Organizing the Organization : Recommendation of development for explicit and tacit knowledge sharing at a University Library in North AmericaGröhn, Pia, Kasu, Divyateja, Swiac, Michał, Zafar, Ali January 2017 (has links)
This report works with a case provided in the course IS/IT for Organizing, Communication and Coordination II at Linnaeus University, Sweden. The case involves a University in North America that is renovating and revamping and, in essence, reinventing its library along with the services offered by the library and the facilities within. Along with the university staff in charge of the library renovations, the group analysed the possible gaps in the current working ecosystem and discussed how they can be improved upon. It was found out and understood that there is a lack of cohesion in the way the library staff generate, store and share documents and resources, which was intertwined with the lack of team culture and sense of professional community. Useful information was said to be in silos in the form of staff members that were somewhat disconnected from each other. This information was often in the form of explicit knowledge that was not easily accessible and tacit knowledge that was, in a sense, locked away since it was involuntarily not being shared. The group preparing this report used the theoretical background of knowledge management and knowledge sharing, along with a Soft Systems Methodology approach, to provide recommendations that the professionals in charge of the library renovations could execute upon during their plans. The recommendations revolve around organizing the organizational knowledge and bringing more cohesiveness to the way the staff and systems generate, store and share this knowledge, leading the way towards a knowledge-friendly culture. The proposed solutions elaborated by the group take Nonaka’s two types of knowledge (1994) into consideration: explicit and tacit knowledge. The recommendations begin with organizing the knowledge with aims of easier retrieval by users, using Shared Folder platforms or Content Management Systems. The active creation and sharing of knowledge shall be supported using blogs, wikis and e-learning authoring systems. Sharing of tacit knowledge can be enhanced by a Yellow Pages of the library staff, Community of Practice and through mentoring and networking activities. /
Rapport inom Informatikskurs 5IK501 IS/IT for Organizing, Communicating, and Coordinating II, läsåret 2016/2017

Report in the Informatics course 5IK501 IS/IT for Organizing, Communicating, and Coordinating II, year 2016/2017

Management znalostí / Knowledge managementKurišová, Anna January 2010 (has links)
The main goal of my thesis is to suggest a methodology for a knowledge management implementation and to implement this methodology in a chosen organization. The last part of my thesis deals with the critical aspects of the knowledge management implementation and possible solutions. Organizations, which haven't started with knowledge management implementation yet, are in a disadvantage compare to the organizations which have already implemented knowledge management into their processes. The importance of a human capital is still growing and the organizations need to know how to work with knowledge of their employees effectively.

Kolektivní dominance v soutěžním právu a její zneužití / Collective dominance in competition law and its abuseKolarczyková, Eva January 2012 (has links)
The aim of the diploma thesis is a comprehensive analysis of the concept of collective dominance, in particular with reference to the evaluation of its applicability and utility in practice. The first chapter deals with the main features of the oligopoly market and Czech and European legal provisions on the abuse of a dominant position and mergers within which it has evolved. On base of the analysis of Court of Justice and General Court judgements the second chapter explains the notion of the collective dominance and examines the obligatory conditions of the collective dominance, as well as the factors which influence these conditions. The third chapter concerns the concept of collective dominance with regard to competition law taxonomy. It compares not only the test of collective dominance applied pursuant to the article 102 TFEU with the test applied according to the Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 on the control of concentrations between undertakings, but also the concept of collective dominance with the agreements pursuant to the article 101 TFEU. It also deals with abusive practices typical for oligopolies. Beside the explanation of the UK legislation the last two chapters illustrate decisions of competition authorities in the Czech Republic and in the United Kingdom and analyse and compare them. The diploma thesis is concluded by the analysis of main shortcomings of the concept of collective dominance and the evaluation of actual state of the examined topic with the aim to abstractly summarize knowledge gained through the thesis.

Reagují ceny pohonných hmot v České republice asymetricky? / Do fuel prices respond asymmetrically in the Czech Republic?Kohoutek, Jakub January 2013 (has links)
It's a subject of extensive discussion whether or not fuel prices on gas stations respond faster on an increase of oil price than on its decrease. Though this phenomenon is widely discussed in scientific literature, there's still no study focused on an asymmetric behavior of fuel prices on the Czech market. This diploma thesis fills the gap and explores the reaction of fuel prices in response to cost shocks in the environment of the Czech Republic. At the first section of thesis, there is described several economic theories explaining asymmetric reaction - especially the theories based on consumer behavior under the imperfect information assumption and the theory of tacit collusion according to which the price of previous period provides companies on oligopolistic market with a focal price for implicit cartel agreement. In the Empirical part of the thesis, I use an error correction model allowing asymmetric reaction to analyze if the retail fuel prices in the Czech Republic really react with different lag on positive and negative cost shocks. Based on several time series of gasoline and diesel prices, presence of asymmetric price reaction was proven between wholesale and retail level of supply chain.

