Enseignement-apprentissage d’une discipline linguistique et non-linguistique à l’école primaire : analyse de l'action conjointe professeurs-élèves dans des classes primaires bilingues en Thaïlande / Teaching and learning linguistic and non-linguistic subjects in primary education : analysing teachers and students’ joint action in primary bilingual classes in Thailand

Kewara, Punwalai 04 December 2012 (has links)
Our research aims to study and characterize didactic situations implemented to teach and learn English, as a foreign language, and Science, a non-linguistic subject, in primary classes in a bilingual stream in Thailand. To do so, we study the joint action of three English native speaker teachers and a Thai teacher and their Grade 6 students. The analyses of the situations described in our research are based on transcriptions extracted from six teaching units or thirty-five sessions filmed in the two observed classes. To conduct our analyses, we use a theoretical framework that brings together notionscoming from the Joint Action Theory in Didactics and the didactics of foreign languages. In our empirical study, we examine the teaching units implemented by the four teachers in two classes at different levels of analyses. For our fine-grained study, we have chosen similar didactic situations from the two classes so as to bring to light the differences and similarities in these situations. In our analyses, we study more particularly how the learning games and the contract-milieu equilibration are implemented in order to develop the students’ knowledge. Then, we describe the commonalities and differences between the four teachers. At the end of our thesis, we make propositions for language teaching and the teaching of other subjects through English and for the training of both Thai and foreign teachers

Situations d'apprentissage et activités de conception en baccalauréat technologique "Design et Arts appliqués" : représentations et instruments / Learning situations and design activities in French design and applied arts curriculum : representations and instruments

Montiès-Farsy, Sophie 04 December 2018 (has links)
The secondary school leaving certificate in Science and Technology: Design and Applied Arts prepares pupils to integrate postsecondary design programmes. The purpose of this study was to investigate how design activity is taught in secondary school. In an attempt to highlight the impact of the environment on the learning activity, the theoretical framework questions the relationship between activity, instrument, environment, task and skills, design activity. The study favoured an exploratory analysis based on the observation of real situations in an unambiguous and operational way. The scope of the study was limited to the certification exam “Project in D and AA”. The research design was empirical and based on (1) a priori analysis of the task prescribed by the institution and redefined by teachers belonging to three different high schools, and (2) an analysis of the activity of a sample of their pupils. Observation tools were based on the abstention from direct observation. The activities were viewed: through interviews conducted with teachers; through interviews conducted with pupils on the tasks they have actually accomplished; through the signs produced by teachers and pupils. The results show that the learning activity is instrumented to a greater extent by the different representations teachers have of the prescribed reference situation than by their representation of a prescribed state of design skills. In addition, although the pupil’s activity was motivated by the obtention of a school leaving certificate and not by the design of artefacts, the pupil develops semiotic and material instruments specific to the activity of students who train to become designers.

Étude comparative des représentations sociales de l’atome en milieu scolaire, en France et en Grèce, en corrélation avec sa transposition didactique de 1945 à 2014 / Comparative study of social représentations of the atom in schools, in France and Greece, correlated with its didactic transposition from 1945 to 2014

Grivopoulos, Konstantinos 10 December 2014 (has links)
Understanding the social representation of a scientific concept may be useful to the teaching and learning of it. The central question of this dissertation, that belongs to the didactic of the Sciences, is the social representation of the atom in French and Greek middle and high school students. Simultaneously, the didactic transposition of this concept in the general scientific education of these two countries is studied, from 1945 up to today. Our theoretical foundation with regard to social representations, is comprised of the theory of didactic situations, the anthropological theory of didactic, and the theory of the central core. We have collected, processed and combined data comprised of student interviews, drawings and answers to questionnaires to study the social representations. Furhermore, we have designed a technique of didactic analysis of Physics and Chemistry high school textbooks. The obtained results were compared with those of textual analysis using the Alceste software. The comparison of the representation systems revealed both similarities and differences, due to peculiarities in the didactic transposition, in the two educational systems. In both systems, it is the planetary model of the atom and the notion of the atomic nucleus that occupy the central core of the representation, while the notions of the electron and the proton are placed in the near periphery. On the other, the nuclear dimension of the atom is very important to the French, while to the Greeks it is elements related to the modelling of the atom that dominate. In conclusion, teaching may be hindered by the activation of a representation process giving rise to systems of representation.

Émergence et évolution des objets mathématiques en Situation Didactique de Recherche de Problème : le cas des pavages archimédiens du plan / Emergence and evolution of mathematical objects, during a “ Didactical Situation of a Problem Solving ” : the Case of Archimedean tilings of the plane

Front, Mathias 27 November 2015 (has links)
The study of the emergence of knowledges in teaching situations not finalized by a prefabricated and pre-thought knowledge requires an upheaval of point of view, epistemological as well as didactic. For the study of learning situations in which the problem is the essence, we develop a new historical approach and we rethink the tools for didactic analyzes. We propose, then, for a particular problem, exploration of Archimedean tilings of the plane, a historical inquiry centered on the activity of the scientist in the process of research and on the influence of the relationship with objects. From this perspective, the study of Johannes Kepler’s work in search of a world harmony is particularly instructive. We also propose, for the analysis of the emerging knowledge in teaching situations, to use tools related to semiotics, which allows to highlight the dynamic of evolution of mathematical objects. We can finally conclude on the opportunity to build and implement “Didactic Situations of Problem Solving”, which ensure the commitment of the subject in the research, the emergence and development of mathematical objects, the genesis of knowledges. The study reinforces the necessity of a pragmatic approach of situations and the relevance of a different look at the knowledge at school

Duo d'artefacts numérique et matériel pour l'apprentissage de la géométrie au cycle 3 / Duo of digital and material artefacts dedicated to the learning of geometry at primary school

Voltolini, Anne 30 August 2017 (has links)
Our research project in didactics of mathematics is to study the use of digital technologies as a complementary environment to concrete manipulations. We define a duo of artefacts as the fruitful link between a digital artefact and a material one in such a way that this linking is an added value for the learning process. The instrumental approach of Rabardel allows us to establish the requirements for this link, each artefact enriching the other through the constructed instruments. A duo of artefacts sets off associated instrumental geneses. In order to base the conditions of the learning process, in the sense of Brousseau, a duo exists only when it is mobilized in a didactic situation. Our issue is to develop a duo of artifacts including the pair of compasses for the conceptualization of the triangle in the teaching of its geometric construction. The composition of the duo and its orchestration in a didactic situation are intended to bring out a new instrumental genesis of the compasses and, according to Duval's work, a 1D dimensional deconstruction of the triangle. Experiments in classes have enabled us to validate the hypothesis that the situation and the duo cause the development of a new pair of compasses instrument to rotate a segment. Balacheff's model of conceptions also allowed us to identify the evolution of pupils' conceptions of the triangle and the circle as the situation progressed, specifically the improvement of a 1D vision of the triangle as a closed broken line and a characterization of the circle as the trajectory of one end of a pivoted segment.
