Saldanha, Ricardo Pedrozo January 2008 (has links)
The present study has as its subject the motivation regarding the regular practice of sports and physical activities in Basketball athletes from 13 to 16 years old. It is an inquiry focused in the perspective of the pedagogy of the sports training. It is an assumption that it is important for the coach or teacher to know the main factors that motivate the athletes having the plan of activities prepared in the best possible way. The main reason of this study was to explore six dimensions of motivation associated to the practice of sports and regular physical activities (Stress Control, Health, Sociability, Competitiveness, Esthetics And Pleasure), that best describe the athletes that practice Basketball with ages ranging from 13 to 16 years old. All athletes participate to institutionalized competitions (school competitions, inter-clubs competitions, JERGS, among others). More specifically, this study tries to describe the levels of these six motivational dimensions of the following variables: gender; categories (“up to 14” and “up to 16 years of age”); time of competition (“one year” and “more than one year”). It was also verified if there were any significant statistical differences between the motivational dimensions and the controllable variables. In order to obtain all this answers, it was applied an inventory called “Inventario de Motivação à Pratica Regular de Atividades Físicas” (IMPRAF-54; BALBINOTTI e BARBOSA, 2006). The IMPRAF-54 is a test that rates the answers in a Likert scale form of 5 points (1 – It’s not very motivating to 5 – It’s very motivating) verifying in nominal values, the dimensions that motivate most Basketball players to the practice of sports and physical activities on a regular basis. The IMPRAF–54, surveyed a sample of 441 young Basketball players of both genders, ages between 13 and 16 years old, tied by States of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina, Brazil. It was verified that the dimensions that most motivates young Basketball players to practice regularly is Pleasure; followed to Competitiveness and Health (indivisible statistically); Sociability; Esthetics; and, finally, Stress Control. In the relation to controlled variable it was observed that the Sociability was the dimension that most motivates the young Basketball athletes when they are in their first year as competitors. Another result that this study shows is that the athletes of the category “up to 14” are significantly more motivated by Competitiveness than the “up to 16”. When we compare the differences between “males and females”, the dimensions Competitiveness and Esthetics were prominence significantly more motivating to males athletes. Therefore, the results indicate that young Basketball athletes from 13 to 16 years old practice sports by intrinsic motives. It is recommended that further studies be conducted in order to deepen the knowledge on this topic.

Momkauskas, Saulius 15 May 2006 (has links)
It was investigatet the indexes of physical charges and their changes among the basketball players of 15–16 years old. The survey was done in January and February, 2006 and there were 15 young basketballers. The aim of the survey was the changes of the young players in the acceleration of the physical strength and becoming well again. According to the pecularities of the phases of the young players and the importance of the physical strength there was an actual research in this problem, that is, to ascertain the changes of the indexesof the accelaration of the strength pointing at various physical charges and becoming well afterwards. The aims were to ascertain the hight of the players jump (hp90, Dj90 and Dj135), as well as their changes before the charge and after it, and becoming well afterwards, then to ascertain the tiredness of the muscles, the composition of the skeleton, the changes of the height of the jumps at the maximal intensivity, and to ascertain the pain of the muscles. During the warming – up the players did three experimental jumps in these ways: hp90, Dj90, Dj135. Later, the young basketball players had to do three control jumps. Then, there was a 1 minute charge test in maximum power series of the jumps. After that, they did three control jumps in all the described ways. Then, the young players had a rest for one hour. After that they had a warming – up and then three control jumps. A contact platform was used to ascertain the height of the jump with the... [to full text]

Knee joints injury prevention program for young basketball-players

Д., Krasovskiy, V. D. January 2017 (has links)
Basketball is one of the most injury-risk team sports. Taking into consideration high frequency of knee joint injuries in both young and professional basketball-players and especially issues of overloads of locomotor apparatus in adult basketball, it is crucially important to develop and propose an effective prevention programs to avoid acute injuries and traumas of knee joints. The proposed study was focused on the development of special training prescriptions and recommendations for coaches and physical trainers aimed to implement prevention methods in the training process. The study was conducted in the Ural Federal University Sports Technologies Research Lab. Twenty young athletes born in 2002 from basketball youth sport schools (Yekaterinburg, Russia) were recruited for the study. The significant interrelations between functional state, oxygen transport and utilization systems and power of working muscles were established for the first time. A novel prevention program of knee joint injuries was introduced, effectiveness of which was proved during the study.
