This programme is considered a new model on basic health attention and contains a more humanized approach with greater influencing power on the family environment, in addition to promoting social-reality-transforming practices. The theoretical reference which gives this study support is the popular health education. It has been chosen the qualitative approach, through a case study, making use of bibliographic living and recorded sources. It consists on documents analysis which verse about the implementation of the programme in the municipality and on semi-structured interviews, whose material was grouped in common topics and interpreted from a theoretical referential viewpoint raised to the analysis of the problem. It highlights, as main results, information that many Community Agents are introduced to their occupations possessing precarious training and the scarce process of continued education; the educational actions described, which range from individual follow-up during home visits to interventions with groups of hypertension patients, diabetics, pregnant women, remaining the focus of these interventions still much too attached to the programmes standardized by health authorities, with prescribing obliquity. It was verified that users of the programme compliment the teams proximity to the community, acknowledge the importance of their job, but request more doctors, more medicines and less disassembling in the groups, since there is a great potion of ill people in Brazil who protest for assistance and quality in the service. It concludes that when it comes to group activities there is concern towards the programmes in the agenda, lacking of integrality in the educational actions, since these latter are reduced to lecturing. These are insufficient actions, when promoting the population s autonomy and understanding is the aim. However it is observed that the Health Community Agent can promote social support to the user, favoring new contacts, helping in the access to health services. The Health Community Agent enlarges the patients Social Network with empathy and solidarity, making possible better living and health conditions to people, contributing, consequently, to the humanization of the Family Health Programme.

Morální filosofie Bernarda Williamse / The Moral Philosophy of Bernard Williams

Haikl Koukal, Šimon January 2020 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to explore Bernard Williams' moral philosophy in its entirety. This objective is motivated by the critique which is sometimes being forced against Williams. This criticism is based on the objection that his thinking is thoroughly destructive in relation to philosophical ethics. The purpose to explore Williams' thinking in its entirety implicitly questions such an objection for it basically consists in the identification of the constructive moments of Williams' thinking and linking them with his skeptical attitudes. Accordingly, the project of this thesis is to show how Williams' attack on morality and moral system is being completed in notions of shame, truthfulness, and authenticity, which he develops in his late work and which delineate the alternative conception of ethics and ethical life to prevailing legalistic model.

Sunda energieffektiva väggkonstruktioner för morgondagens flerbostadshus / Energy effective wall construction for tomorrow's sustainable housing

Gredin, Anders, Freiling, Martin January 2012 (has links)
This thesis has been carried out at the Bachelor's program of construction engineering and design at the Royal Institute of Technology and in collaboration with Ramböll Sweden. The purpose of this report is to examine and analyze today's outer wall structures for the future of energy efficient buildings. The outer wall construction that is part of the building envelope has an important and significant flaw to meet future energy requirements of buildings. For a long time different wall construction projects have been designed to create wall panels with low U-values. For a wall structure to function, there are a number of confounding factors to be taken into account. Therefore, the thesis will focus on outer wall structure building physical properties such as air density, moisture, structure and stability.  In order to solve the task we have been in contact with eight different contractors in the Stockholm area and conducted field trips out in production. There are several factors that determine the choice of exterior wall construction for the project and because of this there are a number of different types of exterior wall structures used in today's construction of apartment buildings. In our comparison of six different wall constructions, we have analyzed the construction of physical characteristics and production methods on the same basic parameters. Since the outer walls differ between light and heavy body, we have chosen to present one from each class. Our conclusion is that a light stud walls with steel stud frame and a heavy wall construction with in-situ shell wall structure is best equipped to continue being the main option in exterior wall construction for apartment buildings. The report is written for readers who knowledgeable in the field of building technology, i.e. it is mainly addressed to interested parties in the construction industry and students in the field.

