Le langage de la volonté : Conceptualisation des actes de parole comme expressions volitives corporelles / The Language of the Will : Conceiving Speech Acts as Volitive Expressions of the Body

Jacoby, Josy 17 March 2012 (has links)
This thesis is a transdisciplinary conceptual work. It develops a general theory of will and language acts. A conative pragmatic approach is proposed in order to account for the dynamic aspects of communicative behavior. Articulating evolutionary biology and philosophy of language, it takes the body's point of view on the use of language. The will is the body's eagerness to live before it becomes mental power. Emotions, as they are expressed, automatically and fluently speak the language of the will. Joy says « yes I want to » and sorrow says « no I don't want to ». Here is where speech acts take shape. The expressive movements of body and voice are conceived as body language acts, communicating implicitly our desires and commitments, thus giving force to speech. Verbal language acts, declarations, demands, offers, etc. are considered as ramifications of the prior body language acts, precising in their turn how and what, or not, is wanted. Arguing is based upon empirical works from several disciplines: human and animal ethology, affective and volitive neuroscience, psychology of emotions, social psychology of motivation. Some references are made to dramatic arts and a philosophy of the body and the will links the whole thesis together. The conceptualization leads to an illustrated dimensional model which categorizes a great number of both body and verbal language acts. From this model onward speech acts as volitive expressions of the body can be obtained by combination.

O problema da liberdade na filosofia de Arthur Schopenhauer / The problem of freedom in the philosophy of Arthur Schopenhauer.

Santos, Katia Cilene da Silva 06 August 2010 (has links)
In this dissertation, we seek to shed light on the contradiction stated by Schopenhauer as apparent between the need that rules the human conduct through the motives and character, and freedom in the phenomenon, implied the possibility of denial of the will in single individuals. We have gone through some of the Schopenhauers work, investigating the conditions that reveal this apparent contradiction. Thus, we examine on the one hand, the denial of free will, and on the other hand, the way Schopenhauer explains how individuals can, through knowledge, escape the law of motivation and, through the suppression of their choice, restore free will.

Schopenhauer e o Oriente / Schopenhauer and the East

Mesquita, Fabio Luiz de Almeida 26 October 2007 (has links)
This dissertation analyzes the eastern influence received by Schopenhauer during the formation from his philosophy and the consequence generated in his delayed texts in the religion concept. It is focused, mainly the Oupnek\'hat (Upaniñad) work, translated by Anquetil-Duperron in 1801/1802 and studied by Schopenhauer since 1814. In it are contained eastern concepts as Maya, \"Illos tu és\" (Tat tvam asi) and Trimurti, that had been used, respectively, for Schopenhauer in his theories of the representation (Vorstellung), compassion (Mitleid) and Will of life (Wille zum Leben). It is tried, thus, to bring authenticity for the innumerable affirmations of Schopenhauer that place the Upaniñad, altogether the philosophies of Plato and Kant, as the main influences for the arise of its thought. Such eastern teachings received in little age had contributed Schopenhauer to interpret the religions as Metaphysical allegoric. But, the most transparent would have to be valued (Hinduism and Buddhism) on the other hand, the obscurest than would have to be rejected (Judaism and Islam). At last, the present dissertation aim to detach the eastern thought in the work of Schopenhauer, therefore the same already was white of injury and forgetfulness on the part of many studies.

Pérez García, Roger Antonio 25 March 2019 (has links)
Tesis

Schopenhauer e a Índia: apropriações e influências da Asiatisches Magazin, Mythologie des lndous e Asiatick Researches no período de gênese da filosofia schopenhaueriana / Schopenhauer and India: appropriations and influences of Asiatisches Magazin, Mythologie des Indous e Asiatick Researches in the period of genesis of Schopenhauers philosophy

Mesquita, Fábio Luiz de Almeida 05 March 2018 (has links)
This study analyzes the presence, appropriation and influence of India in the period of genesis of the Schopenhauer\'s philosophy (1811-1818). In order to sustain such a thesis, this work tries to develop a rigorous analyzis, both philosophic and historic. The historical materials analyzed here are three works consulted by the philosopher and borrowed from the libraries of Weimar and Dresden between 1813 and 1816: Asiatisches Magazin (two volumes), Mythologie des Indous (two volumes) and Asiatick Researches (the first nine volumes). In them it can be found important Indian concepts to Schopenhauer, such as Māyā, Brahman, Ātman, Brahmā, Viṣṇu, Śiva, liṅgaṃ, saṁnyāsins, Buddha, Tat tvam asi, metempsicose, nirvāṇa, among others. Concepts that are present in the Schopenhauerian Manuscripts, as well as in his capital work, The World as Will and Representation, published in 1818. My goal is to demonstrate that the \"Schopenhauerian India\" was built upon contributions that transcendend those he obtained from the Oupnek\'hat (Upani?ads). Indeed, as I will try to prove, these three works on India were fundamental to the understanding acquired by the philosopher about Hinduism and Buddhism.

O nó do mundo: sobre o conceito de indivíduo em Schopenhauer / The world\'s knot: the concept of individual in Schopenhauer\'s philosophy

Poyares, Marianna Monteiro Drumond 12 April 2012 (has links)
Estes três pontos, conectados em espiral, fazem compreender porque Schopenhauer, fiel herdeiro da tradição kantiana, é responsável por uma revolução que aponta sua filosofia para outras como Nietzsche, Freud e Bergson / Study the concept of individual in Schopenhauers philosophy following an axe composed by three main arguments: the Double point of view of the world as Will and as representation, the identity between subject of knowledge and subject of Will, and the concepts of ideal character and empirical character. These three points, connected in a spiral, lead to the understanding of how can Schopenhauer be, on one side, a faithful heir of the kantian tradition, and on the other, responsible for a revolution that points to thinkers such as Nietzsche, Freud and Bergson.
