Kompetenční profil tenisového trenéra z pohledu hráčů / Compentency Profile of Tennis Coach from the point of player's view

Klimeš, Kryštof January 2018 (has links)
Title: Compentency profile of tennis coach from the point of player's view Objectives: The main objective of my diploma thesis is to create competency profile of tennis coach from the point of players view showing from the list of the competencies and compare player's opinion with the differences beween the ages and sex. I focus on mladší žactvo, starší žactvo, dorost and dospělí. Another part of my diploma thesis is the Comparison of the newly acquired competency profile from the view of players with compentency profit of tennis coach from the view of independent coaches made like a part of different work. Methods: The research was done base on judging the importance of the individual competences. The people that were asked made their decisions based on the four levels of Likert's scale without a middle value. The list of competency has been made according to previous resources, literature, interviews with the tennis specialics, coaches, and player. For clarity, the individual competencies were splitted into three categories (characters, skills and another profesíonal atribution). Results: The results of this work shows the top twenty compentencies of tennis coaches from the view of individual players. It also shows the difference between importance of individual categories. At work, it shows...

Gender Negotiations of Female Collegiate Athletes in the Strength and Conditioning Environment: A Qualitative Analysis

Roth, Rachel I'Leene 01 May 2015 (has links)
Research has shown that collegiate female athletes are oftentimes faced with negotiating meanings of their femininity and their athleticism. Athleticism has traditionally been equated with masculinity, and to be a collegiate athlete requires certain levels of skill, experience, and athletic ability. Therefore, female collegiate athletes are conflicted with managing their identities in order to avoid accusations of their sexuality, which often results in being labeled as deviant. A primary indicator of athleticism is muscularity, which is also considered a masculine trait. In order to stay within gender boundaries, female athletes may go above and beyond to emphasize their femininity, or they may hold back on performance and training to avoid a muscular physique. An area of collegiate athletics that has become increasingly important is the strength and conditioning coach and weight room. These coaches are responsible for training athletes in power and speed development to enhance sport performance and prevent injury. Research has shown, however, that the weight room and activity of lifting weights has not been deemed socially appropriate for women. The purpose of this study was to understand first, how do Division-I female athletes negotiate their femininity and muscularity within the strength and conditioning environment? Second, is there a difference in femininity and muscularity negotiations and management between underclassmen female collegiate athletes and upperclassmen female collegiate athletes? Finally, what aspects of the weight room influence the negotiations of femininity and muscularity among female collegiate athletes? To gain a rich understanding of how female athletes negotiate their femininity with muscularity in the strength and conditioning environment, a qualitative methodology was used. Semi-structured, in-depth interviews were conducted with 14 athletes, from 7 different sports, at a Midwestern Division-I university. Using a critical feminist interactionist theoretical framework, this study found that female collegiate athletes negotiate their meanings of muscularity and femininity in the strength and conditioning environment. Athletes viewed it necessary to place boundaries on their muscularity in regards to size, preferring the `toned' physique. All athletes acknowledged a positive impact on their sport performance, yet some athletes admitted to holding back during strength and conditioning sessions. Others believed that the weight lifting program was not threatening to their muscularity, but explained they would hold back if it did have a `bulking' effect. Finally, some athletes performed additional cardiovascular training to reduce body size. Additional findings suggest that the weight room environment is influential for the female athletes. The public weight room was described as a gendered space that was intimidating. In contrast, the collegiate weight room was a place that was welcoming to the female athletes. The strength and conditioning coach played an important role to the environment and the female athletes. Concluding results show that inconsistent with previous research, there were no consistent findings in attitude or behavior differences between underclassmen and upperclassmen athletes.

Cardoso, Marcelo Francisco da Silva January 2017 (has links)
Coach's leadership behaviour can maximize the athlete's performance or even harm her, considering the technical and interpersonal viewpoints. One of the most widely used scales to evaluate leadership behaviour is LSS, proposed by Chelladurai and Saleh (1980). However, studies conducted with this scale have not explored the intrinsic subdimensions of these behaviors, in addition, there is a shortage of scales drawn up in the Brazilian context that consider our cultural idiosyncrasies and that they evaluate precisely and independently of their dimensions. The goals of the thesis were: propose and test the validity of a new trainer measurement instrument in the Brazilian sporting context, based on the multidimensional model of leadership in the sport, identifying in each of the measurement scales, the battery that evaluates leadership behavior in the sport, its underlying structure and psychometric qualities. Participated in the study 572 athletes, male = 410; Female = 162, with ages ranging from 13 to 35 years ( = 15,79±3,17), practitioners of individual and collective modalities. Two instruments were used: a bio-socio-demographic questionnaire and the second instrument for coach's leadership behaviour, in which each dimension was composed of 10 positively formulated items and with an agreement scale of type Likert, comprised of 5 points, starting "strongly disagree" (1) up to "strongly agree" (5). Five studies were conducted, testing separately each dimension: (1) training and instruction, (2) democratic behaviour, (3) autocratic behaviour, (4) social support and (5) positive feedback, in order to identify how many and what are intrinsic or latent factors in each dimension, checking, also the adequacy of the developed model, inherent to the scale of measurement of the dimension to the available data. Finally, the reliability of the results was evaluated by the precision measurements of each of the dimensions, on each measurement scale. The statistical procedures were based on exploratory factorials analyses, confirmatory and modelling structural equations, as well as internal consistency calculations, all analyses conducted based on policóricas matrices. Overall, the results of the test battery to evaluate the leadership behaviour of the trainer demonstrated the variances of the dimensions between 35% and 57.12%, with absolute, thrifty, compared and correction indices considered fairly satisfactory, demonstrating that the available data fits appropriately to the hypothetical models of the evaluated constructs. The values of the measured precision measurements were satisfactory, revealing that the items in each dimension are consistent with each other, representing an accurate measurement and internal coherence of the construct and its dimension. It is concluded that the model of structural equation tested satisfactorily confirms the existence of five dimensions, with two second-order factors, consistent and precise in the explanatory measure of the trainer's leadership behaviour.

In the present qualitative research, the objective was to analyze the problem question of the training of basketball coaches of the basic categories, which is carried out through the sports institutions of Franca, and also to investigate the investments, actions and planning for these professionals to perform Courses and clinics for the preparation of young athletes. For that, a review of the literature was carried out, addressing the themes related to the historical aspects of the modality, training of coaches, trajectory of learning of coaches and initiation of basketball in Brazil. Through the semi-structured interview technique, five coaches from the Franca training categories were interviewed, and two technical coordinators, the data from these interviews were analyzed according to the Content Analysis method. Five categories were evidenced: a) Learning by sport practice; b) Learning from the formal context; c) non-formal context learning; d) Learning offered in the work environment; Difficulties encountered in the profession. There were testimonies favorable to the different learning in the contribution of the training of the coaches. Despite the existence of public policies of the Confederation and federation, the sports institutions of Franca seek to conduct courses, as well as meetings between the coaches, where it was observed exchange of relevant experiences among their peers and providing the critical reflection coming from the practice and the Meetings together, being able to generate new meaningful strategies. It is concluded that, in order for the training of trainers to be effective, it is hoped to generate changes in the professional preparation of basketball coaches in the country, to encourage a partnership between higher education institutions, federations, confederations and sports institutions, Aligning and systematizing a training program that can serve as a strategy for the development of the coach. / CNPq: 159472/2016-6
