Commande de robots manipulateurs basée sur le modèle de Takagi-Sugeno : nouvelle approche pour le suivi de trajectoire / Control of robots manipulators based the Takagi-Sugeno model : new approach for tracking control

Ce travail présente une nouvelle approche de synthèse de la commande non linéaire en suivi de trajectoire de robots manipulateurs. Malgré la richesse de la littérature dans le domaine, le problème n'a pas encore été traité de manière adéquate : en raison de l'existence inévitable dans les applications pratiques de perturbations et incertitudes telles que les forces de frottement, des perturbations externes ou les variations des paramètres il est difficile d'assurer un suivi de trajectoire de haute précision. Afin de résoudre ce problème, nous proposons tout d'abord une méthode de commande prenant en compte la performance H∞ pour le suivi de trajectoire d'un robot manipulateur. Deuxièmement, nous proposons un nouveau cadre pour la synthèse de lois de commande combinant une action anticipatrice et un retour d'état basée sur une représentation sous forme Takagi-Sugeno descripteur de la dynamique du manipulateur. Un avantage de la représentation choisie est de pouvoir simultanément simplifier le calcul des gains de commande à l'aide de LMI de dimension réduite et de réduire la complexité du correcteur en agissant sur le nombre de règles du modèle de Takagi-Sugeno. Basé sur la théorie de la stabilité de Lyapunov, le réglage du correcteur est formulé comme un problème d'optimisation LMI (inégalité matricielle linéaire). Les résultats obtenus en simulation effectuée avec un modèle de manipulateur série développé dans l'environnement Simscape MultibodyTM de Matlab R démontrent clairement l'efficacité de la méthode proposée en comparaison avec le régulateur PID et la commande CTC (Computed Torque Control). / This work presents a new design approach for trajectory tracking control of robot manipulators. In spite of the rich literature in the field, the problem has not yet been addressed adequately due to the lack of an effective control design. In general, it is difficult to adopt design to achieve high-precision tracking control due to the uncertainties in practical applications, such as friction forces, external disturbances and parameter variations. In order to cope this problem, we propose first control with H∞ performance to reference trajectory tracking control of two degrees of freedom robot. Secondly, we propose a new design framework with parametric uncertainties and unknown disturbances by using the feedback and the feedforward controllers. Using the descriptor Takagi-Sugeno systems, the design goal is to achieve a guaranteed tracking performance while signicantly reducing the numerical complexity of the designed controller through a robust control scheme. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, the control design is formulated as an LMI (linear matrix inequality) optimization problem. Simulation results carried out with a high-fidelity serial manipulator model embedded in the Simscape MultibodyTM environment of MatlabR clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method by comparing with PID controller and computed torque controller.

Value Function Estimation in Optimal Control via Takagi-Sugeno Models and Linear Programming

