Rozvržení pracovní doby / Scheduling the hours of work

The thesis is written in the field of labor law. Content is the dismantling of the individual provisions of the existing legislation relating to the scheduling of working hours laid down in the Act no. 262/2006 Coll., The Labour Code, as amended, and other related regulations of the Czech legal order. The work is divided into ten chapters, which focus on individual provisions relating to the regulation of working hours and provisions linked. Work includes historical development of legal regulation of working time, the definition of working time, analyzing provisions relating to individual species scheduling of working hours, breaks and rest periods, overtime, night work and availability. Further, a working time under specific working conditions for employees caring for a child or another individual, especially the attitude of employers towards complying workers' requests for shorter working hours. In the second half discusses the regulation of working time of employees working on the basis of agreements on work performed outside employment, employees are governed by special regulations, employees working offsite or overseas employers and posted workers. Presented thesis, which is based on the archival material, describes life and work of the prime politician at the turn of 19th and 20th century - JUDr. Bedřich Pacák. The aim of this thesis is introduction of his personality on the political, economic and cultural background. In seven chapters is described his childhood, studies at the high school in Jindřichův Hradec and at the Faculty of Law. Also his profession of advocate, that proceeded to public activity very fast. Pacák dedicated his own life to work for the Czech nation and its freedom. So did when he was on the post of minister or as the land's and empire's deputy or as the chairman of the Czech community of Sokol in Kutná Hora. Pacák was honoured and appreciated personality by his friends, colleagues and also by his political opponents, because of his political activity. Sídliště starší doby římské v Berouně - Plzeňském předměstí / Settlement of early Roman period in Beroun - Plzeňské předměstí

This thesis deals with the settlement archeology of the Roman period in Bohemia and summarizes the findings of the Beroun settlement in this period. The work is mainly focused on processing and evaluation of archaeological research at the site Beroun - Plzeňské Předměstí, which were carried out by P. Břicháček, P. Charvát and V. Matoušek in years 1979-1981. There were unearthed settlements from the early Roman period with above ground and sunken objects. The main attention was paid to the recessed huts. The ceramic material and chronologically sensitive (metal, bone and antler) items were assessed with quantitative and qualitative analysis. The work also includes a brief description of other objects and their mutual relationships. At the conclusion of the work there is presented the importance of the settlement for Beroun area in Roman period.

Štípaná kamenná industie v kontextu starší doby bronzové / Chipped stone industry in the context of the Early Bronze Age

This diploma thesis focuses on studies of chipped stone industry of the Early Bronze Age in Bohemia and deals with questions connected to its occurrence in settlement and burial sites. The first part of this study presents the results of artefact analysis. The anylised complex of artefacts consists of 108 items and originates in following localities: Kolín - ringroad, Pátek near Poděbrady, Polepy near Kolín, Velké Přílepy a Vliněves. The analysis included the typological and morphological characteristics, used material and the links to their position in settlement objects and other finds. The second part of this diploma thesis summarizes present knowledge of prestigious artefacts such as silicite daggers, axes and arrowheads. Furthermore, it investigates the matter of contacts between Central Bohemia and Moravia on the basis of Moravian stone materials distribution. A catalogue of chipped stone industy from Central Bohemia is also included in this diploma thesis.

- Flexible forms of working hours This diploma thesis, in a broader context, represents the issue of flexible forms of working hours. Flexibility of working time is an important part of flexibility of labour law and also of flexibility of the whole labour market. Regulation and practical use of flexible forms of working hours are current issues and the aim of this thesis is to provide comprehensive but clear explanation of these issues. As theoretical bases, the thesis includes parts focused on selected legal principles, international and national regulation of working time and the concept of flexibility. The main part of the thesis is divided into three sections, of which the first one deals with the practical use of flexible forms of working hours, the second one presents particular forms of working hours which are regulated in the Labour Code and the third one is devoted to flexible forms of working time, regulation of which the Labour Code does not include.

Germánské spony starší doby římské v Čechách / Germanic Brooches of the Early Roman Period in Bohemia

This dissertation evaluates Germanic fibulae of the Early Roman Period found in the area of Bohemia. The catalogue mainly consists of ca. 740 already published brooches. For the purpose of this dissertation, many of them have been newly documented as well as some so far unpublished finds which are introduced in the appendix of the dissertation. The dissertation sums up our present knowledge of particular types and variations of fibulae and makes their chronology more accurate - based on various combinations of brooches occurring in graves. Alternatively it deals with their connection to certain sex, age and social status. The most common type of brooches is by far the group of the eye-brooches (ca. 300pcs). Regarding the dating, the author managed to cast doubt upon information about some of the brooches found in the literature. The analysis has proven a long survival of some types of fibulae. Title: Comparison of selected parameters when skiing and snowboarding. Objectives: The aim of this work is to compare pulse rate and functioning speed while skiing and snowboarding in the slalom track. Methods: Statistical indicators used to calculate BMI (body mass index), pulse rate measuring using the Polar brand sport tester, the stopwatches to time the functioning speed, statistical methods to calculate the arithmetic average. Results: According to the results the hypothesis H1 was confirmed, so the functioning speed while skiing will be shorter than while snowboarding in the slalom track. In second hypothesis H2, the fact that the volume of strain while snowboarding is higher than while skiing in the slalom track did not confirm. This thesis with the topic Working time in healthcare makes an effort to deal comprehensively with the particular issues of the working time institutes, their application in healthcare and it alternatively point to some defiency in legislation. The regulation of the working time is one of the most important working conditions especially for the workers due to the fact that they spend more than one third of their day at work. In case of the healtcare workers it's even more than one third of their day. In first chapters I pursued regulation of the working time from the view of the international law, in concrete from the view of the Conventions of International Labour Organization. I focused more on the European Union regulations, especially on the Working Time Directive, because due to this directive there is no longer the institute of the on-call duty at workplace in czech legislation. The Directive also allowed to legitimize further agreed overtime work for healthcare works. In the third chapter I focused on the regulation of the working time itself. I analyzed the characteristics and compared the current wording with the definition in the Labour Code from the 1965. Thesis is concerned with one of many regulations which affects cargo truck transport, so-called hours of service. It is restriction related to time of drivers' service. Truck transport means important part of economy as connection between companies or between company and final consumers. Aim of the work is compare regulations in European Union, Canada and USA together with their historical evolution. Differences in regulation are then explained in model transport relations. There are also analyzed individual interested groups which are influenced by these regulations. In final part of the work is looked about pro and con of existing restriction and what are the consequences of observance of the rules or even tightening up the rules.

Legal status of persons taking care of children in the labor market This dissertation deals with the legal status of persons taking care of children with respect to their participation in the labor market. The dissertation provides a comprehensive analysis of the legal status of these persons, focusing especially on the employees' work-life balance. The dissertation deals in particular with the issues of working conditions of pregnant women, breastfeeding employees and employed mothers in the period of nine months after childbirth, and employees taking care of a child. The dissertation analyses the legal regulations of individual labor law institutes in relation to person taking care of children such as part-time work. The dissertation analyses atypical employment relationships resulting from the need to care of a child. In addition to providing an analysis of the current legislative framework, the dissertation also deals with contemporary case law, in particular the judicial decisions concerning part-time work. The dissertation describes overlaps with other areas of law, i.e. social security law and tax law, and identifies new trends such as the development of childcare services, in particular for children under three years of age, and process getting shorter parental leave resulting from changes...
