PSQS – Power Supply Quality Simulator

<p><p>Kitron had wishes to be able to test and measure how disturbance affects their vehicle electronic units before they have been verified by SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden in Borås. This work started with the writing of a demand specification together with Kitron for a product PSQS, Power Supply Quality Simulator, which can generate some test pulses according to a standard for electronic units to Volvos vehicles. A design proposal was developed with the help the demand specification and was verified with the help of simulations. All electric schematics was designed with the guide of the design proposal. The pulses realized in the works of this thesis are those which Kitron experienced that they have a need to test in their own premises and which are possible to generate with the means available. All work took place at Kitron in Jönköping, the restriction of the work has been the cost of components not to be to high as well as the finished product shall be easily managed. This thesis work resulted in a unit which is possible to produce a number of disturbances on the voltage feed to a unit under test. Some pulses have not been completely correct according to Volvos standard. There are large possibilities to further develop PSQS to a unit that follows Volvos standard and even other vehicle producer’s standards.</p></p>

Akcentuoti pasekmes iškylančias netinkamai elgiantis su atliekomis. Kūryboje panaudoti atliekų ekspresyvias formas, faktūrų įvairovę, turtingą koloritą. 2. Analizuoti moderniojo meno dailininkų kūrybą. 3. Surinkti vaizdinę medžiagą, nutapyti eskizus. 4. Nutapyti trijų darbų ciklą. Išvados Kiekvienam derėtų susipažinti su atliekų rūšiavimo svarba. Ne dažnas susimąstome, jog atitinkamai surūšiavus atliekas jas galima sėkmingai perdirbti dar keliems vartojimams, taip sumažinant aplinkos taršą, bei energijos išteklius. O iš meninės pusės įvairių atliekų gausa padiktavo puikią vaizdinę medžiagą. Iš ekspresionistų tapybos siekiau perimti nevaržomą emocijų bei jausmų raišką, sodrius spalvų koloritus, bei iškalbingus potėpius. Abstrakčioji dailė įtakojo sprendžiant kompozicijas, plastinės išraiškos priemonėmis. Abstraktusis ekspresionizmas įtakojo spontanišką saviraišką, per spalvą, dėmę bei potėpį. Surinkta gausi vaizdinė medžiaga sąlygojo formų bei spalvų derinius. Siekdama atrasti savąjį braižą tikslingai ir apgalvotai antiestetiniu ir estetiniu atžvilgiu dėliojau kompozicijas. To highlight the consequences faced by improper handling of waste. In creative work use expressive forms of waste, variety of textures, rich coloring. 2. To analyze the works of modern art artists. 3. To collect video material and to paint sketch. 4. To paint a cycle of three works. Findings: Everyone shoul be familiar with the importance of waste sorting. Not everyone think that the sorting of waste can be successfully processed for reuse, thereby reducing environmental pollution, and energy resources. From the artistic side, abundance of different types of waste, dictated the superb visual material. From the expressionist paintings I attempted to take over the unfettered expression of feelings and emotions, lush colors, color, and eloquent touch. Abstract art influenced by addressing the composition of plastic means of expression. Abstract expressionism led to spontaneous self-expression through color, stain, and stroke. Collected extensive visual material have led to forms and color combinations. Norai nuolat didėja. Žmonija juda į priekį. Kuo aukštesnis visuomenėspragyvenimo lygis, tuo daugiau buitinių atliekų. Jas tenka pašalinti drauge su milijonais tonų kitų susikaupusių, perdirbimui neparuoštų šiukšlių. Taip sąvartynai ir pilnėja. Drobėse vaizduojamos atliekos, prieš užverčiat jas žemėmis. Tai yra šių dienų aktuali problema. Masinis žmonių vartojimas po savęs palieka neišnaudotas galimybes. Kūriniai orientuoti į ateitį, išsiskiria drąsiais sprendimais, yra originalūs, todėl skatina naujas ir aktualias mintis. Ekologai ir žalieji jau senokai gąsdina žmoniją, kad Žemė vieną kartą “atsirūgs“ atliekomis darkančiomis gamtą, nuodijančiomis dirvožemį, upes ir jūras, tiesiai mums į veidą. Various fast acquisition means and accurate tracking algorithms could be realized, improved and validated on this platform, besides basic GPS receiver function.