[ES] La presente Tesis emplea técnicas de programación dinámica y aprendizaje por refuerzo para el control de sistemas no lineales en espacios discretos y continuos. Inicialmente se realiza una revisión de los conceptos básicos de programación dinámica y aprendizaje por refuerzo para sistemas con un número finito de estados. Se analiza la extensión de estas técnicas mediante el uso de funciones de aproximación que permiten ampliar su aplicabilidad a sistemas con un gran número de estados o sistemas continuos. Las contribuciones de la Tesis son: -Se presenta una metodología que combina identificación y ajuste de la función Q, que incluye la identificación de un modelo Takagi-Sugeno, el cálculo de controladores subóptimos a partir de desigualdades matriciales lineales y el consiguiente ajuste basado en datos de la función Q a través de una optimización monotónica. -Se propone una metodología para el aprendizaje de controladores utilizando programación dinámica aproximada a través de programación lineal. La metodología hace que ADP-LP funcione en aplicaciones prácticas de control con estados y acciones continuos. La metodología propuesta estima una cota inferior y superior de la función de valor óptima a través de aproximadores funcionales. Se establecen pautas para los datos y la regularización de regresores con el fin de obtener resultados satisfactorios evitando soluciones no acotadas o mal condicionadas. -Se plantea una metodología bajo el enfoque de programación lineal aplicada a programación dinámica aproximada para obtener una mejor aproximación de la función de valor óptima en una determinada región del espacio de estados. La metodología propone aprender gradualmente una política utilizando datos disponibles sólo en la región de exploración. La exploración incrementa progresivamente la región de aprendizaje hasta obtener una política convergida. / [CA] La present Tesi empra tècniques de programació dinàmica i aprenentatge per reforç per al control de sistemes no lineals en espais discrets i continus. Inicialment es realitza una revisió dels conceptes bàsics de programació dinàmica i aprenentatge per reforç per a sistemes amb un nombre finit d'estats. S'analitza l'extensió d'aquestes tècniques mitjançant l'ús de funcions d'aproximació que permeten ampliar la seua aplicabilitat a sistemes amb un gran nombre d'estats o sistemes continus. L'exploració incrementa progressivament la regió d'aprenentatge fins a obtenir una política convergida. / [EN] The present Thesis employs dynamic programming and reinforcement learning techniques in order to obtain optimal policies for controlling nonlinear systems with discrete and continuous states and actions. Initially, a review of the basic concepts of dynamic programming and reinforcement learning is carried out for systems with a finite number of states. After that, the extension of these techniques to systems with a large number of states or continuous state systems is analysed using approximation functions. The contributions of the Thesis are: -A combined identification/Q-function fitting methodology, which involves identification of a Takagi-Sugeno model, computation of (sub)optimal controllers from Linear Matrix Inequalities, and the subsequent data-based fitting of Q-function via monotonic optimisation. -A methodology for learning controllers using approximate dynamic programming via linear programming is presented. The methodology makes that ADP-LP approach can work in practical control applications with continuous state and input spaces. The proposed methodology estimates a lower bound and upper bound of the optimal value function through functional approximators. Guidelines are provided for data and regressor regularisation in order to obtain satisfactory results avoiding unbounded or ill-conditioned solutions. -A methodology of approximate dynamic programming via linear programming in order to obtain a better approximation of the optimal value function in a specific region of state space. The methodology proposes to gradually learn a policy using data available only in the exploration region. Controlador híbrido PID-Fuzzy baseado na inferência Takagi-Sugeno para a regulação de tensão e de frequência /

Orientador: Carlos Roberto Minussi / Resumo: Nesta pesquisa apresentam-se os principais conceitos gerais de estabilidade elétrica, assim como suas divisões e classificações, onde são desenvolvidas as condições de operação de um sistema elétrico de potência, que são relevantes nos estudos de estabilidade angular do rotor, tensão e frequência. Para os estudos de estabilidade da frequência e de tensão é preciso conhecer os equipamentos como os reguladores de tensão e frequência, em consequência é apresentada a modelagem matemática de vários componentes dinâmicos como o sistema de excitação, estabilizador do sistema de potência (PSS), sistema de regulação de velocidade, sistema de regulação de tensão (AVR), máquina síncrona, turbina a vapor e turbina hidráulica. É necessário a modelagem de eles para projetar seus respectivos controladores. Nesta pesquisa também se faz a introdução ao controlador Fuzzy e controlador PID convencional assim como os métodos de sintonia, depois projetamos um controlador que combine os dois controladores e tenha mais vantagens como o controlador híbrido PID-Fuzzy. Depois de desenvolver a modelagem do regulador de tensão e frequência, fazemos o projeto do controlador PID-Fuzzy, previamente projetado o controle PID. As simulações dos sistemas de regulação de tensão e frequência sem controlador, com controlador PID e com controlador PID-Fuzzy foram realizadas aplicando a ferramenta computacional de Matlab-Simulink no domínio do tempo contínuo e as respostas foram investigadas e discutidas. / Abstract: This research presents the main general concepts of electrical stability, as well as their divisions and classifications, where the operating conditions of an electrical power system are developed, which are relevant in the studies of angular stability of the rotor, voltage and frequency. For frequency and voltage stability studies it is necessary to know equipment such as voltage and frequency regulators, consequently the mathematical modeling of several components is presented as dynamic as the excitation system, power system stabilizer (PSS) , speed regulation system, voltage regulation system (AVR), synchronous machine, steam turbine and hydraulic turbine. We need the modeling of them to design their respective controllers. In this investigation we also do the introduction to the Fuzzy controller and conventional PID controller as well as the tuning methods then we designed a controller that combines the two controllers and has more advantages as the hybrid PID-Fuzzy controller. After developing the modeling of the voltage and frequency regulator, we design the PID-Fuzzy controller, previously designed the PID control. The simulations of the voltage and frequency regulation systems without controller, with PID controller and with PID-Fuzzy controller were performed applying the Matlab-Simulink computational tool in the continuous time domain and the answers were investigated and discussed. / Mestre

