Atos de Paulo e Tecla narra as provações e extraordinários livramentos experimentados por Tecla, uma jovem e bela virgem de Icônio, após tornar-se cristã através da pregação de Paulo. Provavelmente a obra foi composta em meados do século II, o que coincide com o auge da produção dos romances gregos e do florescimento da Segunda Sofística. Embora apresente importantes pontos de contato com o romance antigo e com a literatura cristã canônica, Atos de Paulo e Tecla também se diferencia consideravelmente destes, o que o coloca claramente em um grupo à parte. O objetivo deste trabalho é apresentar uma tradução do texto grego para o português juntamente com um estudo de suas relações com o romance antigo e uma análise de seu contexto. / The Acts of Paul and Thecla narrates the trials and extraordinary deliverance experienced by Thecla, a beautiful young virgin from Iconium, after she became a Christian by Paul\'s preaching. The work was composed in the middle of the second century, simultaneously with the peak of ancient Greek novel production and the flourishing of the Second Sophistic. Despite extensive similarities between the ancient novel, the canonical Christian literature, and The Acts of Paul and Thecla, the latter differs considerably from the other two. This dissertation includes the translation of this narrative from Greek to Portuguese, a study about its correlation with the ancient novel, as well as an analysis of its historical and literary context.

This thesis adds new data to the musical and documented heritage kept in the basílica arciprestal of the church of Santa María La Mayor de Morella (Castellón province). Such information was unknown until this research has been done. The recent findings by the author of a new bulk of scores not previously listed has changed the number of works, composers and musicians in Morella's musical archive. So, a good number of authors and new works are now included along with the music scores of composers already known. Altogether, the musical treasure of the archive has increased substantially. In the field of musicology, the building of a chronology of all musicians who have been working for the chapel of Morella's church brings information and knowledge. The new discoveries will be useful in the future to compare and complement the information about the same musicians kept in other churches, cathedrals and private archives. The additions bring to the surface data about these musicians during their time in Morella and which of them have left written works in the music's archive. With new research and discoveries of data and compositions located in other archives, it will be possible to recover and build the complete biography and works of every one of the musicians. Two figures have been closely studied in this research: the Valencian, Vicente Comas Casasayas and the Morellano, José Guimerá Sabater. Both were prominent organists in the period studied in this research representing 19th century music in Morella. In addition the selected scores that had been transcribed correspond to original musical compositions for keyboard of late 18th and middle of 19th centuries of four of the authors that appear in the chronology. Through studying these it has been possible to arrive at a number of conclusions of relevance from styling and composition procedures of the musicians' approach, to the keyboard instruments used. The research gives an idea of the forms and genres foremost in vogue and performed in the context of this church, and also more generally, as well as about skills and training of performers for whom they were written. It is hoped that the recovery of music and information about the composers can contribute to the enrichment of the history of the musical heritage of the town of Morella, the region of Valencia and the whole of Spain. It would be desirable that these works will be included in the educational programmes of music schools as well as in the concert programmes of today's musicians. / El trabajo de esta tesis aporta nuevos datos sobre una parte del patrimonio documental y musical custodiado en la basílica arciprestal de Morella, y desconocido hasta ahora. El descubrimiento reciente por parte de la autora, durante este trabajo de investigación, de un nuevo armario lleno de partituras sin catalogar ni inventariar ha variado el número total de obras y autores conservados en este archivo. En este sentido, hemos añadido autores y obras nuevas, pero también partituras de algunos autores ya inventariados y clasificados, aumentando de esta manera la riqueza musical de este archivo. La reconstrucción cronológica de todos los músicos que pasaron por la capilla de esta arciprestal aporta conocimientos nuevos, dentro del campo de la musicología, que servirán, en un futuro, para cotejarlos y completarlos con la información de los mismos músicos conservada en otras iglesias, catedrales o archivos privados. Con nuestra aportación, salen a la luz todos los datos de estos músicos en su período de estancia en la arciprestal de Morella y cuáles de ellos dejaron obras escritas para la arciprestal, que todavía se conservan en el archivo de música. De esta manera, con la aparición de nuevos