The thesis is about the tripartite system of professional relations of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, amalgamating the public authorities as well as the trade-union and employers’ organisations. The thesis asks itself two questions. To which extend can we speak of a model of professional relations proper to Luxembourg ? As várias figurações de Thânatos na poesia de Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen / The various figurations of Thânatos in the poetry of Sophia de Mello Breyner AndresenSouza, Angela Gonçalves de 25 March 2011 (has links)
Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, Porto, 1919 Lisboa 2004 was an important Portuguese poet from the 20th Century. She absorbed a very intense influence from the classic Greek culture in her work. In her poetry books she presents us a constant and intense dialog with some myths from the Ancient Greece. This dissertation begins from the findings that the myth of Thanatos, in its most various pictures, maintains an internal dialog with Sophia Andresens poetry, building up a nostalgic and melancholic atmosphere. This paper is divided in three chapters Thanatos: Time and Memory, Thanatos: Night and Thanatos: Minotaur and the Furies.

In this work, we focused on three works of Marguerite Andersen, which are written around a theme : the mixture of reality and fiction. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is based on a study of autofictional which is closely related to the investigation of character identity. All of these exactly refer to the author's motivation : on the one hand, by sharing her personal stories with the person who also lives in a multicultural context, in such a way that her writing is considered a pedagogy. On the other hand, as a female writer, she could be more able to understand women's struggle and help them to rebuild a brighter future in society more objectively. Thus, the first part of this thesis is devoted to construct a consistent identity among the character, the narrator, the author; the second part analyzes the writing in terms of time and space; and the third is composed of three chapters, which elaborate narrative heterogeneity among three works respectively. Based on the analysis of narrative modality exploited by the author in each work, in the conclusion part, we draw from three works a common which leads to a reflection about constant theme and the writing skills explored by the author in other works£»meanwhile, it highlights the contribution of andersenienne in regards to women's writing and Francophone literature.

Factors that influence mental health services utilization by children who have experienced adversityStebbins, Mary B 01 January 2019 (has links)
Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are linked to increased mental health problems in children, but their association with mental health services utilization is not well known. This secondary analysis used 2016 National Survey of Children’s Health data from two samples: children aged 6-17-years-old with a mental or behavioral condition in need of treatment or counseling (N = 5,723); and a subsample of children who experienced at least one ACE (n = 3,812). Multiple logistic regression and latent class analysis (LCA) were performed to examine the association between ACEs and mental health services utilization. Multiple logistic regressions also examined the associations of parent/caretaker vulnerability, school-system, and medical-system factors on mental health services utilization for children with ACEs using the Gelberg-Andersen Behavioral Model for Vulnerable Populations and a Systems of Care approach as the framework for model building. Children with increased ACE scores did not have higher odds of utilizing mental health services compared to children at lower levels of or no ACEs. For children who experienced adversity, increased parent/caretaker vulnerability was associated with lower odds and the current receipt of special education services with increased odds of mental health services utilization in adjusted models. Strengths of this study included the large dataset and generalizability to the U.S. population. There were limitations to the measurement of ACEs and other key variables. The current study identified children who experienced adversity as an underserviced population for mental health services.

The Changes in the German Family Politics : A step away from a Conservative Welfare State?Högselius, Carl January 2007 (has links)
<p>The purpose of this paper is to analyze the ongoing changes in German family policy. It explores the issue of whether the German welfare state, in this policy field, can still be regarded as a conservative welfare model or rather approaches a more liberal or social democratic model. A qualitative method is used to analyze the material, especially from the German government, including press releases, other public documents and also articles from the political weekly magazines Der Spiegel and Die Zeit. The changes analyzed are the new parental benefit, the expansion of child care, the concept of whole-day schools and the system of joint taxation. The point of departure is Gösta Esping-Andersen’s categorization of three types of welfare states: the social democratic, the conservative and the liberal. Esping-Andersen uses two tools, decommodification and social stratification, to determine which welfare model a country is placed in. My analysis of German family policy shows that the German welfare model is going to be more towards a social democratic model than a conservative welfare model.</p>

Gerber-Shiu analysis in some dependent Sparre Andersen risk modelsWoo, Jae-Kyung 03 August 2010 (has links)
In this thesis, we consider a generalization of the classical Gerber-Shiu function in various risk models. The generalization involves introduction of two new variables in the original penalty function including the surplus prior to ruin and the deficit at ruin. These new variables are the minimum surplus level before ruin occurs and the surplus immediately after the second last claim before ruin occurs. Although these quantities can not be observed until ruin occurs, we can still identify their distributions in advance because they do not functionally depend on the time of ruin, but only depend on known quantities including the initial surplus allocated to the business. Therefore, some ruin related quantities obtained by incorporating four variables in the generalized Gerber-Shiu function can help our understanding of the analysis of the random walk and the resultant risk management.
In Chapter 2, we demonstrate the generalized Gerber-Shiu functions satisfy the defective renewal equation in terms of the compound geometric distribution in the ordinary Sparre Andersen renewal risk models (continuous time). As a result, forms of joint and marginal distributions associated with the variables in the generalized penalty function are derived for an arbitrary distribution of interclaim/interarrival times. Because the identification of the compound geometric components is difficult without any specific conditions on the interclaim times, in Chapter 3 we consider the special case when the interclaim time distribution is from the Coxian class of distribution, as well as the classical compound Poisson models. Note that the analysis of the generalized Gerber-Shiu function involving three (the classical two variables and the surplus after the second last claim) is sufficient to study of four variable. It is shown to be true even in the cases where the interclaim of the first event is assumed to be different from the subsequent interclaims (i.e. delayed renewal risk models) in Chapter 4 or the counting (the number of claims) process is defined in the discrete time (i.e. discrete renewal risk models) in Chapter 5. In Chapter 6 the two-sided bounds for a renewal equation are studied. These results may be used in many cases related to the various ruin quantities from the generalized Gerber-Shiu function analyzed in previous chapters. Note that the larger number of iterations of computing the bound produces the closer result to the exact value. However, for the nonexponential bound the form of bound contains the convolution involving usually heavy-tailed distribution (e.g. heavy-tailed claims, extreme events), we need to find the alternative method to reinforce the convolution computation in this case.
