This research the objective was to investigate the following research problem: Students of the 5th year of public network EF have adequate knowledge about the contents of geometry? The teaching of Geometry in the Early Years of Elementary School currently faces difficulties at various levels, whether in terms of learning and development of thought or in teacher training. Thus, the need arose for this qualitative research, which seeks to understand the current situation of Geometry teaching in the initial years of Elementary School, allowing reflection on the development of geometric thinking and presenting a new proposal of didactic resource. The instrument used for the production of data was a questionnaire with questions of geometric knowledge destined to 24 students of the 5th year of Elementary School. This questionnaire was based on the learning objectives of the 1997 NCPs and on the knowledge objectives described in the 3rd version of the BNCC in 2017, from the initial years of Elementary School, focusing on the contents of flat and three - dimensional figures. At first, students would have to identify the names of the figures, and soon afterwards, at a later stage, they would have to recognize the figures by their properties and use their attributes in problem solving. For data analysis, the levels of geometric thinking described in Van Hiele Theory were used. The results showed that only 16.66% of the investigated students were able to reach level 1 of the Van Hiele theory, and the great majority was classified at level 0, that is, they do not recognize the geometric figure based on their overall appearance and consequently do not use the correct geometric vocabulary and so few, were able to realize situations problems that explore attributes and properties of the figures. With the data of this research, a comic was produced with the objective of enabling advances in the development of geometric thinking.

Vazební zajištění mladistvého pachatele / Imprisonment of minor offenders

VÁVROVÁ, Kateřina January 2007 (has links)
Youth criminality is a constant problem which a number of specialists, legislative bodies, and the whole public deal with. A number of negative phenomenons occurring in the area of this population, e.g. spreading of drugs among younger and younger age groups and related increase of criminality undoubtedly play a leading role. However, it is known that bare repression is ineffective and means of educational activities are much more effective. Occurrence of social pathological phenomenons, their dynamics and changes are an indivisible part of the society. Grounds enabling occurrence of these phenomenons change very little. Heritability, constitutional factors, family, school, peer pressure, inappropriate spending free time as well as media influence and ethnical origin have an impact. Responsibility of the youth for unlawful acts is laid down by the Act No. 218/2003 Coll., on the Liability of Youth for Unlawful Acts and on Justice in Matters of Youth and Amending Certain Acts (Act on Justice in Matters of Youth). The purpose of the Act is defined particularly from the view of prevention of unlawful activities of the youth that is a basic group to which the attention of the whole justice and society is to be paid, so that every member of this group who committed an illegal act, no matter he is a juvenile or a child younger than fifteen years, is treated in accordance with this Act, he contributes to rectifying the injury resulting from the unlawful act within his strengths and abilities, a convenient and appropriate measure is imposed on him, and he finds a social asserting corresponding to his abilities and intellectual and moral development as a definitive result. Preventive activities aimed against youth criminality always and in the whole scope require respecting basic children rights and rights for privacy of their family. Children rights must be observed from primary to tertiary prevention, from searching threatened children and their families to treatment of guilty children. The most significant tool of social prevention is education of children in families and education of children at school. The aim of the thesis was to find out grounds leading to custodial detention of a juvenile offender and to find indications which could help to positively or negatively affect educational impact on the juvenile in the prison.

Oblíbené činnosti seniorů starších 70 let na Českobudějovicku / Favourite Activities of 70-plus Senior Citizens in the České Budějovice Region