datos y composiciones situados en otros templos o archivos que aporten otras investigaciones se podrá ir recuperando y reconstruyendo la biografía y obra de cada uno de ellos. Este seguimiento biográfico individual ha sido realizado en este trabajo sobre las figuras del valenciano Vicente Comas Casasayas y del morellano José Guimerá Sabater, los dos músicos organistas más importantes de todos los siglos investigados, y representativos de la música del s. XIX en Morella. Por otra parte, la música seleccionada para su transcripción corresponde a partituras inéditas para tecla de finales del s. XVIII y mediados del s. XIX de cuatro de los autores que aparecen en nuestra reconstrucción. A través de su estudio y ejecución hemos podido llegar a conclusiones relevantes desde el punto de vista del estilo y procedimientos compositivos de los autores, así como de los instrumentos de tecla utilizados, lo cual da una idea de las formas y géneros más en boga e interpretados en el contexto de nuestra arciprestal (y fuera de ella), así como de la habilidad y formación de los intérpretes a quienes iban dirigidas. Se espera que las averiguaciones aquí desveladas puedan contribuir al enriquecimiento de la historia de la música de nuestra ciudad, Comunidad Valenciana y de España; que nuestro pequeño granito de arena pueda contribuir al enriquecimiento del patrimonio musical español, y estas obras sean incluidas en las programaciones de los conservatorios y en los programas de conciertos de los intérpretes de hoy, objetivo final de cualquier tarea de recuperación musicológica. / El treball d'aquesta tesi aporta noves dades sobre una part del patrimoni documental i musical conservat a la basílica arxiprestal de Morella, i desconegut fins ara. El recent descobriment per part de l'autora, durant aquest treball d'investigació, d'un nou armari ple de partitures sense catalogar ni inventariar ha variat el nombre total d'obres i autors conservats en aquest arxiu. En aquest sentit, s'han afegit autors i peces noves, però també altres obres d'alguns autors ja inventariats i classificats, augmentant així la riquesa musical d'aquest arxiu. La reconstrucció cronològica de tots els músics que han passat per la capella d'aquesta arxiprestal aporta coneixements nous, dins del camp de la musicologia, que serviran, en un futur, per a comparar-los i completar-los amb la informació dels mateixos músics conservada en altres esglèsies, catedrals o arxius privats. A topic that was essential for women to conquer their space and power in society and this way get to make their voice heard, even though not as considerable. By examining the Apocryphal Acts of Paul and Thecla, its main characteristics and composition can be observed, also with its origin and interpretation by communities and leaders in the beginning of Christianity. Sought to portray this research, justifying the Greek romance, presenting their similarities with the Acts of Paul and Thecla and thus highlight the influence of Greek writing on the apocryphal text in its way of structuring. It was presented the definitions of sexual abstinence, leadership and martyrdom always stressing themes with the figure of the woman, addressing the issue of the body and society and demonstrating how these themes inspired speeches in early Christianity. Referring to the writings of Acts Apocrypha, we present the origin of communities of celibate women who influenced the writing of texts, reporting why the Acts were written and how they were disseminated in other communities. About martyrdom it was described its origins and how Christians saw in this action an approach to God and how martyrdom prepared Theclas life to become an agent of Gods word. / O propósito desta pesquisa é analisar a obra os Atos de Paulo e Tecla, focando na importância da renúncia sexual para a liderança da mulher. Tema este que se tornou fundamental para que as mulheres conseguissem conquistar seu espaço e poder diante da sociedade e assim conseguir fazer com que sua voz fosse ouvida, mesmo que de forma não tão considerável. Ao examinar os Apócrifos Atos de Paulo e Tecla, pôde-se observar suas principais características e composição, apresentando sua origem e interpretação pelas comunidades e pelos líderes do início do cristianismo. Buscou-se nesta pesquisa retratar e fundamentar o romance grego, apresentando suas similaridades com os Atos de Paulo e Tecla, e desta maneira destacar a influência do escrito grego sobre o texto apócrifo em sua forma de estruturação. Apresentamos as definições sobre a renúncia sexual, liderança e martírio sempre destacando os temas com a figura da mulher, abordando a questão do corpo e a sociedade e demonstrando como estes temas inspiraram os discursos no início do cristianismo. Referente aos escritos dos Atos Apócrifos, apresentamos a origem das comunidades de mulheres celibatárias, que influenciaram a escrita dos textos, relatando o motivo pelo qual os Atos foram escritos e como foram disseminados nas outras comunidades. Sobre o martírio, descrevemos suas origens e como os cristãos viam nessa ação uma aproximação com Deus, e como o martírio preparou a vida de Tecla para que ela se tornasse uma anunciante da palavra de Deus.
