Nascent DreamsIngmire, Bryce 06 September 2012 (has links)
Nascent Dreams (2012) is a work for full orchestra that explores the elasticity of form as musical analogy. In a programmatic context, each thematic section can be interpreted as representing landscapes or events encountered while dreaming. Listeners are privy to the nascency of each section before the music whisks one away to the next soundscape. Musically, the work emphasizes melody and lyricism in order to establish a song-like quality throughout.

Tantas veces Pedro: Una conciencia expuesta literariamenteGuzmán Castro, Ximena January 2004 (has links)

January 2000 (has links)
This thesis offers an analysis of the novel La ultima mudanza de Felipe Carrillo of the Peruvian writer Alfredo Bryce Echenique. It is an approach to the narrative strategies which allow the reader to recreate an oral atmosphere through writing, and which propose, consequently, new perspectives to reading fiction. / First, the distinctive features of the Post-boom novel are studied so that the links which associate Bryce's work with this literary period can be established (chapter one). Second, the narrative techniques presented in the novel are studied, namely, orality, musical and literary intertexts, digression, and dialogic unstableness (chapter two). These elements---especially orality and intertextuality---make possible the construction of a conversational dynamic in which the author develops the different thematic axes of his work: search for love (chapter three), search of a national, as well as a social and creative identities (chapter four), and literary self-consciousness (chapter five).

Fuel Load and Plant Community Dynamics of Bryce Canyon National ParkWight, Doug W. 01 May 1994 (has links)
A comprehensive fuel load assessment of all plant communities in Bryce Canyon National Park is provided. Fuel loads by community type are pooled into "fuel type associations" based on similarity in predicted fire behavior, and the fuel type associations are mapped throughout the Park. For each fuel type association, a series of fire behavior simulations is presented describing expected rates of spread and intensities for typical conditions in each month of the fire season and for a worst-case scenario. These fire behavior predictions provide guidelines for writing prescribed burning prescriptions or for quickly assessing the need for possible fire suppression and the amount of effort required to suppress particular fires.
