Tillgänglighet av skapandematerial i förskolan : En kvalitativ studie om pedagogisk miljö och estetiska lärprocesser / Availability of creative material in preschool : A qualitative study of educational environment and aesthetic learning processes

Syftet med den här studien är att få förståelse för och bidra med kunskap kring tillgängligheten av skapandematerial i förskolans pedagogiska inomhusmiljö. Samt hur barns utveckling och lärande kan påverkas utifrån förskolans pedagogiska idé kring miljöns utformning. Frågeställningarna som vi har utgått ifrån handlar bland annat om vad som tillhör en pedagogisk miljö och vad förskollärarens roll är i skapandet av den pedagogiska miljön? Vilken syn förskollärarna i verksamheten har på tillgängligheten av skapandematerial för barn och vilka pedagogiska idéer det finns gällande tillgången? Samt hur barns utveckling och lärande kan påverkas av tillgängligheten av skapandematerial i förskolan?   Det här är en kvalitativ studie. Den utgår från ett sociokulturellt perspektiv samt har en fenomenografisk analysmetod. Den använda metoden för att samla in källdatan är intervjuer. Dessa har genomförts med fyra förskollärare från fyra olika förskolor i södra Sverige. Intervjuerna spelades in med ljudinspelning och transkriberades därefter till text. Det i sin tur användes till att presentera resultat och analysen i studien.   Studiens resultat visar på att de fyra förskolorna ser väldigt olika ut när det kommer till den pedagogiska miljön och tillgängligheten av skapandematerial. Både skillnader och likheter har dock framkommit i resultatet. Alla förskollärare berättar om sina möjligheter att påverka den pedagogiska miljön och alla förskollärare anser att de hela tiden har någon form av skapandematerial tillgängligt för barnen. Vad tillgängligt skapandematerial innebär råder det dock olika meningar kring.

Criação de valor compartilhado : um estudo no setor de papel para embalagem

O presente trabalho analisou a propensão dos executivos do setor de papel para embalagem no Brasil à aplicação dos conceitos de Criação de Valor Compartilhado (CVC) como forma de aprimorar a vantagem competitiva das empresas do setor. O conceito de Valor compartilhado foi lançado por Porter e Kramer em 2011, através do artigo publicado na Harvard Business Review chamado de: A Grande Idea – Como consertar o capitalismo. De acordo com Porter e Kramer, o conceito de valor compartilhado redefine as fronteiras do capitalismo ao conectar melhor o sucesso da empresa com o progresso da sociedade, este conceito abre muitas maneiras de atender a novas necessidades, ganhar eficiência, criar diferenciação e expandir mercados, tornando-se mais competitiva. De acordo com os autores, se as empresas utilizarem as mesmas ferramentas que norteiam suas escolhas no core business para analisarem as oportunidades socioambientais, deixa de ser um custo ou filantropia para se tornar uma fonte de oportunidade e de vantagem competitiva (PORTER; KRAMER, 2011). Para a realização do trabalho, procedeu-se à revisão de literatura disponível sobre o tema CVC, sobre estratégia e competitividade, o que permitiu conhecer melhor os conceitos para que uma empresa possa coloca-los de fato em prática. Após a revisão da literatura, realizou-se a pesquisa de fontes secundárias, que utilizou dados coletados através de materiais internos e externos sobre o tema disponíveis no Brasil e no mundo, tais como: publicações de revistas, vídeos, apresentações em fóruns, artigos, dissertações e teses acadêmicas, publicações em sites e notícias vinculadas. Os dados secundários ajudaram a tangibilizar o conceito de CVC realizado na revisão literária, através de exemplos de empresas de classe mundial, que já estão aplicando e desenvolvendo projetos e iniciativas de CVC. A partir dos dados recolhidos através de entrevistas de profundidade com executivos e especialistas em sustentabilidade, verificou-se que o tema é pouco disseminado e, ainda, confundido com os conceitos de sustentabilidade, porém, indicam a propensão às práticas de CVC pelas empresas do setor. / The present work analyzed the application of the concepts of Creating Shared Value (CSV) by executives of the area of paper packaging in Brazil as a way to improve the competitive advantage of companies in the sector. The concept of Shared Value was devised by Porter and Kramer in 2011 through the Harvard Business Review article called "The Great Idea How to Fix Capitalism." According to Porter and Kramer, the concept of shared value redefines the boundaries of capitalism by better connecting the company's success with the progress of society, this concept opens up many ways to meet the new needs of this society, such as gaining efficiency, creating differentiation and expand markets, making it more competitive. According to the authors, if companies use the same tools that guide their choices in the core business to analyze socio-environmental opportunities, it is no longer a cost or philanthropy to become a source of opportunity and competitive advantage (PORTER, KRAMMER, 2011). CSR and CSV: The Managerial Interpretation of a Blurry Line

