Éric Chevillard et la littérature : Absences et présences du cliché dans l'écriture d'Éric Chevillard / Éric Chevillard and literature : Absences and presences of cliché in Éric Chevillard's writingKuleshova, Ekaterina 26 June 2014 (has links)
This PhD thesis is devoted to the prolific and original work of the contemporary writer Éric Chevillard. Its subject is to define the isotopy of cliché in Chevillard's writing, in which the relationship to literature mostly goes through the manipulation of stereotypes, topoi and accepted ideas. Thus, questioning the banality appears like one of the major constants of his texts. In order to indicate the characteristics and main modalities, the work is organized around three axis: the role of verbal cliché in the narrative stylistic organization, then the observation of its intertextual dimension through the cliché of quotation which denounces the trivialization of literary reference, and, finally, the questioning of the doxa ruling modern society. This triple manipulation of cliché defines Éric Chevillard singular position in a contemporary literary field based on notions of gap, ironical distance, and rejection of prosaic realism in literature. The last movement of the study aims at demonstrate that, beyond its own fiction, the cliché is being called on by Chevillard-critique as one of the essential criteria of literary quality, both on his blog, L’Autofictif, or in his weekly column in Le Monde des livres. This is where the cliché truly acquires the isotopic value insofar as its contestation provides the entire work cohesion.

Literární ztvárnění aféry mezi učitelkou a žákem / Literary Depictions of Affairs between Female Teachers and Male Secondary School StudentsHobbs, Denisa January 2015 (has links)
This master thesis examines two novels which depict affairs between female teachers and male secondary school students: Notes on a Scandal by Zoë Heller and Tampa by Alissa Nutting. In the theoretical part, female sex offenders, erotic age-preferences, child sexual abuse, and educator sexual misconduct are discussed. In the practical part, the two novels are analyzed in relation to the scholarly findings presented in the theoretical part. Despite the great differences between the two fictional depictions of educator sexual misconduct, both novels contain numerous parallels to real cases. The most notable difference between them is their approach to gender stereotypes. Although Notes on a Scandal allows an alternative reading, it more or less reinforces stereotypes, while Tampa has the clear objective to conquer them. KEYWORDS female sex offenders, child sexual abuse, educator sexual misconduct, hebephilia, stereotypes, English literature, American literature

Evropské národy v komiksové sérii o Asterixovi / European nations in the Asterix seriesKozoňová, Zuzana January 2016 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to confront predominantly Celtic nations depicted in the comic series about Aste rix by René Goscinny and Albert Uderz with information derived from literary as well as archaeological sources and consequently to describe current stereotypes and political and social events appearing in the series. Since its origin, Asterix series has become a world phenomenon with readers across both the social and age spectrum. Numerous allusions to the recent past, which the authors decided to humorously comment on through their cartoon characters, can be found in the series. However, each of the stories takes place in the historical background of the times around the year 50 BC, and it seems interesting to observe to what extent Uderzo and Goscinny stick to the sources and when their fantasy takes over. Keywords: Asterix, René Goscinny, Albert Uderzo, phenomenon, Celtic nations, ancient times, the Gauls, the Belgae, the Picts, the present nations, international

Vliv genderu na profesionální výběr zpráv: Posuzují editorky zpravodajskou hodnotu událostí jinak než editoři? Existují "ženské" a "mužské" preference zpravodajských hodnot? / Gender Influence on Professional News Selection: DO Female Editors Judge News Value of Events Differently Than Male Editors? Are There "Female" and "Male" Preferences of News Values_Erwerthová, Jana January 2011 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to find an answer to the question if gender influences news production and news selection. It is hypothesized that in national daily broadsheet newspapers, the editor's gender has no influence on the professional behaviour and therefore editors' preferences of topics and news values should be identical. The theoretical part deals with different approaches to the topic of gender influence on the news production, describes the situation and stereotyping of female journalists and strategies they choose to deal with it. Next it briefly recapitulates the main news values theories and dichotomy of "hard" and "soft" news. The research part describes a study of gender influence on decision-making processes during news selection in Czech national daily broadsheet newspapers. The statistical methods used herein include the Student's T-test, Z-test and ANOVA. The statistics show no significant differences between male and female editors in consideration of news topic importance (to the reader), news values assessment or the selection of printable news. All the editors in the researched respondent population tend to favor "hard" news and to consider the same values and topics important in the same manner regardless of their gender. Despite slight differences in individual topics, this...