Faktory ovlivňující šíření dubu letního na výsypce po těžbě uhlí / Factors affecting oak spreading on post mining heaps

The study was conducted on spoil heap Podkrušnohorská (50 ř 14'09 S, 12 ř 39'05 V) near Sokolov. Several factors that influence the establishment of oak were studied: the distance from the source of diaspors, type of habitat (succession vs alder reclamation), position of seedling on the wave and impact of animal grazing. Four alder restoration areas and three spontaneous succession areas have been mapped with GPS equipment, the occurence of mature oaks, which could serve as a source of acornsg was also mapped on the dump and in surroundings. Most seedlings (657) were found in the succession and only 98 in alder reclamation, and the occurence in succession was statistically significantly more frequent. The number of seedlings from sources diaspors decreased, the longest distance was over 1300 meters. For three habitats (spontaneous succession, alder reclamation, open space with grass vegetation (Calamagrostis epigeios)) were planted 12 oak seedlings in fence and 12 seedlings outsider of the fence. Annual growth rate and survival of oak were evaluated using two-way ANOVA. Results showed that the area has a significant effect on the growth of oaks. In alder reclamation and the open area had a high mortality of seedlings and small increase, the fence does not have significant influence on these areas....

Experimental and Computational Investigation of Thermal-Flow Characteristics of Gas Turbine Reverse-Flow Combustor

Reverse-flow combustors have been used in heavy land-based gas turbines for many decades. A sheath is typically installed to provide cooling at an expense of large pressure losses, through small jet impingement cooling and strong forced convention channel flow. With the modern advancement in metallurgy and thermal-barrier coating technologies, it may become possible to remove this sheath to recover the pressure losses without melting the combustor chamber. However, without the sheath, the flow inside the dump diffuser may exert nonuniform cooling on the combustion chamber. Therefore, the objective of this project is to investigate the flow pattern, pressure drop, and heat transfer in the dump-diffuser reverse-flow combustor with and without sheath to determine if the sheath could be removed. The investigation was conducted through both experimental and computational simulation. The results show that 3.3% pressure losses could be recovered and the highest wall temperature will increase 18% without the sheath.

O \'lixão\' da cidade de São Carlos foi instalado em uma voçoroca em terras do Sítio Santa Madalena onde, por aproximadamente 17 anos, foram depositados resíduos residencial, comercial, industrial e de serviço de saúde, sem a execução de medidas preventivas. O \'lixão\' está localizado em área de recarga do aqüífero Botucatu, principal aqüífero do Estado de São Paulo, e as margens do Córrego São José que faz parte da bacia do Ribeirão Feijão, principal fonte de abastecimento da cidade de São Carlos. Esta pesquisa faz parte de um projeto maior, que tem por objetivo o estudo completo da água subterrânea na região do \'lixão\' de São Carlos. Neste trabalho avaliou-se a contaminação das águas superficiais e subterrâneas adjacentes ao \'lixão\'. Foram realizados levantamentos planialtimétrico e geofísico, determinação das direções principais do fluxo e foi instalado uma rede com 15 poços de amostragem e monitoramento para avaliar a interferência dos líquidos percolados provenientes do \'lixão\' na água subterrânea. The subterranean and superficial water contamination adjacent to the \'dump\' were checked in this work. surveying and geophysical survey were realized, the determination of the principal courses of the flood and a net with 15 (fifteen) wells for sample and studies control at \'dump\' were constructed to evaluate the interference in the subterranean water. The results of the physics and chemistries analysis indicated pollution of the subterranean and superficial waters adjacent to the \'dump\' and in the subterranean water has watched a plume of contaminating agents going in the same course of the flood which is SW.

