Media allocation models have been extensively developed to guide advertisers and advertising agencies in allocating media budget among media classes - generating what is known as media mix modeling. However, little has been done in order to understand the distribution among media budgets already executed. This research aims to identify factors that explain the participation of the investment in online media and the participation of television media as a ratio of the total media investment. We also investigated whether the share of online media investment in Brazil is lower than the rest of the world, and whether the share of investment in television is greater. A longitudinal database of 72 countries, from 2010 to 2017, was used for the analysis of Generalized Estimated Equations. The independent variables were advertising investment per capita, advertising investment share in GDP, internet penetration in the population, daily time spent in mainstream media, educational level, agency volume bonus levels of payment and time evolution (years). The results indicate that the variables with statistical relevance to explain the media allocation among media classes in a country are agency volume bonus levels and the year of the analysis.

Mediální krajina ve Španělsku / Media landscape in Spain

Michálková, Helena January 2011 (has links)
The diploma thesis "The media landscape in Spain" aims to describe the contemporary Spanish media scene and apply the basic characteristics and particularities of the "polarized pluralist model" media system which was described by Hallin and Mancini in their book Comparing Media Systems and whose features are also allocated to other South European countries (Italy, Portugal, Greece and marginally also France) in addition to Spain. The description of the press and audiovisual media market itself is preceded by three extensive chapters dealing with press media development in Spain from its beginnings in the 17th century until today, media legislation and the concentration of media ownership. It was the development of the press (and, in the 20th century, the development of audiovisual media) which, due to its exceptionally close ties to politics, determined the shape of the contemporary Spanish media landscape, which is why the thesis focuses primarily on this topic. The historical and political development of the country and constantly changing systems of government led to frequent changes in law (press laws in particular), which makes Spain very different from other European countries in this aspect. The chapters dealing with the press and audiovisual media market refer to the weak tradition of...

Mediální obraz Miloše Zemana / Media portrayal of Milos Zeman

Kovářová, Pavla January 2016 (has links)
This thesis deals with the development of the media image of Miloš Zeman in the two terms in which he held the most significant political functions, namely the prime minister and the president. The aim is to find out whether the media image of Miloš Zeman at a time when he served as prime minister differs from the current media image that he now has as president. The theoretical part is defined by the role of the media in society and politics. Furthermore, the approaches of objectivity in media are described and finally the basic theories that are applied in the construction of the media image are presented. The methodological part of the research covers the method of quantitative content analysis and how this research was conducted. The necessary data was obtained through the Anopress database, selecting relevant articles of the two national newspapers (Mladá fronta Dnes, Právo) and the two most-watched national television networks (Nova, Česká televize). The conclusion of this thesis is analytical and presents the results.