Knowledge Mapping within an Organization / Mapování znalostí v organizaciNožička, Josef January 2009 (has links)
Search for the knowledge within big companies could become pain not only for knowledge seekers, but as well for knowledge managers in case they want a solution, that reflects well actual state of knowledge of a company, allows discovering emerging areas of knowledge and at the same time its maintenance does not require huge amounts of effort. This doctoral thesis starts by a comprehensive analysis of needs of expertise location of current company, description of theoretical backgrounds, related approaches and fundamental directions in expertise location, analyses their advantages and disadvantages and on the ground of this analysis presents a new expertise location technique that tries to avoid disadvantages of current expertise location systems by keeping their advantages. The technique is designed to respect the needs of effective knowledge management within a company, which main assets are their employees, their knowledge reflected in unstructured documents they produce as a part of their daily work. Described knowledge mapping technique analyses document publication history of company members and proposes various measures to asses and characterize their knowledge. The implementation of the knowledge mapping technique allows its direct usage (as an expert search engine) as well as its own evaluation (validity of search engine results). The efficiency of proposed measures on various types of document sources (project directories/versioning repositories/etc.) and within various dimension configurations (current/overall knowledge search) is evaluated by the practical evaluation method introduced within the thesis. The evaluation took place in the environment of a middle-sized software company allowing seeing directly a practical usability of the expertise location technique. The results of the evaluation are presented not only in statistical form, but in a form of suggestions of how to implement the model on various document sources within the company. The results suggest that described knowledge mapping technique is a viable approach in expertise location.

Knowledge management in times of change: Tacit and explicit knowledge transfers.Hall, Heather Leigh 12 1900 (has links)
This study proposed a look at the importance and challenges of knowledge management in times of great change. In order to understand the information phenomena of interest, impacts on knowledge workers and knowledge documents in times of great organizational change, the study is positioned in a major consolidation of state agencies in Texas. It pays special attention to how the changes were perceived by the knowledge workers by interviewing those that were impacted by the changes resulting from the reorganization. The overall goal is to assess knowledge management in times of great organizational change by analyzing the impact of consolidation on knowledge management in Texas's Health and Human Services agencies. The overarching research question is what happened to the knowledge management structure during this time of great change? The first research question was what was the knowledge worker environment during the time of change? The second research question was what was the knowledge management environment of the agencies during the time of change? The last research question was did consolidation of the HHS agencies diminish the ability to transition from tacit to explicit knowledge? Additionally, the study investigates how the bill that mandated the consolidation was covered in the local media as well as the actual budget and employee loss impact of the consolidation in order to better understand the impacts on knowledge workers and knowledge documents as a result of major organizational restructuring. The findings have both theoretical and practical implications for information science, knowledge management and project management.

[en] THE PURE THEORY OF LAW AND THE TACIT ALTERNATIVE CLAUSE / [pt] A TEORIA PURA DO DIREITO E A CLÁUSULA ALTERNATIVA TÁCITAMARCELO DO NASCIMENTO SILVA PORCIUNCULA 22 December 2004 (has links)
[en] The Pure Theory of Law emerged in the first half of the
20th century as a vigorous criticism to the traditional
juridical theory. This opposition consists in an impressive
epistemological program, whose main target is to eliminate
from the study of Law both political elements and specific
methods shared with other sciences. Its author, Hans
Kelsen, intended to provide a theoretical apparatus to the
jurist which would allow him to contemplate his object with
the same qualty and accuracy already attained in the
natural sciences. In order to do so, he found necessary the
juridical knowledge had both scientificity and autonomy,
and his famous doctrine was conceived to achieve that.
Nevertheless, in spite of the undeniable progress that came
with it, the Pure Theory of Law seems to suffer from an
insoluble problem that might compromise its integral
sustainability. It is the Tacit Alternative Clause,
Kelsenian thesis of which we shall treat here and whose
delineation is preceded by the investigation of the
premises and concepts which are crucial to its full
understanding.

Die Aufzeichnung des Nicht-Sagbaren: Annäherung an die kommunikative Funktion der Bilder in den Fechtbüchern des Hans TalhoferBurkart, Eric 15 July 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the communication strategies of medieval fightbooks and the purpose of integrated depictions of their authors and addressees. The point of departure is a series of three articles written by Jan-Dirk MÜLLER between 1992 and 1994, in which he analyses the relationship between mnemonic verses, glosses and didactic images in the tradition of the fencing master Johannes Liechtenauer. On the basis of a case study on the five surviving 15th century manuscripts ascribed to Hans Talhofer, who also stands in the tradition of Liechtenauer, the description of his personal martial art by the use of didactic images is examined.
