Bohorodiční svátky v Pravoslavné Církvi / The Orthodox Church Celebrations of The most hollines Lady and over Virgin Maria

Táborský, Jiří January 2020 (has links)
In our work, we have tried to study the Feast of the Feast in the Orthodox Church, from a historical, dogmatic and liturgical point of view. We sought a descriptive and comparative approach that would have elements of a case study. We looked mainly at the feast of the Church of the Blessed Virgin, which is basically part of the feast of the Nativity. We looked at the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, then at the feast of the Annunciation, Introduction to the Church and, of course, the feast of the Assumption, which enjoys great respect in Orthodoxy and is nicknamed the Mother of God Passover. The main purpose was to delve deeper into the meaning of the Mother of God in human life, so that the Mother of God could teach each of us to live in the Truth, that is, to live in Christ.

Life cycle assessment of cotton yarns for IKEA / Livscykelanalys av bomullsgarn för IKEA

Campos, Ana Teresa Villarreal, Goyal, Ruchira January 2021 (has links)
Cotton is one of the leading fibers in the textile industry due to its superior mechanical qualities. It accounts for high environmental impacts, especially water consumption and scarcity. Since cotton is a significant raw material for IKEA, it had set a target to source from only sustainable sources such as from the Better Cotton Initiative, and recycled cotton. At the same time, IKEA also has a commitment to transition to a circular business, which includes recycling. This comparative and accounting Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) analyzes virgin (two types - conventional cotton and Better Cotton) yarns, and mixed (virgin plus recycled) cotton yarns from some of the top supplier countries of the company, on a cradle-to-gate perspective. Water quantity and quality impacts are analyzed together with climate change. The Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) shows that there is a proportional reduction in impacts of the mixed yarns as recycled cotton percentage is increased, since the impacts of recycled yarns are much lower than virgin yarns. In virgin conventional yarns, the main stages that contributed the most to the impacts were cotton cultivation and spinning. Irrigation used in cotton cultivation accounted for the most impacts in water availability. For water quality, the impacts were mostly coming from electricity use and direct field emissions from cotton cultivation. In addition, this study demonstrated that there were high differences between the impacts in the countries studied. The results also suggested that there were water savings by using Better Cotton compared to conventional cotton yarns.

Skogstillståndet på ön Blå Jungfrun / The forest condition on Blue Maiden Island

Abrahamsson, Håkan January 2016 (has links)
The aim of the study was to investigate the forest in the national park on the Blue Maiden Island and compare with mainland forest data. The study was made in a quantitative way. The results from the field measurement were related to data from the Swedish National Forest Inventory. Oak, Scots pine and Lime were the most common tree species and constituted 47, 18 and 16 % of basal area, respectively, on the island. The mean heigt was 7 m and the volume of living trees was on average 72 m³/ha and dead wood 30 m³/ha. The average age at breast height was 137 years and the oldest tree was an oak with the age of 335 years at breast height. The amount of dead wood constituted 40 % of the total volume. Disturbances have had influence on the forest on the Island. To what extent cannot be determined without further investigations.

Aukštosios Panemunės Švč. Mergelės Marijos Vardo bažnyčios meno paveldas. Turizmo ir piligrimystės galimybės / Virgin Mary’s Church and its artistic heritage in Higher Panemune. Possibilities for tourism and pilgrimage

Šeškauskaitė, Žemyna 15 June 2011 (has links)
Aukštojoje Panemunėje 1859 metais Roko Bučeniausko iniciatyva pastatyta mūrinė, parapijai skirta Švč. Mergelės Marijos Vardo bažnyčia. Šventovė 1907 metais atnaujinta – pristatytos zakristija, koplyčia, apsidė ir pakeistas frontonas. Darbo objektas – bažnyčia ir jos meno paveldas. Tai 1859–1880 metais įrengtas interjeras – neogotikinis altorių ansamblis, kurį sudaro didysis Švč. Mergelės Marijos Vardo ir du šoniniai – šv. Juozapo ir šv. Roko. [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / In 1859 on Rokas Buceniauskas initiative a stone church of the Virgin Mary was built in Higher Panemune. Sanctuary was renewed in 1907 adding a vestry, a chapel, an apse and the new gable. Thesis object – the church itself and its artistic heritage. That is in 1859 – 1880 equipped interior which contains Neo - Gothic ensemble of the altars: the great altar of the Virgin Mary and two sidelong altars – St. Joseph’s and St. Roch’s. Other inside facilities are also very important – a pulpit, two pairs of Neo – Baroque shaped confessionals, the organ. The churchyard with four chapels is also a part of artistic heritage. The main purpose of the thesis is to contextualize iconography of the sanctuary, analyze, evaluate the artistic - iconographic expression of the church, its interior and churchyard, and intercept the values by relying on archival sources, life research, different books and articles. Also, it is important to discuss about tourism and pilgrimage possibilities. The thesis overlooks the church and its cultural heritage from different angles: historical, artistic, iconographic and iconological. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first one talks over the history of the church and the most important historical facts. Second chapter is about architecture interior and exterior expressions. Third part analyzes decoration of the altars – statuary and painterly reflection of the saints, in which ideological iconographical programme starts to break trough. Other... [to full text]

Lithics and Mobility at Land Hill and Hidden Hills: A Study of the Stone Tools and Debitage at Sites in the Santa Clara River Basin and on the Shivwits Plateau

Mangum, Megan Ellice 01 August 2018 (has links)
The Land Hill and Hidden Hills study areas were the site of the 2006 and 2007 Brigham Young University's archaeological field schools. The two study areas are located in contrasting environments; the Land Hill area is located along the Santa Clara River in southwestern Utah, and the Hidden Hills area was is located on the Shivwits Plateau in northwestern Arizona. The Land Hill study area is located within a well-watered environment which would support a primarily horticultural lifestyle. The Hidden Hills study area is located in an arid environment without permanent streams which would support a more mobile hunting lifestyle. The contrasting environments of these two study areas allowed for a study of the similarities and differences in the use of stone tools. Based on the results of the analysis and comparison of the stone tool and debitage assemblages, from sites in both areas throughout time, suggests that the people in the Land Hills study area actually seemed to be living a lifestyle similar to the people in the Hidden Hills area.