ŽIGOVÁ, Simona January 2011 (has links)
Taking the demographic development of our population, the growth of the ratio of senior citizens and the increasing numbers of singles into consideration, the favourite activities of 70-plus citizens become more and more significant. Today´s modern society can offer a wide range of leisure-time activities options during retirement. Thanks to prevention, a healthier diet and sophisticated medication, senior citizens tend to feel not only healthier than their parents used to be, they have also achieved a higher standard of education and thus they expect to enjoy a generally better quality of life. The achievement this goal senior is not pre-conditioned by financial means alone, but predominantly by a change in the fulfilment of life. The objective of my work: The objective of my work consists in the detection of favourite activities of seventy-plus citizens and in the determination of the main determinants, i. e. health condition, natural social environment and stay in institutions for senior citizens. Hypotheses: H1 ? The natural social environment plays a significant role in seventy-plus citizens, H2 ? Institutions for senior citizens have a relevant impact on the available leisure-time activities, H3 ? The health condition is the basic pre-requisite of the range and choice of leisure-time activities in seventy-plus citizens The method of quantitative research was selected for the purposes of confirming or disproving the above hypotheses. The data were collected on the basis of a controlled questionnaire filled in by seventy-plus senior citizens living both in their natural social environment and in institutions. Senior citizens living in the České Budějovice region were interviewed and the respondents were divided into a group living in their natural social environment and a group of those staying in institutions. Both questionnaires consisted in 17 questions. The final number of respondents amounted to 116, 56 of which were living in their natural social environment and 60 in institutions. Data collection: The results of my diploma work suggest that health condition seems to have the most impact on favourite activities. In terms of favourite activities, there is a considerable difference between senior citizens living in their natural social environment and those staying in institutions. The research has confirmed the hypotheses H1, H2 and H3. Conclusions: Modern society should provide a better and more complex standard of awareness of the leisure-time activities options available to the seventy-plus generation. This would improve their general situation and quality of life.

Assumpcao, Sergio Dias January 2013 (has links)
The difficulties presented by the students upon arrival at the 6th grade level, have always intrigued me. The search for ways to overcome them was the starting point for this dissertation proposal. Throughout my professional experience, I identified that many of my colleagues of the early years were not comfortable when working with mathematics, so many of them asked for assistance, while others merely reproduced mechanically what they had been taught. Working with these colleagues seemed to me the natural solution to my desires. Develop a material that could help them in the classroom and, at the same time this was familiar to the student, took me the option of using the language of comics and cartoons . Questionaires and conversations with teachers of the early years have indicated the teaching of fractions as the topic that the students had more difficulties. This led me to choose to develop the design for this specific content. A review of dissertations, books and articles on the subject brought the different concepts involved: multiplicative operator, reason, ratio, measure, and chosen to be the focus of the work, part-whole. The roadmapping, draw, scan and finally animate the material through specific software generated the comics and animes final product of this work and, with the material ready, worshop of preparation were offered to teachers. In these workshops have appeared more difficulties than we have previewd, it lead this to a reconstrution of the material to fit the reality presented. This hike is recorded in this work.

Use of notifiable infectious disease surveillance data for benefit/risk monitoring of vaccines in the EU within the context of the IMI ADVANCE project : Estimating the annual burden of invasive meningococcal disease in the EU/EEA, 2011-2015

Hennings, Viktoria January 2018 (has links)
The Innovative Medicines Initiative Accelerated Development of VAccine beNefit-risk Collaboration in Europe (IMI ADVANCE) project aims to develop a framework for best practice methods on integrated rapid benefit/risk monitoring of vaccines in the European Union (EU). Burden of disease is one of the measures considered when estimating vaccine benefits. This study explores the use of notifiable infectious disease surveillance data for this purpose by estimating burden of invasive meningococcal disease in the EU/European Economic Area (EEA). We use the Burden of Communicable Diseases in Europe toolkit for computing disability-adjusted life years from incidence-based data retrieved from the European Surveillance System (TESSy) held at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. Invasive meningococcal is a common cause of meningitis and septicaemia, with high case-fatality (~10%) and sequelae. We found that the median annual burden of invasive meningococcal disease in the EU/EEA, 2011-2015, was 3.87 DALYs per 100 000 total population (95% UI: 3.79-3.95). Children below one year of age and children below five years of age were at greatest risk of invasive meningococcal disease serogroup B with 89.15 DALYs per 100 000 stratum specific population (95% UI: 83.11-95.02) and 22.57 DALYs per 100 000 stratum specific population (95% UI: 21.03-24.12), respectively. We found that the distribution of burden of invasive meningococcal disease serogroup B differs widely between countries in the EU/EEA and consequently confirm that national assessment of the new infant meningococcal B vaccine is highly relevant.

