Assim, esta pesquisa tem o objetivo de avaliar a efetividade da técnica Gerenciamento Dinâmico do Pulmão (Dynamic Buffer Management - DBM) como forma de preservar a disponibilidade de produtos destinados à entrega imediata em ambientes que adotem a solução de distribuição e reposição puxada da Teoria das Restrições. Para tanto, foram realizadas simulações no software ProModel utilizando dados estocásticos para o tempo de reposição e cenários com diferentes combinações de demanda. Esta, por sua vez, pode se comportar de duas formas: i) média sem tendência com dois níveis de coeficiente de variação e ii) média com tendência sazonal com dois níveis de intensidade. Dois algoritmos do DBM foram modelados segundo seus princípios constatados na literatura e combinados com parâmetros para ajuste dinâmico do estoque alvo. Os modelos foram avaliados por meio dos seguintes indicadores: fill rate, estoque médio no sistema e rotatividade por atendimento imediato da demanda. Os resultados indicam que para a demanda média sem tendência, desativar o DBM e manter um nível sensato de estoque alvo no sistema inibe ajustes indevidos e garante um bom desempenho do modelo. Contudo, para a demanda média com tendência sazonal, o DBM é altamente recomendado para assegurar a performance do sistema e ajustar os níveis de estoque conforme o padrão da demanda se altera. / Inventory management in supply chains has faced several problems, such as low turnover, high inventory investments, lost sales due to disruptions, and high obsolescence of stored products. Thus, this research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Dynamic Buffer Management (DBM) technique as a way of preserving the availability of products destined for immediate delivery in environments that adopt the distribution solution and pull replenishment of the Theory of Constraints (TOC). For that, simulations were performed in the ProModel software using stochastic data for the replenishment time and scenarios with different combinations of demand. This, in turn, can behave in two ways: i) average without trend with two levels of coefficient of variation and ii) average with seasonal trend with two levels of intensity. Two DBM algorithms were modeled according to their principles found in the literature and combined with parameters for dynamic adjustment of the target level. The models were evaluated through the following indicators: fill rate, average inventory in the system and turnover for immediate demand response. The results indicate that for the average demand without trend, disabling DBM and maintaining a sensible level of target level in the system inhibits undue adjustments and ensures good model performance. However, for average demand with seasonal trend, DBM is highly recommended to ensure system performance and adjust inventory levels as the demand pattern changes.

This diploma thesis is focused on the topic of electronic dance music and its genre classification within Czech music scene. The main part of the thesis defines seven primary genres of EDM from the historical and musical perspective, and consequently it divides them into the subgenres that the audience can meet on the Czech dance floors most frequently. Moreover, the thesis describes the origin, evolution as well as the current situation of Czech EDM. The thesis also concerns with the differences among the subgenres by means of the drum pattern notation and sonic samples.

Dando continuidade à pesquisa "A linguagem singular de Bill Stewart na bateria", que determinou alguns dos elementos definidores de sua performance no instrumento, o intuito desta dissertação é identificar se esses traços característicos possuem semelhança com a abordagem de outros bateristas, presentes nas décadas de 1950 e 1960, como Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams e Roy Haynes. A metodologia deste trabalho consiste na delimitação do repertório, na transcrição de músicas selecionadas, e o posterior estudo comparativo. As entrevistas com Stewart serviram para cruzar informações e confirmar algumas das conclusões dessa análise. A pesquisa nos permitiu organizar um material comparativo, o qual coloca em discussão se as semelhanças encontradas entre a abordagem de Stewart e a dos bateristas de décadas anteriores a ele caracterizam-se como suas possíveis influências musicais no instrumento / Abstract: This dissertation has as goal to investigate the musical performance of the American drummer Bill Stewart, detainer of a peculiar way of playing and one of the predominant jazz musicians nowadays. Continuing the research "The peculiar language of Bill Stewart on drumset", which determinate some defining elements of his performance on the instrument, this dissertation aims to identify whether those characteristic traits are similar to the approach of other drummers, which acted in the decades of 1950 and 1960, such as Max Roach, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams and Roy Haynes. The methodology utilized in this research consists of definition of the repertory, transcription of selected works, and a further comparative study. The interviews with Stewart served to cross check the information and to confirm some of the outputs of this analysis. This study allowed us to organize a comparative material that discuss if the similarities founded between the Stewart's approach and the musical language of the drummers of the preceding decades to him could be considered as his musical influences on drumset / Mestrado / Praticas Interpretativas / Mestre em Música

Studien är gjord på uppdrag av IKEA och undersöker metoder att barka björk i smådimensioner, med syfte att belysa parametrar som inverkar vid barkning i trumma och utvärdera vilka möjliga kända metoder som finns. Studien behandlar två försök, ett förförsök i form a hydraulisk barkning och ett försök för att belysa parametrar som inverkar vid barkning i trumma. Resultaten visar på att hydraulisk barkning fungerar men vidare studier krävs för utvärdering av kostnad, vattenåtgång och vidare utveckling. Trumbarkningsförsöket visar att basning i förberedande syfte effektiviserar barkningen, virket bör vara av liknande dimension och att barken avlägsnas lättare vid savningsperioden. Inga metoder speciellt anpassade för att barka björk av mindre dimensioner hittades under studien. / he study is made on assignment of IKEA and investigates methods of debarking birch in small dimensions, with the purpose of highlighting parameters that will affect debarking in a drum and evaluating possible known methods. Two attempts is made in the study, an attempt in the form of hydraulic debarking and an attempt to highlight parameters affecting drum debarking. The results show that hydraulic barking works but further studies are required to evaluate cost, water usage and machine development. The drum debarking experiment shows that steaming in preparatory purpose makes the process more effective, logs should be of similar size and the bark will be removed more easily during the sapping season. No methods specifically adapted to debark birch of smaller dimensions was found during the study.