A estratégia implementa uma interpolação ponderada entre um conjunto de controladores locais previamente projetados. Ao ocorrer variações nas condições operacionais do motor de indução, os ganhos da lei de controle são ajustados automaticamente, de modo a manter satisfatório o desempenho do sistema de controle. Para o projeto do controlador fuzzy a representação em espaço de estados da planta foi considerada sob a forma de um sistema aumentado, incluindo-se uma nova variável de estado que, nesse caso, foi selecionada como sendo a integral do erro de velocidade. Tal formulação permitiu o projeto de controladores locais com a estrutura PI, através de realimentação completa de estados, com posicionamento de pólos. Como variáveis de operação para o chaveamento fuzzy dos controladores locais, foram selecionados as variáveis velocidade angular do rotor e a componente da corrente de estator responsável pelo torque elétrico do motor. Em seguida, a estabilidade do controlador fuzzy Takagi- Sugeno projetado foi comprovada através do critério de Lyapunov, para isso o problema de estabilidade foi escrito na forma de LMIs. O desempenho do controlador fuzzy Takagi-Sugeno foi avaliado através de estudos de simulação, e seus resultados comparados ao desempenho de um controlador PI convencional, para a regulação da velocidade do rotor. Os resultados obtidos nas simulações mostram que o emprego da estratégia proposta torna o sistema mais robusto a variações paramétricas no sistema de acionamento. / This paper investigates a strategy for Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy control applied to speed control of induction motor. The strategy implements a weighted interpolation between a set of local controllers previously designed. When changes occur in the operational conditions of the induction motor, the gains of the control law are adjusted automatically to maintain satisfactory performance of the control system. For controller design the fuzzy state space representation of the plant was considered in the form of an augmented system, including a new state variable which in this case, was selected as the integral of speed error. This formulation allowed the design of local controllers with the structure PI, through state feedback with pole placement. As variables of operation for the switching fuzzy controllers local variables were selected angular velocity and stator current component responsible for torque electric, expressed in a frame rotating synchronously with the rotor flux. Then, the stability of Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy controller designed was assured by the Lyapunov criterion, in the form of LMIs. The performance of the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy controller was assessed through simulation studies and their results compared to the performance of a conventional PI controller, for regulating the rotor speed. The results obtained in simulation tests show that employing the proposed strategy makes the system more robust to parametric variations in the drive system.

Contributions to analysis and control of Takagi-Sugeno systems via piecewise, parameter-dependent, and integral Lyapunov functions

