work to combat the issue: including resistance from themselves, from the organisation, and from society as a whole. Structural understanding is paramount to understanding the importance of a preemptive approach.

Att se utsatta elever : Tre skolkuratorers perspektiv på hedersrelaterat våld och förtryck / Seeing exposed students : Three school-concelor´s perspectives of honour-related violence and oppression

Eriksson, Sofia January 2006 (has links)

/
This thesis in Social Anthropology is based on interviews with three school-councelors. It´s about their experiences and perceptions of honour-related violence and oppression. Honour-problemacy has it´s roots in the dominance of the collective over the individual, patriarchal patterns and collision between cultures. The school has a large responsibility to see the exposed students, but there are different opinions on who are the exposed. Normally, girls are seen as the victims of the violence of the father and brothers in their families, but the experiences of school-councelors show that all individuals in families where honour-related violence and oppression exists, seems to be perticipants in the violence, and that the boys also can be the victims.

Alla Helsingborgs barn är våra barn och vi ska ta hand om dem tillsammans

Johansson, Anna, Jönsson, Elin January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this study was to examine how the school counselors experience their role in the school when it comes to working against bullying. We also wanted to examine how the cooperation works between school counselors and the rest of the school personnel. To obtain useful data for our analysis we used a qualitative method which includes six interviews with six school counselors from municipal and independent primary schools in Helsingborg. To deepen our knowledge even further we have included three theories which are the theory of profession, role theory and Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory.Since this study is based on interviews with school counselors that works in both municipal and independent primary schools, their experience of the preventive work has also been different. The school counselors that works in the municipal schools focus their preventive work through the anti-bullying program Olweus were they for example use surveys to measure the students wellbeing. The independent schools does not work after a specific program and thus has a larger action space to work with. The result of this study shows that the work against bullying varies from the different schools. The school counselors experience of their role in the work against bullying also varies where some of them felt that they have a significant role in the preventive work where others meant that the responsibility lays on the students mentors and teachers. Through this study cooperation has been a consistent theme where the informants believe that the cooperation between them, teachers and the students families is necessary to be able to do a good preventive work in the schools. The cooperation seems to work well in the school but there is parts of the work against bullying that needs clarification when it comes to accountability.