The Master’s Recital recorded on the compact disc that accompanies this paper presents seven compositions. Five of them are my own, and two are my arrangements of compositions by musicians that I admire. The paper includes scores of the original compositions and arrangements, as well as program notes that offer historical background, summaries of the form, and observations on performance practice for each selection. My goal is to demonstrate to jazz devotees and to music lovers in general the capabilities of the steel pan instrument within a jazz combo setting. Each composition exploits the full range of challenges the percussionist faces in a jazz combo performance. I explore different stylistic approaches and musical concepts that enable a high level of improvised musical performance on an instrument that is relatively new to jazz.

In 1984, Eli Goldratt published his novel “The Goal – a process of ongoing improvement”. Constraints Management has since evolved into a field of study, still widely debated and written about today. Most companies soon realized that the principles of Constraints Management could no longer be ignored to stay competitive. The South African Breweries (now SABMiller plc) is the world's leading brewer in developing markets. The company has dominated the South African liquor market for years and is currently the second largest brewing company in the world, operating in Africa, China, Europe and the USA, yet even a company with this reputation can still be ignoring the basic principles of Constraints Management. This dissertation concentrates on the application of Constraints Management in a selected brewery in South Africa. The measures used in one of SAB’s most successful breweries will be tested against Constraints Management principles, illustrating how the practice of driving performance measures without focusing on the constraint can lead one away from the goal of the company. Rosslyn Brewery is a brewery driven by traditional brewing industry performance measures. The key drivers of the brewery have always been to increase factory efficiency and reduce costs. Rosslyn set the benchmark for packaging efficiency within SAB. The problem is that the packaging operation is not the constraint in the brewery. The throughput of the brewery is determined by the operation feeding into packaging, i.e. filtration. The end result is that even though the packaging lines have the best efficiency, they still have to stop and wait for beer to become available from filtration, resulting in downtime, frustration and eventually costly overtime and weekend work. The core conflict of the brewery is the trade-off between running all the resources as efficiently as possible, and thereby decreasing product cost, and running only the constraint as efficiently as possible, resulting in an increase in throughput. The Thinking Process was used to evaluate the conflict and a solution developed. The solution consists of the following: 1. The brewery has to adopt Constraints Management using the 5 step process of ongoing improvement. The capacity constraint has to be exploited and all other operations subordinated, to ensure that products are not produced for the sake of improving efficiency. 2. The operational measures of the brewery have to be changed from increasing factory efficiency and reducing R/hl to increasing throughput, decreasing inventory and decreasing operating expense. 3. The production schedule and raw material release for the whole plant need to be determined by filtration. This requires a change in the current advanced planning solution to incorporate the principles of Drum-Buffer-Rope. If the decision is made and actions taken, the brewery will be able to survive the next decade, even if there is a further decline in the market. If not, the focus will still be on reducing product cost, whilst improving the efficiency of all operations. Durante esse período de doze anos, Márcio Bahia teve uma intensa convivência com Hermeto e seu grupo ¿ formado por Jovino Santos, Carlos Malta, Itiberê Zwarg e Pernambuco ¿ numa intensa "jornada" de experimentações, ensaios, shows e estudos musicais. Essa espécie de "laboratório" musical foi chamada por Hermeto e pelos próprios integrantes do grupo de "Escola do Jabour" / Abstract: This work aims to investigate the musical performance of the musician Márcio Bahia Villa, focusing on the period from 1981 to 1993 when he joined the ensemble of the musician Hermeto Pascoal. We tried to identify the main features and peculiarities in his performances within the group by interviews, analysis of transcripts and excerpts of the five albums recorded by the group during this period. Márcio Bahia had an intense relationship over twelve years with Hermeto and his group ¿ formed by Jovino Santos, Carlos Malta, Itiberê Zwarg and Pernambuco ¿ in an intense "journey" of trials, rehearsals, shows and musical studies. This kind of musical "laboratory" was called by Hermeto and by the members of the group "School of Jabour" / Mestrado / Praticas Interpretativas / Mestre em Música

The main aim of this diploma thesis is to design rotary manipulator for manual welding of hoist drums for EXYZ storage machine. The rotary manipulator is designed for improving of the quality of welds, which have been made in the static bearing welding process of hoist drum. The first part is concerned on the critical research of welding manipulators, which could be founded on the market. In the next part, there are sketched possible construction designs of welding manipulator based on the market offer. The main part of the diploma thesis is own construction design, which is made on the base of suggested concept of construction design.

This master´s thesis is focused on design and manufacturing of prototype of central impression cylinder cleaning unit. This thesis contains explaining of basic principle of flexographic printing and preview of types of flexographic printing presses. There are explained patented cleaning units and main claims of every patented cleaning unit. In the next part of this thesis, there are some conceptual designs, from which was chosen the final design for manufacturing. In the next part of this work, there are detailly described each of the parts of cleaning unit. Prototype of the cleaning unit was manufactured and tested in the SOMA Engineering s.r.o. Lanškroun. Cleaning unit will simplify the work of operators and reduce time, needed to clean the central impression drum in comparison with manually cleaning.
