Bostadsbristen är en högaktuell fråga i Stockholm där det råder stor efterfrågan på bostäder. De obebyggda tomterna i Stockholm city är parker, grönstråk och torg vilket redan fyller en viktig funktion och bör inte bebyggas. Det finns flera lösningar på hur bostadsarea kan tillföras för att mätta samhällets behov.  Att bygga på befintliga byggnader är ett av flera alternativ som finns i dagsläget och bidrar till en lösning som tillför bostadsarea på exploaterad mark. Examensarbetet kommer att behandla en påbyggnad av bostäder på parkeringshus samt undersöka hur påbyggnaden påverkar omgivningen. Kärnan i examensarbetet är resultatet av en undersökning kring brand, akustik, solljus, konstruktion, installation och omgivningspåverkan för att sedan ge ett förslag på ett gestaltningsarbete. Med dessa undersökningar har en slutsats dragits att det är möjligt med en påbyggnad av bostäder på parkeringshus. Detta kommer att leda till hög produktionskostnad men också ge en lönsamhet. / The housing shortage is a highly topical issue in Stockholm with a large demand for housing. The undeveloped plots in Stockholm city is parks, green streets and squares which already plays an important role and should not be developed. There are several solutions to how residential area can be added to saturate the needs of society. Building on existing buildings is one of several options available in the current situation and contribute to a solution that adds residential area to developed land. This thesis will address the extension of housing on a car park.   The core of the thesis is the result of an investigation of fire, acoustics, sunlight, construction, installation and ambient influences to then provide a proposal on the architectural design. With these studies, a conclusion drawn that it is possible with an extension of homes on the car park. This will lead to high production cost but also giving viability.

The diploma thesis solves construction of new public transport stops and relocation of tramway tracks route which follows new traffic organization in the area of Veveří, Šumavská, Kounicova and Nerudova streets in the city Brno. The project aims for an improvement of the public transportation level of service and of the quality of pedestrian routes in the area. The focus also lies on adjusting of routes of the private motorised transport with the goal of traffic calming in the Veveří street, on including cycling infrastructure into the plan and finally the emphasis is put on the overall improvement of the value of the area through urban planning. Part of the project are to one side public transport stops and tramway tracks and to the other side a planning of a park, defining of an area for building public amenities and planning a new underground car park on Akademické square. At the same time, the preservation of green space and of the character of tree avenues with their expansion is taken into consideration.

The aim of this diploma thesis is a design of new office building. The construction is situated in the city of Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in the Vsetín district. The building is a detached house and it has three floors and an underground level. On the first floor, there is an entrance hall of the building, a café, educational centre rooms and a tourist information office. On the second and third floors, there is an office area. The underground car park provides fifteen parking spots for the tenants The floor plan of the building is of a rectangular shape. An unroofed atrium, cutting through the inner space, lightens the entire building interior. The building is designed as a monolithic reinforced concrete frame on a base slab. The monolithic frame is designed to be infilled with clay blocks. The house roofing is designed with a flat green roof.

The aim of the project is to design well-arranged intersection of three different types of roads and create safe, comfortable and pedestrian friendly crossroad. There are two basic versions. The modification of junction was elected as the most suitable version, which is designed and specified by technical report and drawings.

Parking Garages as Spaces of Opportunity - An Analysis of Overlooked Nodes as Potential Spaces for Adaptive Reuse

