Disserta??o (Mestrado Profissional) ? Programa de P?s-Gradua??o em Sa?de, Sociedade e Ambiente, Universidade Federal dos Vales do Jequitinhonha e Mucuri, 2016. / The domestic and conjugal violence against woman is the most disseminated and generalized kind of violence against women; this appears like a public health serious problem. It was used the Epi-info software to measure the frequencies of selected variables and the QGIS software to make two maps of the phenomenon spatial distribution. Since the 422 found registers, it was obtained the description of the domestic violence characteristics against woman in the Diamantina town. It was perceived that the most registers concentration were in the town headquarters, Diamantina. About the violence characteristics, was observed that 75,4% of cases happens on private sites (homes an sites), the most frequently were threats and physical aggressions (45,3% e 28,2%) and the hour that it occurred more was in the night (47,6%). The most of attacked woman that notified the violence were brown and black woman (62,0%, 22,4%), in the age group between 18 and 35 years old (59,2%), who had stable union or single (36,3%, 35,5%) marital status, but the most of those woman have (45,1%) or had (30,2%) conjugal relationships with aggressors. Although the research data show this characteristics about victims, it cannot be to say that it is neither the priority kind of woman who are attacked and nor that just they were attacked, since there are so many woman who did not notify the suffered violence. However, it is relevant to consider the analysis and divulgation of this information, since it will be an important instrument to the health secretariat, social assistance secretariat, civil police, DEAM, social movements and the population who want to face the domestic violence against woman in the Diamantina town (MG).

Muhayisa, Assumpta 29 October 2015 (has links)
Abstract In Rwanda, many women found themselves mothers of children from the rape they suffered during the genocide against Tutsi of 1994. These genocide survivors were tortured, raped and sometimes left for dead by their perpetrators. They were left with children they had never desired, though some of them were yet minors, others had lost their boyfriends and still others had lost their husbands and children during this genocide. The fact that they kept and raised children born from the rape has often earned them rejection by their families and bad reputation by the community. The children considered as genocidors’children could not benefit from a caring and loving family, either on the side of the mother or the father. Their mothers were less and less integrated into the fabric of the family and society and did not benefit any financial support provided to genocides’survivor children. We set out to meet these mothers and their children in order to investigate what had become these stigmatized emotionally and physically weakened families. The main objective was to identify the fragilities as well as psychic and relational ressources of these families in order to determine the means and conditions of a systemic framework likely to help the children being born from rape and their mothers to recover and build. The use, in this study, of approach systemic’s tools and the action-research procedure enabled the expression of feelings and the establishment of dialogue groups for the participants. The results have confirmed the atrocity of rape on maternal care of the child. They allowed also to identify the predominant role of the mother over the one of family members in the filiative registration of the child, and to highlight the need for social intervention aimed at build a re-humanizing identity in mothers as well as in their children.

From Poet's Aid to Courtier's Pastime: An Examination of the Shift in Visual Style and Sounding Function of Italian Viols During the Renaissance

Mariani, Jacob 29 September 2014 (has links)
This thesis examines evidence of the earliest viols in Italy. In light of recent changes in perspective on the origins of the Italian viola da gamba, a new approach to building historical models of the instrument is necessary. By using Castiglione's description of violas as a significant signpost, I have developed a clearer picture of the early viola da gamba's socio-musical context. Using this context, along with my experience as a luthier, I redefine the parameters by which we may interpret the corresponding iconography of the instrument. By relating the building techniques that appear in iconography to our modern knowledge of instrument-making, I expose the differences between building conceptions in the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries and those that stem from later "surviving" instruments. Finally, by placing historical models within the musical framework of plausible repertoire, I reveal the ingredients for an updated sense of sound and performance practice.

These effects are still present in ideas that circulate in contemporaneity. The theoretical path chosen to discuss violent relations established in romantic love have been the presentation of relation between the notion of the modern individual and hyperinvestment in intimacy as a molar force in the history of modern thought. The study was based on Foucault's genealogical method and on the historical and critical analyses of Richard Sennett and Alain Renaut, as well as on contributions to an active way of life, based on Espinosa's ethics, Foucault's concept of self-care and Braidotti???s nomadism. This thesis develops the concepts of ???love-norm??? and ???loveexperience???. The aim was to display, in the discourse of intimacy, the operation of desire and power in the production of romantic love ideal and its relation with the intimate partner violence.