Many poor people are dumpsters a form of livelihood and this environment is that these guys can survive. In this context the present study aims to describe the profile of the community eco epidemiologic Municipal Dump Imperatriz-MA, as well as the socioeconomic profile of the city scavengers; discover the sanitation and health of the community that lives municipal landfill and verify for differences in health conditions, work and health among groups of workers subdivided as education, sexual characteristics and age. The study is exploratory in nature with a quantitative approach. It was developed at the municipal dump Imperatriz-MA, 45 the subjects scavengers that community of a population of 51 families. We observed 42.2% (19) females and 57.8% (26) male, 91.2% (41) to receive 0 <remuneration and 55.5% (25) claim to have been another source of income that 95.5% of those receiving help governement (43), who know the personal protective equipment are 71% (32) and are still unaware that 6.7% (3) municipal landfill workers. concerning the use of PPE 53.3% (24) reported using only boots, 17.8% (8) and only 4.5% (2) said to use boots, gloves and masks. Of the 45 respondents scavengers 62.1% (28) supposed they had suffered some accident drill cutting material. The results obtain from this research can be used to subsidize municipal public policies aimed at promoting decent work and life of this community. / Os lixões, além dos problemas sanitários com a proliferação de vetores de doenças, também constituem em sério problema social. Muitas pessoas carentes encontram nos lixões uma forma de subsistência e é desse ambiente que esses sujeitos conseguem sua sobrevivência. Nesse contexto a presente pesquisa se propõe a descrever o perfil ecoepidemiológico da comunidade do Lixão Municipal de Imperatriz-MA, bem como, o perfil socioeconômico dos catadores de lixo do município; identificar as condições de saneamento e de saúde que vive a comunidade do lixão municipal e verificar se há diferenças quanto às condições sanitárias, trabalho e saúde entre grupos de trabalhadores subdivididos quanto a escolaridade, gênero e idade. O estudo é de natureza exploratória com abordagem quantitativa. Foi desenvolvido no lixão municipal de Imperatiz-MA, tendo como sujeitos 45 catadores de lixo daquela comunidade de uma população de 51 famílias. Foi observado 42,2% (19) do gênero feminino e 57,8% (26) masculino,91,2% (41) recebem de 0 < 1salário e 55,5% (25) declaram ter outra fonte de renda sendo que desses 95,5% recebem bolsa família (43),Que conhecem os equipamentos de proteção individual são 71% (32) e ainda que desconhece são 6,7% (3) trabalhadores do lixão municipal.Quanto ao uso dos EPIs 53,3% (24) disseram usar apenas botas, 17,8% (8) e apenas 4,5% (2) disseram fazer uso de botas, luvas e máscaras. Dos 45 catadores entrevistados 62,1% (28) disseram já ter sofrido algum acidente com material perfuro cortante.Os resultados obtidos com essa pesquisa podem ser utilizados para subsidiar políticas públicas municipais com o intuito de favorecer condições dignas de trabalho e vida dessa comunidade.

Development of a conceptual model for ash dump system using hydraulic and tracer test techniques

<p>Coal provides for 77% of South Africa&rsquo / s primary energy needs and is therefore a major resource that supports the socio-economic needs of South African citizens. Power stations are the major consumers of coal in South Africa and produces electricity from burned coal. The burning of coal produces a large volume of ash that is disposed in the form of ash dump systems. The ash&nbsp / dump system is treated with high salinity process water from the power station for dust suppression. The process water contains salts due to evaporation processes from the recirculation&nbsp / &nbsp / of&nbsp / water in the cooling water system. Various studies to evaluate the sustainability of the ash dump system as a sustainable salt sink were therefore conducted. This study aimed to develop a conceptual model for the ash dump system by evaluating the movement of the process water trough the ash dump and the impacts it might have on the underlying weathered dolerite aquifer. This was achieved by evaluating the hydraulic and transport properties of the ash dump system. An initial site conceptual model was first established prior to the application of the hydraulic&nbsp / and transport methods. The initial conceptual model was based on the literature, previous reports and an initial site walk over. Known and tested hydraulic and transport methods were applied&nbsp / n bo.th field and laboratory scale for the saturated part of the ash dump system. The laboratory experiments comprised of column and core experiments. These methods assisted in&nbsp / parameter estimation of hydraulic and transport properties and also assisted in the planning of the field experiments. The field experiments were conducted in the form of slug tests, tracer&nbsp / dilution and natural gradient divergent tracer test experiments. The combined laboratory and field experiments provided statistically significant values that were then used as inputs into the&nbsp / conceptual model. Field experiments were also applied to a surrogate aquifer that represented the underlying shallow weathered dolerite aquifer of the ash dump system. The components of&nbsp / the updated conceptual model identified and investigated include the physical environment, the calculated hydraulic and transport properties.The ash dump can be conceptualized as a 20 to&nbsp / &nbsp / 30 meter high heap of consolidated clay size ash&nbsp / particles built on top of an underlying shallow weathered dolerite aquifer. The ash dup is directly connected to the underlying weathered&nbsp / dolerite aquifer. The saline water within the saturated zone has the ability to move through the ash dump system with hydraulic conductivities ranging between 10-1-10- 2 m/day, with flow&nbsp / velocities of 7-8m/day and effective porosities of 1%-2%. The hydraulic properties of the ash dump are, amongst others, controlled by the ash geology, contact time of the process water with the&nbsp / sh and show a significant reduction in hydraulic conductivity over time, before reaching a steady state. The transport properties are controlled by advection and spreading in available&nbsp / pathways. Results for the surrogate underlying fractured rock aquifer show flow velocities of 31m/day and an effective porosity of 1%.This suggests that the underlying weathered dolerite&nbsp / aquifer is vulnerable to process water contamination from the ash dump system. The study illustrates the importance of a site conceptual model before the application of investigative&nbsp / methods. Hence having a site conceptual model provides an excellent platform for hydraulic and transport estimation. The development of a site conceptual model enhanced the&nbsp / understanding of flow and transport movement of the processed&nbsp / water trough the ash dump, it also assisted as a beneficial tool to enhance ash dump management.</p>
