Neste trabalho, ? proposta uma abordagem de Desenvolvimento Dirigido a Modelos, mais especificamente, baseada em Arquitetura Dirigida a Modelos (MDA, do ingl?s Model-Driven Architecture), para o desenvolvimento de aplica??es para RSASF chamada de ArchWiSeN. Essa abordagem visa facilitar a tarefa dos desenvolvedores, atrav?s de: (i) uma linguagem espec?fica de dom?nio para RSASF; (ii) um processo para o desenvolvimento de aplica??es para RSASF; e (iii) uma infraestrutura de software composta de artefatos MDA (PIM, PSM e transforma??es) para dar suporte a este processo. A ArchWiSeN permite a contribui??o direta dos especialistas de dom?nio no desenvolvimento de aplica??es para RSASF, sem a necessidade de conhecimento espec?fico de programa??o nessas redes, e, ao mesmo tempo, permite que especialistas em redes foquem nas caracter?sticas da sua ?rea de especialidade sem a necessidade de conhecimento do dom?nio da aplica??o. Al?m disso, a ArchWiSeN tem como objetivo permitir que os desenvolvedores possam expressar e validar, em tempo de projeto, os requisitos funcionais e n?o funcionais (requisitos de desempenho) de suas aplica??es, incorporar servi?os oferecidos por plataformas de middleware para RSASF e promover o re?so dos artefatos de software desenvolvidos. Programming for such networks is very hard and requires developers to know the available sensor platforms specificities, increasing the learning curve for developing WSAN applications. In this work, an MDA (Model-Driven Architecture) approach for WSAN applications development called ArchWiSeN is proposed. The goal of such approach is to facilitate the development task by providing: (i) A WSAN domain-specific language, (ii) a methodology for WSAN application development; and (iii) an MDA infrastructure composed of several software artifacts (PIM, PSMs and transformations). ArchWiSeN allows the direct contribution of domain experts in the WSAN application development without the need of specialized knowledge on WSAN platforms and, at the same time, allows network experts to manage the application requirements without the need for specific knowledge of the application domain. Furthermore, this approach also aims to enable developers to express and validate functional and non-functional requirements of the application, incorporate services offered by WSAN middleware platforms and promote reuse of the developed software artifacts. In this sense, this Thesis proposes an approach that includes all WSAN development stages for current and emerging scenarios through the proposed MDA infrastructure. An evaluation of the proposal was performed by: (i) a proof of concept encompassing three different scenarios performed with the usage of the MDA infrastructure to describe the WSAN development process using the application engineering process, (ii) a controlled experiment to assess the use of the proposed approach compared to traditional method of WSAN application development, (iii) the analysis of ArchWiSeN support of middleware services to ensure that WSAN applications using such services can achieve their requirements ; and (iv) systematic analysis of ArchWiSeN in terms of desired characteristics for MDA tool when compared with other existing MDA tools for WSAN.

Domain Specific Test Language

Testing is an important part of software development. It ensures that the developed product is of high standard and quality. Tieto frequently develops large complex systems which require comprehensive testing. Testing employs manually designed test cases. According to recent development within software testing it has been shown that design of test cases can be simplified with domain specific test languages (DSTL).     The thesis project is a research and development study in the field of software testing and has been performed at Tieto office in Karlstad. The project concerns the development of a DSTL and a suitable development environment based on the Eclipse Platform. The project evaluates the development of a domain specific test language using the tools Eclipse JDT, developed by Eclipse Foundation, and Xtext, developed by itemis AG. The experiment was evaluated by its functionality and integrability.     The project has shown promise in using a domain specific test language with a suitable development environment. The result and evaluation have shown that the subject shows promise, but needs further development if it is to be adapted within Tieto´s organization.

In this paper we present the tool 'DockerConverter', an approach and a software to map a Docker configuration to various matured systems and also to reverse engineer any available Docker image in order to increase the confidence (or trust) into it. We show why a mapping approach is more promising than constructing a Domain Specific Language and why we chose a Docker image instead of the Dockerfile as the source model. Our overall goal is to enable Semantic Web research projects and especially Linked Data enterprise services to be better integrated into enterprise applications and companies.

Physically-Based Realizable Modeling and Network Synthesis of Subscriber Loops Utilized in DSL Technology