O desenvolvimento de processos de investigação científica para o 1º ano do ensino fundamental / The development of scientific inquiry-based processes to the first year of elementary school

Tatiana Schneider Vieira de Moraes 13 April 2015 (has links)
The present paper was developed with the premise that, since the early years in school, the students need to be involved in scientific inquiry-based processes. With the insertion of 6-year-old children in the Elementary School, a series of inquiries related to Science teaching came up, among which emerges the central question in this research: \"Is it possible to check the engagement of 6-year-old children in scientific inquiry-based processes?\". With essentially qualitative focus and case study perspective, an Inquiry-Based Teaching Sequence (IBTS) was structured to the students this age who belong to a school in Ribeirão Preto, in São Paulo state. The activities that make up the IBTS were divided in three moments: preinquiry, inquiry and postinquiry. Focusing in the learning process and in the meaning of concepts, the sequence had the intention to check some skills associated with the scientific doing. For this, oral discussions were analysed, starting with the recordings of the classes and the speech\'s transcription, as well as the students\' graphic representations which then made up three data sources: videos, speech and drawings. These data were examined based on categories related to the scientific inquiry-based process and the knowledge of the studied living being. Through the watching of a complete life cycle, the students experienced real opportunities to make hypothesis, test their ideas, handle materials, collect data, handle charts and graphics, and register information, as well as articulate, evaluate and review their growth models and living beings development. The drawings made by the students could communicate the performed activities, concerning both to the studied living being and to the materials used in the inquiry-based process. The skills used by the students in their oral communications or graphic representations are necessary tools to the engagement with the scientific culture. Therefore, it is believed that the scientific discussions, in the classroom context, have direct implication with the ST and must be encouraged since the early years in Science teaching, leading to the building of new concepts and scientific tools and also the growing engagement of the students in Scientific Literacy processes.

Avaliação geriátrica global dos idosos mais velhos residentes em Ribeirão Preto (SP) e Caxias do Sul (RS): indicadores para envelhecimento longevo / Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment of the oldest-old in Ribeirão Preto (SP) and Caxias do Sul (RS): indicators for long-lived aging.

Idiane Rosset Cruz 30 November 2009 (has links)
Brazil is one of the developing countries where the age range over 80 years is the fastest growing population group. This group has been little studied in our context, mainly with respect to interregional health-related differences. This comparative and cross-sectional epidemiological research looked at elderly >= 80 years of age living in two communities. The probabilistic sample comprised two groups of elder elderly: one in Ribeirão Preto (RP-SP), with 155 subjects; and another in Caxias do Sul (CS-RS), including 117 subjects. Data were collected through a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, involving home interviews carried out between May 2007 and September 2008. The data collection instrument consisted of demographic and socioeconomic data, anthropometric measures, the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL), Functional Independence Measure (FIM), presence of comorbidities, Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) and lifestyle (alcohol use, smoking, level of physical activity and diet assessment). The mean age was 84.4 (± 4,3) years in RP and 85,0 (± 3,9) years in CS. Female (~ 67%), white (~ 89%) and widowed (~56%) persons predominated in both cities, without any significant differences in these variables. No important difference was found between the two groups\' mean education level, and the elderly\'s mean income was higher (P = 0.020) in RP (R$ 978,2 ± 1,329,6) than in CS (R$ 668.3 ± 596,1). In RP, a greater concentration of both illiterate people and persons with a high education level was found; and of people receiving either less than one minimum wage (MW) or more than 3 MW. Also, the proportion of elderly people with health insurance found in CS (63%) was larger than in RP (49%). No statistically significant difference was found in the mean MMSE score between both groups (20.6 ± 7.5 in RP against 19.5 ± 6.3 in CS; P = 0.23), which was significantly lower for female, older and illiterate people. A larger proportion of independent elderly in terms of IADL was found in RP (22%) when compared with CS (7%; P = 0.001), and a higher score on the FIM in RP (108.2 ± 24.3) than in CS (102.9 ± 19.9; P = 0.058). In both cities, a higher level of independence was found for male, married elderly with higher education and income levels. A larger proportion of overweight and obese elderly was found in CS (41.9% and 21.4%, respectively) than in RP (32.7% and 15.3%, respectively; P = 0.08). Also, in CS, a larger quantity of comorbidities was found (7.6 ± 2.9) than in RP (5.9 ± 2.9; P < 0.001). However, RP displayed a higher score on the GDS (4.1 ± 2.9), with a larger proportion of depressive subjects (39.3%) than in CS (3.1 ± 2.8 and 22.8%, respectively; P = 0.005). In both groups, male, married elderly with higher education levels showed less depressive symptoms. In both cities, after adjusting for age and gender, a positive correlation was observed between the level of FIM and the MMSE, and a negative correlation with the number of comorbidities and the GDS score. As for lifestyle, no significant differences were found between both groups in terms of energy spent on physical activity and smoking. However, in CS, a larger proportion of elderly was found who were consuming or had consumed alcohol, especially wine. Elderly in CS also presented higher daily consumption levels of calories, carbohydrates, saturated fats and sodium than in RP (P < 0.001 for all). In comparison with RP, although elderly in CS demonstrated less inequality in terms of education and income and lower depression rates, their diet is less healthy and prevalence levels of obesity, other comorbidities and functional dependence are higher. Thus, efforts can me made to adequately plan health policies with a view to better complying with the prerequisites of successful aging and providing greater wellbeing to the Brazilian oldest-old.