Esta tesis considera un enfoque basado en Lyapunov para el análisis y control de sistemas no lineales cuyas ecuaciones dinámicas son reescritas como un modelo Takagi-Sugeno o uno polinomial convexo. Estas estructuras permiten resolver problemas de control mediante técnicas de optimización convexa, más concretamente desigualdades matriciales lineales y suma de cuadrados, que son eficientes herramientas desde un punto de vista computacional. Después de proporcionar una visión general básica del estado actual en el campo de los modelos Takagi-Sugeno, esta tesis aborda cuestiones sobre las funciones de Lyapunov por trozos, dependiente de parámetros e integral de línea, con las siguientes contribuciones: Un algoritmo mejorado para estimaciones del dominio de atracción de sistemas no lineales para sistemas de tiempo continuo. Los resultados se basan en funciones de Lyapunov por trozos, desigualdades matriciales lineales y argumentaciones geométricas; enfoques basados en conjuntos de nivel en la literatura previa se han mejorado significativamente. Una función Lyapunov generalizada dependiente de parámetros para la síntesis de controladores para sistemas Takagi-Sugeno. El enfoque propone una ley de control multi-índice que retroalimenta la derivada del tiempo de las funciones de membresía del modelo Takagi-Sugeno para anular los términos que causan localidad a priori en el análisis de Lyapunov. Una nueva función integral de Lyapunov para el análisis de estabilidad de sistemas no lineales. Estos resultados generalizan aquellos basados en funciones de Lyapunov integral de línea al marco polinomial; resulta que los requisitos de independencia del camino pueden ser anulados por una definición adecuada de una función Lyapunov con términos integrales. / This thesis considers a Lyapunov-based approach for analysis and control of nonlinear systems whose dynamical equations are rewritten as a Takagi-Sugeno model or a convex polynomial one. These structures allow solving control problems via convex optimisation techniques, more specifically linear matrix inequalities and sum-of-squares, which are efficient tools from the computational point of view. After providing a basic overview of the state of the art in the field of Takagi-Sugeno models, this thesis address issues on piecewise, parameter-dependent and line-integral Lyapunov functions, with the following contributions: An improved algorithm to estimate the domain of attraction of nonlinear systems for continuous-time systems. The results are based on piecewise Lyapunov functions, linear matrix inequalities, and geometrical argumentations; level-set approaches in prior literature are significantly improved. A generalised parameter-dependent Lyapunov function for synthesis of controllers for Takagi-Sugeno systems. The approach proposed a multi-index control law that feeds back the time derivative of the membership function of the Takagi-Sugeno model to cancel out the terms that cause a priori locality in the Lyapunov analysis. A new integral Lyapunov function for stability analysis of nonlinear systems. These results generalise those based on line-integral Lyapunov functions to the polynomial framework; it turns out path-independency requirements can be overridden by an adequate definition of a Lyapunov function with integral terms. / Aquesta tesi considera un enfocament basat en Lyapunov per a l'anàlisi i control de sistemes no lineals les equacions dinàmiques dels quals són reescrites com un model Takagi-Sugeno o un de polinomial convex. Aquestes estructures permeten resoldre problemes de control mitjançant tècniques d'optimització convexa, més concretament desigualtats matricials lineals i suma de quadrats, que són eines eficients des d'un punt de vista computacional. Després de proporcionar una visió general bàsica de l'estat actual en el camp dels models Takagi-Sugeno, aquesta tesi aborda qüestions sobre les funcions de Lyapunov per trossos, dependent de paràmetres i integral de línia, amb les següents contribucions: Un algoritme millorat per a estimar el domini d'atracció de sistemes no lineals per a sistemes de temps continu. Synthèse de contrôleurs avancés pour les systèmes quasi-LPV appliqués au contrôle de moteurs automobiles / Advanced controller design for quasi-LPV systems applied to automotive engine control

Ma thèse en automatique s’inscrit dans la thématique de recherche «Transport» du LAMIH. L’objectif est d’améliorer le fonctionnement des moteurs thermiques (essence), notamment en réduisant la consommation et la pollution. Face à cet enjeu écologique et économique, et compte tenu des nouvelles normes et des stratégies court-termistes de l’industrie (scandale Volkswagen...), de nouveaux contrôleurs doivent être conçus pour piloter l’arrivée d’air et d’essence au sein du moteur. En considérant l’aspect hautement non-linéaire du système, la représentation Takagi-Sugeno et le background théorique du LAMIH sont utilisés. Un premier contrôleur est synthétisé pour régler le problème de la vitesse de ralenti du moteur. Cependant, la complexité du système impose l’utilisation d’un contrôleur très coûteux d’un point de vue computationnel. Un contrôleur alternatif est donc synthétisé afin d’être implémenté dans l’ordinateur embarqué du moteur. Un second contrôleur est obtenu pour maintenir la richesse en proportions stoechiométriques afin de réduire la pollution. Ce système étant sujet à un retard de transport variable, un changement de domaine est réalisé afin de rendre ce retard constant, et de concevoir un contrôleur simple et efficace. Des essais réels sur le banc d’essai moteur du LAMIH sont réalisés afin de valider la méthodologie présentée. / My PhD in Automatic Control is part of the research theme “Transport” of the LAMIH. The objective is to improve the functioning of the gasoline engines, mainly by reducing the fuel consumption and the pollution. With this ecologic and economic challenge, and taking into account the new norms and the short-term strategies of the industry (scandal of Volkswagen...), new controllers have to be designed to control the air valve and the fuel injection inside the engine. Considering the highly nonlinear aspect of the system, the Takagi-Sugeno representation and the theoretical background of the LAMIH have been used. A first controller is designed to solve the problem of idle engine speed. However, the complexity of the system forces the use of a controller that is very costly from a computational point of view. An alternative controller is then designed in order to be implemented inside the embedded computer of the engine. A second controller is obtained to maintain the air-fuel ratio in stoichiometric proportions in order to reduce the pollution. This system being subject to a variable transport delay, a change of domain is realized to make this delay constant, and to design a simple and efficient controller. Real-time experiments have been realized on the engine test bench of the LAMIH in order to validate the presented methodology.