Parking garages belong to the basic inventory of today’s cities, however their existence and contribution to the urban fabric is marginally discussed under the urban themes of structural transformation, environmental underperformance and socio-cultural fragmentation. This thesis is a study of parking infrastructure in the inner-city of Malmö with a particular focus on rooftops as spaces of opportunities for a sustainable urban development.The thesis aims to investigate whether an integration of parking garages into the urban fabric of their local environment can contribute to a more equal, mixed-use city development through adaptive reuse of the rooftops as public green spaces.Based on a literature review on public space transformation, urban green spaces, its threats and services and an investigation of a specific case study, this thesis identifies parking garages as potential spaces to compensate a lack of urban green and public environment. The study of possible integration of public and green services into the existing structures of parking garages is performed on the level of a city wide analysis, as well as in a particular context of a central district in Malmö. The study shows that the location of parking garages within network nodes of an increasingly mobile society and fragmented city structure could be strategic locations for additional uses. Furthermore an evaluation of parking garage usage has confirmed, that stand-alone, open-roof structures have been affected by vacancy, specifically in the upper floors due to decrease of demand for car parking in the central parts of Malmö. Finally this study concludes that parking garages are overlooked nodes with further potentials for adaptive reuse.

Extreme PIV Applications: Simultaneous and Instantaneous Velocity and Concentration Measurements on Model and Real Scale Car Park Fire Scenarios

This study is a presentation of an instantaneous and simultaneous velocity and concentration measurement technique and its applications on car park fire scenarios. <p>In this actual chapter 1 general introduction is given to each chapter. Chapter 2 is dedicated to a detailed description of the instantaneous and simultaneous velocity and concentration measurement technique and its associated error assessment methodology. The name of the new technique is derived from the names of the acquired parameters (VELocity and COncentration) and shall be hereafter referred to as VELCO. After having validated and performed an error assessment of this technique, it is applied to an investigation of full-scale car park (30 m x 30 m x 2.6 m – Gent / WFRGENT) fire cases in chapter 3. The measurements were carried out with the financial support of IWT-SBO program. In the full-scale measurements only the velocity part is applied of VELCO, yet it can be considered as its application since the special data treating was developed and implemented in the Rabon (see: §2.1.2) program, which is the software of the new technique along with Tucsok (see: §2.1.1) and they will be both discussed in the related chapter. Here it is enough to mention that the concentration and velocity information can be obtained independently as well. During the full-scale measurements, beyond of VELCO the smoke back-layering distances (SBL) are also derived from the temperature values, which were measured by thermocouples under the ceiling in the midline of the car park. The critical velocity, which is an important measure of fire safety, can be obtained from the SBL results. In chapter 4, isothermal fire modeling is surveyed in order to present how full-scale fires are modeled in small-scale. In this part of the study the theory of fire related formulae and an isothermal model are described. Here it is important to stress the fact that the fire modeling is not directly related to the VELCO technique. However it connects the full-scale to the small-scale measurements, which the technique is applied on. Chapter 5 discusses small-scale measurements (1:25 – Rhode Saint Genese / VKI) on the car park introduced in chapter 3 and their validation. After the validation, more complex car parks scenarios are also investigated due to the easy to change layout in the small-scale model with respect to the full-scale car park. In this chapter the smoke back-layering distances are obtained by VELCO. Táto práca popisuje v súčastnosti široko používané architektúry a modely pre Hlboké Učenie, riešiace úlohu detekcie a klasifikácie objektov vo videu. Dôraz tu bude kladený na ich použiteľnosť na vstavaných zariadeniach. Postupne preberieme kroky a odvôvodňovanie pri výbere najlepšieho vstavaného systému pre našu aplikáciu. Ukážková aplikáci pozostáva hlavne z detekcie vozidiel a detekcie voľných parkovacích miest s využitím algoritmov Hlbokého Učenia. Táto aplikácia umožňuje monitorovať počet vozidiel, nachádzajúcich sa na parkovisku a zároveň rozhodnúť, či sa nachádzajú na prakovacom mieste alebo nie. Následne tu budú prebrané kroky nutné ku konfigurácii zariadenia s dôrazom na optimalizáciu hardvéru pre dosiahnutie čo najväčšej rýchlosti. V ďaľšej časti bude poskytnuté porovnanie vybraných modelov, ktoré budú porovnávané hlavne v kategóriách ako rýchlosť alebo F1 skóre. Najlepší kandidát bude použitý na riešenie našej aplikácie a následné testovanie jej vlastností s názvom Inteligentné parkovisko.