Avaliação da qualidade do Sistema  de Informação de Registro de Óbitos Hospitalares (SIS-ROH), Hospital Central da Beira, Moçambique / Assessment of the Quality of the Information System of Hospital Death Registration (SIS-ROH), Beira Central Hospital, Mozambique

Edina da Rosa Durão Mola 24 February 2016 (has links)
The mortality information is useful to assess the health status of a population. Reliable mortality data produced by a national health information system is an important tool for health planning. In many countries, especially developing countries, the mortality information system is still precarious. Despite efforts in Mozambique to improve mortality statistics, challenges still prevail in terms of information technology, technical capacity and human resources and statistical production. The SIS-ROH is an electronic system of national-level hospital deaths registration, implemented in 2008 and has a coverage of only 4% of all annual deaths in the country. Despite being a national system, it currently works in some health units (US), including Beira Central Hospital (HCB). Given the importance of this system to monitor the mortality pattern of HCB and, in general, the city of Beira, this study evaluates the quality of SIS-ROH HCB. It is a descriptive study on the completeness, coverage, compliance and consistency of the SIS-ROH data and examined a sample of 822 HCB deaths Certificates (COs) of fetal and children under 5 years of age. We find the use of two different models of CO (former and current model) for the registration of deaths related to the year 2013. We observed excellent completeness for most SIS-ROH variables. Of the 25 variables of COs there was the following situation: 9 had very bad completeness, which were relating to the identification of the deceased (type of death and age) on the V block in the mother\'s data, where must be filled in case of stillbirths and children under 1 year of age (education, usual occupation, number of living children taken and killed, gestational age) and on the conditions and causes of death (autopsy and intermediate-code causes); 3 variables had bad completeness concerning the identification of the deceased (NID) and on the conditions and causes of death (intermediate cause - description and basic cause - code); 9 showed regular completeness concerning the identification of the deceased (date of birth and age) on the V block (mother\'s age, type of pregnancy, mode of delivery, weight of the fetus / baby birth, death of the fetus / baby compared to delivery) and on the conditions and causes of death (direct cause code, basic cause description); 2 showed good completeness concerning the identification of the deceased (sex and race / color) and, finally, 2 showed excellent completeness concerning the place of occurrence of death (date of admission and date of death or the disappearance corpse). The SIS-ROH had coverage below 50% calculated on mortality data estimated by the National Survey of Causes of Death (INCAM). Some SIS-ROH variables and COS showed inconsistencies. There was a lack of agreement to direct cause between SIS-ROH and COs.
