According to Basel, the labor losses in Financial Institutions represent a substantial value that should be regarded in the model of regulatory capital for operational risk. This dissertation demonstrates a way to measure the risk to which Financial Institutions are exposed to in this type of loss. Several types of distributions are analyzed according to their adherence both in frequency and severity of losses. For frequency values, it was obtained a sample of actual data, whilst for the severity were used values given from reports of research institute which served as an input for the calculations of labor actions according to the present Brazilian legislation in CLT (Consolidation of Labor Laws).

Ama de casa de los años 50 en estados unidos / Housewife of the 50s in the united statesBardales Bendezú, Ericka Isabell 05 July 2021 (has links)
The theme "Housewife of the 50s in the United States" aims to create "Good Guy" which is a collection of non-binary Prêt à Porter clothing. The study was based on the compilation of information on the political, economic and social context of the North American country from the end of World War II until 1959, since this period casts gender stereotypes (and at the same time forms a stereotype) born of the archetype macho of Greek civilization; and as a consequence, the predetermined image of a type of woman is formed that is specified in the image of the housewife.
The analysis of the research to form everything related to the visual of the collection was based on the lifestyle of these women, characteristics of their clothing, the role they played and the representation that was given to them in advertising in magazines and television. of the time. All those shapes, textures and colors extracted from the research topic will be reused to propose a type of non-binary clothing where each piece can be adapted according to the user (whatever its silhouette or somatotype) and not based on gender patterns; through techniques such as ruffles with elastic thread, elastics with adapters and adjustable straps that provide the opportunity to experiment with the body, beliefs and social limitations. / Trabajo de investigación

Kontaminace vybraných částí města Brna těžkými kovy / Heavy metals contamination of selected Brno city localitiesDebnárová, Andrea January 2010 (has links)
This thesis is focused on the degree of soil contamination with heavy metals in urban area of Brno. Samples were collected in three periods from October 2009 to March 2010, to represent different seasons and their impact on the concentration of heavy metals in examined soil. Ten locations was chosen, each with different level of concentration, starting with busy traffic area where the concentration of means was high continuing to areas located around habitation or parks. As result four elements were determined in every sample: Cu, Cd, Hg and Pb. Presence of copper and lead were detected by flame atomic absortion spectroscopy (F-AAS) and, cadmium by the help of electrothermal atomic absortion spectroscopy (ET-AAS). For the determination of mercury was used advanced mercury analyzer (AMA).

Kontaminace vybraných lokalit Ostravy těžkými kovy / The heavy metal contamination of selected sites in OstravaMihočová, Silvie January 2011 (has links)
This thesis is focused on the assessment of contamination of non-agricultural soils of selected locations in Ostrava of hazardous metals. Selection of locations was based on the stationary pollution source REZZO1. Total 36 collected samples from 12 locations in three times periods between July 2010 and March 2011 that each collection represented a different time period for characteristic emissions conditions. The risk of metals mercury, cadmium, lead, copper and chromium were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry (F AAS, ET AAS, AMA 254).The influence of the distance of locations from stationary sources of REZZO1 on the extent of soil contamination by selected metals was confirmed.

Stanovení těžkých kovů v odpadních energetických materiálech s využitím sekvenční extrakce / Determination of heavy metals in waste energetic materials with using sequential extractionKořínková, Alena January 2011 (has links)
Ve všech frakcích byly stanoveny olovo, měď a kadmium s využitím atomové absorpční spektrometrie (F AAS, ET AAS) a rtuť metodou AMA 254.

Výskyt těžkých kovů v blízkosti dopravních komunikací v Brně / Presence of heavy metals in vicinity of the roads in BrnoBrzobohatý, Jan January 2011 (has links)
Diploma thesis deals with the risk assessment of metals in soils near roads in the city of Brno. For samples collection has been chosen twenty-five localities which were divided into five groups depending on the traffic load, in order to compare the impact of transport on the risk of soil contamination with metals. In the soil samples were determined levels of six hazardous metals (Cd, Hg, Pb, Zn, Ni, Cu). Lead, zinc, nickel and copper were determined by the flame atomic absorption spectrometry (F-AAS), cadmium by the electrotermic atomic absorption spectrometry (ET-AAS) and mercury by the advanced mercury analyzer AMA 254.

Numerical splitting methods for nonsmooth convex optimization problemsBitterlich, Sandy 11 December 2023 (has links)
In this thesis, we develop and investigate numerical methods for solving nonsmooth convex optimization problems in real Hilbert spaces. We construct algorithms, such that they handle the terms in the objective function and constraints of the minimization problems separately, which makes these methods simpler to compute. In the first part of the thesis, we extend the well known AMA method from Tseng to the Proximal AMA algorithm by introducing variable metrics in the subproblems of the primal-dual algorithm. For a special choice of metrics, the subproblems become proximal steps. Thus, for objectives in a lot of important applications, such as signal and image processing, machine learning or statistics, the iteration process consists of expressions in closed form that are easy to calculate. In the further course of the thesis, we intensify the investigation on this algorithm by considering and studying a dynamical system. Through explicit time discretization of this system, we obtain Proximal AMA. We show the existence and uniqueness of strong global solutions of the dynamical system and prove that its trajectories converge to the primal-dual solution of the considered optimization problem. In the last part of this thesis, we minimize a sum of finitely many nonsmooth convex functions (each can be composed by a linear operator) over a nonempty, closed and convex set by smoothing these functions. We consider a stochastic algorithm in which we take gradient steps of the smoothed functions (which are proximal steps if we smooth by Moreau envelope), and use a mirror map to 'mirror'' the iterates onto the feasible set. In applications, we compare them to similar methods and discuss the advantages and practical usability of these new algorithms.

Fictions of Development: Decolonization, Development Economics, and the African NovelHorst, Lauren January 2023 (has links)
This dissertation, “Fictions of Development: Decolonization, Development Economics, and the African Novel,” maps the tensions as well as the surprising resonances and interdependencies between development institutions and African literary production. The arc of the dissertation begins in the early 1960s, as many postcolonial countries marked their independence by embarking on ambitious national development programs. It extends through the turbulent 1970s, during which the Global South agitated for a New International Economic Order that would deliver “trade, not aid,” and the reactionary 1980s, in which the World Bank and the IMF pressured governments across the Global South into adopting a series of macroeconomic reforms known as structural adjustment. The dissertation ends in the present moment, as pressing social and environmental concerns have given rise to a (supposedly) new era of “sustainable” development.
Taken as a whole, “Fictions of Development” unsettles received notions about both development and African literature. Scholars working in and around postcolonial studies have long understood development as the contemporary counterpart to, and outgrowth of, the “civilizing mission” that once underwrote centuries of European conquest and colonization. Such close ties between colonialism and development have given rise to the widespread assumption that postcolonial writers, in rejecting colonialism, also rejected development.
However, by turning to the historical interactions between writers from “developing” countries and the organizations charged with the task of “developing” those countries, this dissertation tells a more complex story. Applying the tools and methods of literary criticism to a wide range of materials—from novels, plays, and memoirs to national economic planning documents, World Bank mission reports, and tourist brochures—this dissertation traces some of the ways that western development institutions use narrative form to stake their claims to knowledge of (and therefore power over) the so-called “developing” world. It also shows how four African writers—Botswana’s Bessie Head, Ghana’s Ama Ata Aidoo, Kenya’s Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, and Zimbabwe’s Tsitsi Dangarembga—use the narrative form of the novel to propose alternative visions of development grounded in the principles of social and economic wellbeing.
