Automated Testing of Robotic Systems in Simulated EnvironmentsAndersson, Sebastian, Carlstedt, Gustav January 2019 (has links)
With the simulations tools available today, simulation can be utilised as a platform for more advanced software testing. By introducing simulations to software testing of robot controllers, the motion performance testing phase can begin at an earlier stage of development. This would benefit all parties involved with the robot controller. Testers at ABB would be able to include more motion performance tests to the regression tests. Also, ABB could save money by adapting to simulated robot tests and customers would be provided with more reliable software updates. In this thesis, a method is developed utilising simulations to create a test set for detecting motion anomalies in new robot controller versions. With auto-generated test cases and a similarity analysis that calculates the Hausdorff distance for a test case executed on controller versions with an induced artificial bug. A test set has been created with the ability to detect anomalies in a robot controller with a bug.

Previous issue date: 2017-12-19 / Based on the theoretical and methodological assumptions of labovian sociolinguistics and the multidimensional geolinguistics, this research aims to investigate the variable realization of the post-vocalic lateral / l / in the position of syllabic coda in Bahia communities of the Linguistic Atlas of Brazil Project (ALiB Project). For this purpose, we analyze a corpus with 24 interviews with natural informants from the following locations, members of the ALiB Project network: Euclides da Cunha, Barra, Jacobina, Seabra, Santo Amaro and Santa Cruz Cabr?lia. According to the methodology of the ALiB Project, the informants are stratified by both sexes, with four informants in each city, divided into two age groups (range 1 ? 18 to 30 years old and range 2 ? 50 to 65 years old), graduated, at most, until High School. To carry out the research, the following hypotheses were raised: the / l / in the final position of the syllable is variable in the speech of the investigated communities, with the vocalized variant [w] already widely disseminated in the speech from Bahia cities, but not in a categorical way; the interaction between linguistic and social factors in the variation of / l / is the vector of this phenomenon; the variation of / l / points to a change in progress. The results point to a tendency to change, in which the erasing of the dependent variable has been abandoned by the younger informants in favor of the vocalized variant, so that the implementation of the vocalization presents different stages in each of the selected localities / Pautada nos pressupostos te?rico-metodol?gicos da sociolingu?stica laboviana e da geolingu?stica pluridimensional, esta pesquisa tem por objetivo investigar a realiza??o vari?vel da lateral p?s-voc?lica /l/ em posi??o de coda sil?bica em comunidades baianas do Projeto Atlas Lingu?stico do Brasil (Projeto ALiB).

Previous issue date: 2013-03-26 / This study presents a discussion about the creative process in the context of poetry, a field in which we must consider not only the poem, the act of writing, but what happens, and especially what precedes it. We believe there is an element that is essential in this process: the silence. There is silence before the poem, its primordial to the existence of the poem. And there is silence after the poem is written and after it is read. Several important theorists position themselves in relation to the creation of poetry, many of them citing just silence, and lend their theories to strengthen our arguments. Among them are Blanchot, Bachelard, Trevisan, Pavese, Orlandi, Pound, Paz, Lezama Lima, Borges, Barthes, Val?ry, Zambrano, among others. Joins them no more a poet who also makes theory, but a poet, ?lvio Vargas, who brings the poetry itself the possibility to identify traits that may say that there is something beyond the poem, and that this is something beyond the raw material for the poetic word. This, in turn, arises in the intervals between one and another silence.

Previous issue date: 2014-10-31 / CAPES / Understanding the structural properties of dislocations is essential since these defects govern the processes plastic deformation of materials. Particularly in semiconductors, these studies are important given the relevance of these materials for microelectronics. In this work, our focus will be the 90o partial dislocations in silicon. For the theoretical study of atomic-scale crystal dislocations, we use simulations based on semi-empirical quantum-mechanical methods closely linked to the tight-binding treatment, since it considers in its formulation that crystalline electronic states can be described in terms of atomic orbitals: Density Matrix Method Tight-Binding Order-N (DMTB). This method has a low computational cost which allows us to work with very large systems atoms in structures representation -including thousands of sites. In short, we describe how to produce and represent the 90o partial dislocations in Si, we consider three models for its core structure: a unreconstructed where the atoms have an almost fivefold coordination; a model reconstructed with period equal to the perfect lattice; and a model with twice period comparing with the perfect lattice. Finally, we calculate the range in energy of the system with the distance between the dislocations and the free surface of Si.

In this thesis, contributions are made to the interactive simulation of switched reluctance motors (SRMs) from the perspective of concurrent engineering.Firstly, after a brief introduction to the history of switched reluctance motors (SRMs), they are placed in the context of electric drives. The basic principles of concurrent engineering are then described by means of the rapid prototyping of electric drives.Secondly, the design of drives using SRMs and the principles behind their operation are presented. An overview of SRM modeling is given and an original treatment of magnetization curves is presented.Subsequently, the simulation of electric drives from the perspective of concurrent engineering is carried out. After a study of how simulation (analogical, numerical, analogical-digital, multidisciplinary and physical) has evolved, the procedures of concurrent engineering are demonstrated. The procedures start out by modeling drives with SRMs using SIL (software-in-the-loop) techniques. This makes it possible to choose and to fit the most suitable controls by using a virtual prototype of the drive and integrating the procedures used in HIL (hardware-in-the-loop) techniques. The final outcome is a digital platform for the development of drives using SRMs.After a general description of the drive, the programs used in the interactive simulation of the components (static converters, position detectors, current sensors, loads, etc.) of the complete drive with an SRM are described. Various strategies ranging from control (single pulse, control of current by means of hysteresis and PWM) to conditions of operation (permanent, transitory and faulty schemes) are also considered.A platform for the development of drives using SRMs in real time by means of rapid prototyping is designed. This platform is flexible, modular and robust, which makes it possible to configure different topologies for the converter and to implement different control strategies in real time for the converter and the drive. This avoids the habitual problems of testing and adjusting, which take up a great deal of time in conventional drive design, thus making it possible to focus on the drive's conceptual features.Once the development platform has been built, it is used to validate the results obtained by means of SIL simulation. The platform's capacity to contribute to the development of SRM drives and its advantages for teaching and research in this particular field are demonstrated. Finally, all the original contributions are put forward, the conclusions are presented and future lines of research are described.