A qualitative study of Investigating the adoption of blockchain technology in higher education

Roshanzade, Tahere January 2023 (has links)
This study has the purpose to investigate the existing state of adoption of blockchain technology in higher education, exploring the obstacles, and potential associated with its implementation to provide an updated and concise overview of the challenges and assess the feasibility of adopting blockchain in higher education. This research includes a literature review to examine the current status of blockchain in higher education. Additionally, a qualitative approach involving semi-structured interviews is utilized to gain an in-depth understanding of blockchain adoption, the potential challenges of its adopting, and its prospects within higher education by investigating the perspective of the interviewed academic community.Furthermore, the TOE framework is used to categorize adoption challenges into technical, organizational, and environmental dimensions. Challenges identified include technical complexity, resistance to change, financial constraints, perception of immaturity, lack of awareness, limited interoperability, insufficient skills, inadequate organizational support, regulatory compliance, cultural factors, and ecosystem readiness.Besides, the TAM is utilized to highlight the potential of blockchain based on respondents’views. It also explores how challenges from the TOE framework impact users’ perceptions of blockchain’s ease of use and usefulness in higher education. The overall findings indicate that adopting blockchain in higher education presents challenges such as resistance to change, cost concerns, lack of awareness, cryptocurrency bias, technical complexity, regulatory compliance, and ecosystem readiness. As a consequence, considering the identified level of readiness of universities to embrace new technologies, it is evident that blockchain is still in its early stages of recognition in higher education. However, its potential benefits are suggested such as reducing bureaucracy, enhancing communication and collaboration, improving payment systems, and ensuring secure document storage. It will require time for the full potential of blockchain to be acknowledged and accepted within the field of higher education

Behaviour of Headed Stud Shear Connectors in Composite Beam.

Lam, Dennis, El-Lobody, E. January 2005 (has links)
In composite beam design, headed stud shear connectors are commonly used to transfer longitudinal shear forces across the steel¿concrete interface. Present knowledge of the load¿slip behavior and the shear capacity of the shear stud in composite beam are limited to data obtained from the experimental push-off tests. For this purpose, an effective numerical model using the finite element method to simulate the push-off test was proposed. The model has been validated against test results and compared with data given in the current Code of Practices, i.e., BS5950, EC4, and AISC. Parametric studies using this model were preformed to investigate variations in concrete strength and shear stud diameter. The finite element model provided a better understanding to the different modes of failure observed during experimental testing and hence shear capacity of headed shear studs in solid concrete slabs

Behaviour of headed shear stud in composite beams with profiled metal decking

Qureshi, J., Lam, Dennis January 2012 (has links)
This paper presents a numerical investigation into the behaviour of headed shear stud in composite beams with profiled metal decking. A three-dimensional finite element model was developed using general purpose finite element program ABAQUS to study the behaviour of through-deck welded shear stud in the composite slabs with trapezoidal deck ribs oriented perpendicular to the beam. Both static and dynamic procedures were investigated using Drucker Prager model and Concrete Damaged Plasticity model respectively. In the dynamic procedure using ABAQUS/Explicit, the push test specimens were loaded slowly to eliminate significant inertia effects to obtain a static solution. The capacity of shear connector, load-slip behaviour and failure modes were predicted and validated against experimental results. The delamination of the profiled decking from concrete slab was captured in the numerical analysis which was observed in the experiments. ABAQUS/Explicit was found to be particularly suitable for modelling post-failure behaviour and the contact interaction between profiled decking and concrete slabs. It is concluded that this model represents the true behaviour of the headed shear stud in composite beams with profiled decking in terms of the shear connection capacity, load-slip behaviour and failure modes.

Análise teórica e experimental de pisos mistos de pequena altura compostos por vigas metálicas e lajes alveolares de concreto / Theoretical and experimental analysis of slim floor systems composed by steel beam and concrete hollow core slabs

Souza, Patricia Tavares de 22 March 2016 (has links)
On the world market, there is a visible tendency to turn buildings construction more industrialized and rationalized in order to reduce waste, accelerate the construction speed and ensure higher quality to them. The adoption of structural elements with a degree of industrialization can bring benefits regarding costs, labor, construction time and environmental impact. In this context, steel and concrete composite structures satisfy this need, since steel and concrete elements can be prefabricated, with only lifting and mounting steps to be performed on site, reducing use of formwork and shoring. A type of slim floor system consists in precast concrete hollow core slabs supported on the lower flange of steel beams. The major advantage of this solution, compared to conventional composite beam, is reducing the overall height of the floor. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the behavior of slim floor with prestressed concrete hollow core slabs through push-out and bending tests. In the proposed solution, the transfer of forces between steel beam and hollow core slabs was made by stud bolts and cast on site concrete. The obtained results proved to be promising in terms of slim floor behavior, significantly increasing the system stiffness regarding the isolated steel beam. In addition, a numerical modeling of the studied slim floor system was developed, using finite element based software DIANA®, in which the numerical model adequately represented the behavior of the composite beam, allowing parametric analysis.