From the moment the concept of Creating Shared Value (CSV) was introduced in 2011, it was by some considered to be an evolutionary way of contributing to society whereas for others it initiated an ongoing critical debate. This debate that is taking place on the academic scene has, among other things, focused on defining what CSV really is and differentiating it from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This is mainly because the critical side believes that CSV is unoriginal and strikingly similar to CSR. Interestingly, in practice companies are implementing CSV in many different ways and some are adding it to their CSR strategy. The fact that these two concepts are closely related has led to a blurry line, which in return has caused disagreements in the mentioned debate. Given the above, we aim at understanding how managers interpret and implement CSV in comparison to CSR and what the differences between these two concepts are in practice. Data was collected by employing case studies which entailed semi-structured interviews with company informants. The findings indicated that managers interpret CSV as a way of contributing to society as well as the firm’s business simultaneously, and thus the implementation of the concept is highly industry-specific. CSR on the other hand, was mostly interpreted as a way of conforming to external pressures and is therefore implemented in relatively similar ways across the companies interviewed. In contrast to academia, it was indicated that managers are more interested in infusing the above two concepts than separating and differentiating them.

Engaging the private sector in public-private partnerships in commodity value chains through corporate communication

Over the past decades the traditional development agenda of a donor-beneficiary model has been replaced by one builton partnerships with mutual benefits. In recent years the paradigms of ‘aid effectiveness’ and ‘developmenteffectiveness’, characterized by a set of new and emerging actors that play an important role in development and arenewed focus on economic growth, have emerged. One of the actors that is becoming more important is the privatesector, as they increasingly have the opportunity to take on a new profound role as development driver. While there hasbeen a trend of decreasing government spending for development aid, the private sector has considerable financial assetsat their disposal. However, the financial contribution of the private sector in sectors related to the SustainableDevelopment Goals remains low. Public-private partnerships are seen as a way that can attract the private sector indoing investments in sustainable development. Especially for global agri-food chains, partnerships have the ambitionto bring about sustainable change. In order to attract the private sector in such collaborations, an understanding of theirinformation needs regarding public-private partnerships and sustainability is necessary. The focus of this research wasto explain those information needs. As part of a case study research, interviews with the private sector were conducted.To gain additional insights, web testing tasks were conducted with the same interviewees. It is found that p the two mainreasons to join in a partnership for the private partners of this case study are because it is a platform for collaborationand knowledge exchange. Understanding these motivations helps to articulate a message that is seen as valuable. Next,with regard to sustainability interests, these mainly fall under the three pillars of sustainability – economic,environmental, social – but it was also found that the companies can use information on traceability and connectingtheir work to the Sustainable Development Goals as ways to communicate about their sustainability efforts. Relatingthis to the findings on information needs and how to communicate about such topics, the main findings suggest that theinformation should be concrete, result-oriented and proof of impact. In general, the information needs of the privatesector all to less or more extent have to do with continuation of the business, while also interest is shown for makingsustainability a viable business case and being a thought leader on sustainability topics. Automatic Status Logger For a Gas Turbine

The Company Siemens Industrial Turbo Machinery AB manufactures and launches in operation among other things gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, turn-key power plants and carries out service for components for heat and power production. Siemens also performs research and development, marketing, sales and installations of turbines and completes power plants, service and refurbish. Our thesis for the engineering degree is to develop an automatic status log which will be used as a tool to control how the status of the machine is before and after technical service at gas turbines. Operational disturbances will be registered in a structured way in order to get a good possibility to follow up the reliability of the application. An automatic log function has been developed and will be activated at start, stop and shutdown of the turbine system. Log files are created automatically and get a name with the event type, the date and the time. The files contain data as timestamp, name, measured values and units of the signals which are going to be analyzed by the support engineers. They can evaluate the cause of the problem using the log files.

