Biomass fired Top Cycle, för högre elproduktion vid nytt kraftvärmeblock hos Växjö Energi AB / Biomass fired Top Cycle, for higher electricity production with new cogeneration unit at Växjö Energi AB

Petersén, Moa, Kömmits, Ellinor January 2023 (has links)

Hållström, Erik January 2022 (has links)
Top hammer drilling uses a percussive force at the top combined with a rotational energy that transmits through a rod to a drill bit that crushes rock. It is a drilling method that is preliminary used in mining, construction and operations under ground. Fatigue strength plays an important role in the drill rods life span. A top hammer drill rod has a through hole in the center called a flush hole used to flush up the drilling cuttings. The flush hole is a weak spot in the rod. In this preliminary study the purpose was to investigate if, and how, the surface in the flush hole affects the fatigue strength in rock drill rods. Four test methods; Refined inner surface, lathed core, without lubricant and sealed hollow bar. With three samples of each method that affected the surface of the flush hole, were used in the manufacturing of the rods and compared to references. Different tests were applied to measure the quality of the flush hole and of the rods. The material used were fatigue tested under a pulsating pull-pull condition with flushing water. Finally, the fracture surfaces were studied. The fatigue test showed that refined inner surface had supreme fatigue strength, the other methods exhibit approximately 10% more cycles than the references. In conclusion the inner surface affects the fatigue strength. The parameter with the most distinct correlation to the fatigue test was surface roughness. Other parameters that seems to affect were oxidation, hardness and scratches. To obtain statistical certainty more samples are needed.

Making believe, together: a pilot study of the feasibility and potential therapeutic utility of a family tabletop role-playing game

Breen, Lorna 01 September 2021 (has links)
Interventions for children and their families have traditionally stemmed from two interrelated frameworks: play-based child therapies, and family therapies (Gil, 2015). Integrated family play therapy frameworks aim to capitalize on the strengths of both approaches by combining meaningful engagement of children through play, and systems-level insights into patterns of family functioning and interaction (Gil, 2015). A virtually unexplored avenue for play-based therapeutic applications of role-play that may lend themselves to an integrated family play therapy framework are tabletop role-playing games (TRPGs); cooperative and narrative-based games wherein players adopt the role of fictional characters as they navigate a fantasy setting arbitrated by a game master. Case studies on the use of TRPGs with children and young adults have yielded initial evidence of their potential therapeutic utility (e.g., Blackmon, 1994; Enfield, 2007; Rosselet & Stauffer, 2013), however, research on their application is limited, particularly with families. The current study pilot tested an original TRPG module (“The Family Tabletop Adventure”) for use with families to establish the module’s potential therapeutic utility and identify targets for further refinement. A sample of three family groups (N = 11) were recruited to participate in six weekly online sessions (a 1-hour introductory session, four 1.5- to 2-hour game sessions, and a 1-hour exit interview). A variety of mixed-method measures were used to assess family functioning at baseline and post-game, including observational coding, self-report, and qualitative group interviews. Exploratory analyses of the findings indicated the module’s feasibility of implementation and ease of use, low iatrogenic risk, perceptions by families as fun and engaging, and potential utility across a range of family processes relevant to therapeutic contexts, including communication and problem solving, positive interactions and relationship building, and the generation of novel insights about family members. Family feedback was used to identify several targets for additional refinement of the game module to improve families’ comprehension and engagement with the game. The implications of these findings and their relevance to the use of TRPGs in family intervention contexts are discussed. / Graduate / 2023-08-26

Mirroring Gender Diversity: is Reporting a Reflection ofthe TMT? : A Quantitative Study of Gender Diversity Disclosure in Swedish State-Owned Enterprises

Karlsson, Stina January 2022 (has links)
Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to explain how the gender diversity of the top management team affects the disclosure strategy regarding gender diversity, in state-owned enterprises. The study, in addition, tests if hybridity, conceptualized as conflicting institutional logics, has a moderating effect on this relationship. Theoretical perspectives: With its starting point in the upper echelon theory, the study uses both positive accounting theory and signaling theory to explain managers’ disclosure decision, where the intuitional logics approach represents the moderating decision-making context. Methodology: The study is based within the positivistic paradigm, following a deductive approach and quantitative methodology. Both the textual and visual diversity content of the annual reports of 30 state-owned enterprises over a 5-year period, is collected and analyzed using the Spearman correlation matrix and multiple regression analysis. The moderating effect of hybridity is tested through hierarchical moderated multiple regression analysis. Findings: The findings of the study provide partial support for the relationship between the gender diversity of the top management team and gender diversity disclosure, suggesting that the influence of management depends on the means of disclosure. No support is found for the claim that hybridity has a positive moderating effect on this relationship. However, incorporating hybridity stills indicates that integrating the institutional context into the upper-echelons model facilitates understanding about the relationship, by establishing conditional boundaries and identifying main effects.