Performance analysis of Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) technologies, which are implemented on existing telephone subscriber loops, is of vital importance to DSL service providers. This type of analysis requires accurate prediction of the local loop structure and precise identification of the cable parameters. These cables are the main components of the loop and are typically comprised of multi-conductor twisted pair type currently being used on existing telephone subscriber loops. This system identification problem was investigated through the application of single port measurements, with preference being placed on measurements taken from the service provider's end of the loop under investigation. Once the cabling system has been identified, the performance analysis of the loop was obtained through simulation. Accurate modeling is an important aspect of any system identification solution; therefore, the modeling of the twisted pair cables was thoroughly investigated in this research. Early modeling attempts of twisted pair cabling systems for use with (DSL) technology has not been vigorously investigated due to the difficulty in obtaining wideband physical data necessary for the task as well as the limitations of simulators to accurately model the skin effects of the conductors. Models are developed in this research that produce a wideband representation of the twisted pair cables through the use of the data measured in high frequency spectra. The twisted-pair cable models were then applied to the system identification problem through a de-embedding type approach. The identification process accurately characterizes the sections of the subscriber loop closest to the measurements node, and these identified sections were then modeled and de-embedded from the system measurement in a layer removing, or "peeling", type process. After each identified section was de-embedded from the system measurement, the process was repeated until the entire system was identified. Upon completion of the system identification process, the resulting system model was simulated between the central office (CO) and resulting identified customer nodes for the evaluation of performance analysis. The performance analysis allows the providers to identify points where the DSL technology is feasible, and where so, the rates of the data transfer to the nodes that can be expected. / Ph. D.

O estudo do ruído impulsivo foi focado no desenvolvimento de um sistema digitalizador de sinais de linha telefônica possibilitando a medição real deste tipo de fenômeno. / The current work presents tests and laboratory experiments to measure crosstalk and impulsive noise in DSL systems, which are of great importance for the improvement and development of this technology. The crosstalk study was focused in a measurements campaign of short-length cables operating at extremely high frequencies. The results were used in the transmission rates calculation of DSL systems operating in this type of unexplored scenario. The impulsive noise study focused on the development of a telephone line digitizing system allowing real measurements of the noise.

Namenski jezik se može koristiti kao dokumentacija, ili kao specifikacija hendikepa za posebno napisan simulator vizuelnih hendikepa koji se može koristiti za potrebe testiranja. Kao pandan ovoj tehnologiji razvijen je novi mehanizam za evaluaciju vizuelizacija koji kroz inovacije u metodologiji i statistici omogućava da se merodavni zaključci izvedu iz relativno malih uzoraka podataka.</p> / <p>For purposes of visualization quality evaluation as part of the practice of<br />inclusive design, a domain specific language was developed such that it<br />describes visual handicaps through a formalism based on visual variables.<br />This domain specific language can be used as documentation or as a handicap<br />specification for a specially constructed visual handicap simulator usable for<br />testing. Alongside this technology, a novel mechanism for visualization<br />evalution was developed. Comparing NAL-NL1 and DSL v5 in Hearing Aids Fit to Children with Severe or Profound Hearing Loss: Goodness of Fit-to-Targets, Impacts on Predicted Loudness and Speech Intelligibility

Background: An important goal of providing amplification to children with hearing loss is to ensure that hearing aids are adjusted to match targets of prescriptive procedures as closely as possible. The Desired Sensation Level (DSL) v5 and the National Acoustic Laboratories’ prescription for nonlinear hearing aids, version 1 (NAL-NL1) procedures are widely used in fitting hearing aids to children. Little is known about hearing aid fitting outcomes for children with severe or profound hearing loss. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the prescribed and measured gain of hearing aids fit according to the NAL-NL1 and the DSL v5 procedure for children with moderately severe to profound hearing loss; and to examine the impact of choice of prescription on predicted speech intelligibility and loudness. Research Design: Participants were fit with Phonak Naida V SP hearing aids according to the NAL-NL1 and DSL v5 procedures. The Speech Intelligibility Index (SII) and estimated loudness were calculated using published models. Study Sample: The sample consisted of 16 children (30 ears) aged between 7 and 17 yr old. Data Collection and Analysis: The measured hearing aid gains were compared with the prescribed gains at 50 (low), 65 (medium), and 80 dB SPL (high) input levels. The goodness of fit-to-targets was quantified by calculating the average root-mean-square (RMS) error of the measured gain compared with prescriptive gain targets for 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 kHz. The significance of difference between prescriptions for hearing aid gains, SII, and loudness was examined by performing analyses of variance. Correlation analyses were used to examine the relationship between measures. Results: The DSL v5 prescribed significantly higher overall gain than the NAL-NL1 procedure for the same audiograms. For low and medium input levels, the hearing aids of all children fit with NAL-NL1 were within 5 dB RMS of prescribed targets, but 33% (10 ears) deviated from the DSL v5 targets by more than 5 dB RMS on average. For high input level, the hearing aid fittings of 60% and 43% of ears deviated by more than 5 dB RMS from targets of NAL-NL1 and DSL v5, respectively. Greater deviations from targets were associated with more severe hearing loss. On average, the SII was higher for DSL v5 than for NAL-NL1 at low input level. No significant difference in SII was found between prescriptions at medium or high input level, despite greater loudness for DSL v5 than for NAL-NL1. Conclusions: Although targets between 0.25 and 2 kHz were well matched for both prescriptions in commercial hearing aids, gain targets at 4 kHz were matched for NAL-NL1 only. Although the two prescriptions differ markedly in estimated loudness, they resulted in comparable predicted speech intelligibility for medium and high input levels.
