Bydrae van psigodinamiese groepintervensies tot organisasie-ontwikkeling / The contribution of psychodynamic group interventions to organisational development

Geldenhuys, Diederik Joachim 30 June 2005 (has links)
Text in Afrikaans / This research dealt with the contribution of psychodynamic group interventions to organisational development (OD). The research consists of a qualitative investigation and was based on a case-study design with the use of multiple cases. Three different cases were presented, namely where a psychodynamic group intervention was used together with another intervention, where obstacles in a group were to be solved and as an in-house working conference. Random sampling was also done within the cases. Three interventions were done, data was gathered and analysed by means of content analysis, and the results were reported. It was found in all three cases that a unique contribution was made. Regarding the first case, the intervention was the beginning of a process of change whereby the participants were enabled to develop their identity as a group, from a family business to a company. Participants became aware of underlying conflict, started to own their roles in it, and to take responsibility for addressing the dynamics themselves. In the context in which the intervention was used, the contribution was, however, restricted because its value was only experienced after the intervention. Regarding the second case, the obstacles influencing the functioning of the team were addressed efficiently after the intervention. Participants were authorised to manage their boundaries more efficiently and to address role differentiation, leading to more open communication and a better work climate. Regarding the third case, it was found suitable especially for learning diagnostic competencies from a psychodynamic paradigm. Learning occurred on a personal level resulted in the ability of participants to identify dynamics in their organisation and to present similar interventions in their work place. Recommendations were made for the use of psychodynamic group interventions from a qualitative paradigm, as well as regarding the necessary competencies and a training programme for presenting psychodynamic group interventions. / The Historical Imagination of Late Enlightenment.

Smyčka, Václav January 2016 (has links)
The dissertation deals with the transformations of historiography and perception of the historical time in the last third of 18th and at the beginning of the 19th centuries. The central questions it investigates are: How has the way of locating (Czech) society in time changed? How did representations of past fundamentally change between 1760s and 1820s, in the era of the so-called "Sattelzeit"? What is the relationship between these changes and the way in which history was represented? What impact did the changes of media, book markets, and culture of reading have in this time? What are the political and aesthetic consequences of these changes? The answer to these questions is found in five fundamental innovations of Enlightenment historiography. These innovations (understood according to Niklas Luhmann's system theory in order to reduce complexity) - fundamentally influenced the way in which late Enlightenment thinkers conceptualized the flow of historical time and the praxis of historiography. It is about the spread of cumulative concepts of knowledge in historia litteraria related to the growth of book markets, narrativisation of the historical experience (as a result of emergence of the newly incoming fictional genres of the historical novels),, philosophy of history as a new idealistic...

Principles of organisation of psychic energy within psychoanalysis : a systems theory perspective

Connolly, John Patrick 05 1900 (has links)
The concept of Psychic Energy holds a very important position in the field of Psychoanalysis, particularly within the theories of Sigmund Freud. These ideas, including the notion of a constancy of excitation, or the ‘pleasure principle’, as well as energy transfer and ‘cathexis’, are important not only historically in terms of the subsequent development of Psychoanalytic theory, but also remain a core conceptual assumption of a number of concepts in contemporary use. However, the central ideas related to psychic energy have undergone little substantial revision or development since the end of Freud’s career, despite a number of compelling critiques that call into question the central definitions and assumptions of these concepts, particularly the principles defining their governance. Grobbelaar (1989) has suggested that a number of problems within Psychoanalytic theory can be powerfully addressed through recourse to central propositions from the field of systems theory, and the case is made in the present thesis that some of the core problems with the energic theory may indeed be the result of a pre-systems epistemology. The present study proposes that psychic energy be defined as recursively constituted through three levels of the human system (inorganic, organic and informational), and that the core principles of regulation at the informational level is not constancy, or pleasure, but rather the necessity of maintaining organisation. In line with this proposition, the study reviews a number of theoretical propositions from systems theory and cybernetics (including the notions of energy defined as ‘information’ or ‘free energy’) and how they may be usefully deployed as principles of organisation of psychic energy within the psychoanalytic framework. Examples of how these principles may be used to explain Freud’s core observations of ego functioning are presented as well. / Psychology / Ph. D. (Psychology)

Sustaibability in a structure of integrated systems / Sustentabilidade em uma estrutura de sistemas integrados

Jaqueline Maria da Silva 02 September 2005 (has links)
Decisions related to the sustainable development involve the following: what to sustain and how to sustain. In general, these decisions are based on assumptions about the permanence of certain characteristics of the systems involved, be them natural or socio-economic. Moreover, these decisions can be only of ethical character or may involve formulations that include mechanisms for effective control, and search to steer the whole system towards a sustainable regime. The formal frameworks and the lines of thought employed in this process generaly relay in the maintenance of natural resources stocks and other factors. They do not consider, however, variations in technological production processes and social preferences. They do not, as well, take into account the spontaneous variability in the structure and components of the natural systems involved. This work aims an analysis of some existing concepts of Sustainability. It looks foward towards a stronger integration between the mathematical models and structures in Sustainability studies, in particular while they relate to the interaction between the ecological, social and production areas. An investigation of Sustainability integrating all these areas has not yet been made, not only due to a lack of perception of variabilities about man-nature systems, but also because their models and representations have diverse nature. The evolution of ecosystems, for instance, is represented as dynamical systems, while the interactions between people or organizations are represented as games and iterations in the productive system always appear as problems of control and allocation. When expressed in mathematical terms, these descriptions confine themselves to areas of mathematics that are not easily integrated and which techniques do not keep, at the moment, a narrower relation. We propose, in this work, the language of general system theory as a means to represent the mutual interactions and influences between the natural, productive and social systems. We search also for a more integrated form to describe mathematically problems in these areas. This allows, at least, for a clearer perception of what to sustain and of the interaction between components and processes in the mutable cases. This, in turn, provides a better stand about how to sustain.

As últimas duas ressonâncias estão associadas com excitações de baixa freqüência / Abstract: This work concerns of two parts, in the first we will make the study of the dynamics of dual-spin-spacecraft modeled by a simple mechanical system consisting of an unbalanced rotor attached to an elastic support and driven by non-ideal source. In the second part we will formulate the complete nonlinear differential equations governing the nonlinear motions of a beam able to undergo bending and pitching in space. The formulation is based on a variational principle and accounts for all the nonlinearities due to deformation and gravity gradient effects. The nonlinearities due to deformation arise due to geometric effects, which consist of nonlinear curvature and nonlinear inertia terms. Expanded equations governing the nonlinear perturbed motions about an equilibrium are also developed for the case when the beam is in circular orbit. Such equations are suited for a perturbation analysis of the motion, and nonlinearities up to cubic order in a bookkeeping parameter are retained in them. The coupled nonlinear pitch-bending response of a free-free beam in a circular orbit, when the beam is subjected to a periodic external excitation, is analysed too. The nonlinearities present in the differential equations of motion are due to deformations of the beam (i. e. curvature and inertia nonlinearities) and to the gravity-gradient moments. Perturbation methods are used to analyse the motion. Several resonant motions exhibited by the system are analysed in detail, namely, harmonic resonances when the frequency of the external excitations, O, is either near the natural frequency of the flexural or of the pitch motion, and a superharmonic resonance when O is near one half of the natural frequency for the pitch motion. The latter two resonances are associated with very low excitation frequencies / Mestrado / Mecanica dos Sólidos e Projeto Mecanico / Mestre em Engenharia Mecânica