A implantação da Vulcabrás Azaleia no município de Frei Paulo/SE : impactos no desenvolvimento local

The regional and local development in many Brazilian cities and especially in the Northeast from the 1990s, was based on tax incentives that did not take into account the aspects of identity and culture with the potential of these places, with the argument of persuasion generation employment and income for localities more humble. Given this scenario was implemented in the 2000s in the municipality of Frei Paulo (SE) the footwear industry "Vulcabrás Azaleia", which generates significant direct jobs and contributes substantially to socioeconomic changes of the city, but out of sync with the prevailing theme of local development and also to sustainable development. Thus this paper aims to examine sustainability from the perspective of local development in the municipality of Frei Paulo (SE) checking the proportionate influences from the footwear industry. This is an investigation of descriptive and explanatory character of quantitative and qualitative nature, data were collected by means of semi-structured questionnaire with open and closed questions, applied to the actors involved in the municipal context. The study concluded that there was job creation and which substantially increased the purchasing power of the population and therefore GDP growth of the city with a better distribution of income to the population through the HDI. Finally it is shown that the actors involved in the county in its entirety unaware of environmental responsibility actions performed by the footwear industry in favor of the locality, but also understand little or nothing of the issues involving sustainable development and local development / O desenvolvimento regional e local em diversos municípios brasileiros e principalmente na região Nordeste a partir da década de 1990, teve como base incentivos fiscais que não levaram em consideração os aspectos de identidade com as potencialidades e cultura destas localidades, tendo como argumento de persuasão a geração de emprego e renda para localidades mais humildes. Diante deste cenário foi implantada na primeira década de 2000 no município de Frei Paulo (SE) a indústria calçadista Vulcabrás Azaleia , a qual gera significativos empregos diretos e que contribui substancialmente para mudanças socioeconômicas da cidade, mas sem sincronia com a temática vigente de desenvolvimento local e também com o desenvolvimento sustentável. Sendo assim este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar sob a perspectiva da sustentabilidade o desenvolvimento local do município de Frei Paulo (SE) verificando as influências proporcionadas a partir da indústria calçadista. Trata-se de uma investigação do tipo descritivo de caráter explicativo e de natureza quanti-qualitativa, os dados foram coletados mediante aplicação de questionário semi-estruturado com questões abertas e fechadas, aplicados aos atores envolvidos no contexto municipal. O estudo concluiu que houve geração de empregos e que aumentou substancialmente o poder aquisitivo da população e consequentemente aumento do PIB do município com uma melhor distribuição de renda para população, através do IDH. Por fim é demonstrado que os atores envolvidos no município desconhecem em sua totalidade ações de responsabilidade socioambiental realizada pela indústria calçadista em favor da localidade, como também pouco ou nada entendem dos aspectos que envolvem o desenvolvimento sustentável e o desenvolvimento local

Intelligent Tourist Information System

Nowadays people use mobile phones and other mobile devices. Most of us have a small computing device that is always with us. People use it example for calling, as calendar and organizer. Mobile devices with GPS receiver are also used to find paths in navigation. The main disadvantage of those systems is that we have to know places which we want to visit and they usually do not store any usable, valuable information about points of interest except phone numbers and addresses. The main idea of this thesis was to design a system that will run on most of phones and palms and will be helpful when visiting some new places and cities. This system should be able to find a route using user criteria. Those criteria should be simple and natural, like for example: a list of museums, the most famous historical objects, restaurants to visit, constraints to travel by bus and by walking. The system should find a path that fulfils those criteria, show it on screen, show names of objects, some short descriptions and photos of them and possible entrance costs. It should also be able to estimate time needed to travel from one object to the next and if it is possible, advise which bus line or other public means of transport may be used. It should be helpful for people that want to visit a city without having much information about it. Paths that are output of this system are only a proposition for trip. They will not be optimal but can not be counterintuitive and must be acceptable by the user.

Accounting for Value : Using Social Return on Investment (SROI) to measure the value created by CSR initiatives

The role of the corporation is shifting from an entity focused on making monetary profits to an organization focused on creating value for all of its stakeholders. Despite of this many of the guidelines, standards and reporting frameworks that have been developed to take into account the increasing stakeholder expectations only capture corporate inputs and outputs relating to social initiatives. By not understanding the value created by social initiatives information is missed that could be useful to the organization and its stakeholders. The purpose of this study has therefore been to see if the Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology can be a viable tool for companies to use for measuring the value created by CSR activities. This has been accomplished via a case study of a CSR initiative funded by a multinational wind power company in India, and more specifically the building and use of a traditional water harvesting structure called a taanka. Having gone through the six steps of SROI, including monetization of all non-market social, environmental and economic values, the results show that for every Indian Rupee (INR) invested into the studied CSR initiative 29 INR of social value have been created for the stakeholders. The results also show the relation between different inputs and outcomes for the stakeholders affected by the initiative. By analyzing the results several lessons for the construction of future taankas can be learnt. Each taanka should for instance be constructed for as many households as possible and ownership should be shared by the users. More resources should also be allocated to following up the outcomes created by CSR initiatives to help to maximize the efficiency of the resources used to create social value. The methodology can also be used to understand the shared corporate and societal values created by measuring the value created for both the company and the stakeholders, which in turn is useful when deciding on the allocation of corporate resources.
