No. of bitstreams: 1 BarbaraBianca.pdf: 786589 bytes, checksum: 5313085ac6f29723bba90466fafb0856 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2009-08-14 / This study talks about the critic formation of the educator in the context of national curricular reformulations, having as aims: analyze the critical formation of the educator in the context of teaching subjects reformulations; analyze the National Curricular Directives for Elementary Education, the National Curricular Directives for Pedagogy Course and the Pedagogic Project of a course, which expresses the critic formation in the teaching graduation; know the process of elaboration of the Pedagogical Project of the course and the main changes carried out as well as investigate the comprehension of teachers and coordinators about the critic formation of the educator. This research is part of a wider study project sponsored by CNPq entitled “Learning of the Teaching Competence in Licentiates in the context of changes in the Teaching Courses”, which is done by the program of Post-Graduation in Education – Mastership, from the State University of Ponta Grossa. The methodological approach of the research is qualitative, whose procedures of information collection are based on the documental researches and on semi-structured interviews with the ones responsible for the formation of the chosen course. The collected data was taken to analysis and confronted with the theorical referentials of the Critic Pedagogy, from the contributions of Giroux, Contreras and Freire. We obtained nine analysis units: the relation theory and practice; the research as essential element in the teachers´ graduation; the speeding of PPC elaboration; the discontinuity of participation of the professors; the non-definition of the course identity and the curricular structure; the absence of schools in the PPC elaboration; the critic formation and its different conceptions; a more articulated course; the institutional conditions. Summing up the analyzed information, we confirmed the necessity of thinking about the critic formation of the educator being desired by the collective educators and based on emancipator perspectives, which enable reading of the world and some reading of the school to the educator.

Sistematização do processo participativo de diagnóstico socioambiental: a experiência do CESCAR (Coletivo Educador de São Carlos, Araraquara, Jaboticabal e região - SP) / Systematization of the participative process of socioenvironmental diagnose: the CESCAR experience (Educator Collective of São Carlos, Araraquara, Jaboticabal and surroundings - SP)

Lima, Tatiana Terasin de 03 October 2008 (has links)
The initial idea of this research was to follow the construction of the socio-environmental diagnose of the Educator Collective of São Carlos, Araraquara, Jaboticabal and Surroundings - CESCAR, preparing and publishing the results amongst the 80 participating on the project Making the Utopia Viable - (FNMA edict 05/2005), verifying if the material gave was used as an assistance in order to think and execute their activities when interacting educationally in the communities involved. As a participating researcher of the Collective I can affirm that the process of educator and environment educators formation would follow the guide lines and methodology of research and participative action or as we can name it: people that learn by participating, although a very intense method, it had significant differences of involvement and participation, fact that led this study through different paths. We searched in the Systematization of Experiences, a methodology derived from popular education, elements to reflect about our practices, allowing us to contribute in this way to the strengthening of a Critical and Transformer Environmental Education. The systematization accomplished had as main theme the performance of the group that worked with the socio-environmental diagnoses. The partnership of 38 institutions of 10 counties for the formation of 80 educators propelled the structuring of study groups that before different demands of the Collective get together regularly to define guidelines for the implementation of action, activities and projects of the CESCAR, fact that necessarily depends on the participation and involvement of its collaborators. As in many other experiments unexpected things happen and the construction of the CESCAR\'s socio-environmental diagnose and the idea of having the material ready for use beforehand became inviable. In order to maximize the efforts the two study groups were merged in to one, and even with its actuation with the formative process, proposing and executing activities that aggregated elements for the diagnose, this group left aside its initial goals. Some members of these group were lost in the process due to the fact of low time availability or by having other priorities for their actuation with the Collective or even so by simple abandonment. This situation was dealt with positivity, considering the experience gained, even if different than what was first expected, can contribute to the construction of new knowledge strengthening not only the Collective but also the different processes speeded by the National Program For Environmental Educators Formation.

No. of bitstreams: 1 JulianaRCL.pdf: 361497 bytes, checksum: bcb8caa06e2f1ee4d99944ec1971c278 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2005-08-07 / Coordena??o de Aperfei?oamento de Pessoal de N?vel Superior / The move to include students with special needs (NEE) in the schools presents a paradigm that raises continual discussion about how to implement this proposal. Considering that learning is built from the weaving of socially constructed knowledge and the field of knowledge concerning subjectivity, this research explores the difficulties that occur with the later in the process of inclusion in the schools. Admittedly, the promise implicit in the school does not guarantee that the student learn, but the envisioning of this learning, when the student s educator discredits him, is such that the person is then not taken on as an actual student, being excluded from the transmission of knowledge, even within the school. The project implemented at the Instituto Educacional Casa Escola IECE, for the last three years, shows us that the possibility and sustainability of this envisioning is intimately linked to the subjectivity of the educator, as well as how one relates to the institutional culture. We question then, how this perspective is formed in the educator this perspective capable of denying the offer of a place as student, allowing him to advance while learning. With this in mind, we explore the paradoxical elements present in the paradigm of inclusion, as well as analyzing theoretically, through the body of conceptual psychoanalysis, the process of subjective constitution. We intend to bring to light how this process coincides with the construction of the educator s perspective of exemption from teaching the special needs students. We question, through the formative functions of subjective structuring (The Mirror Stage and the Oedipus Complex), how to form a perspective capable of promoting inclusion of special needs students in educators. Finally, we show how it is possible to bring to light, with the concepts of the I ideal and the ideal I, the subjective difficulties in the practicing instructor / A inclus?o escolar de alunos com necessidades educativas especiais (NEE) coloca-nos diante de uma pr?xis que reivindica discuss?es constantes a respeito de como efetivar esta proposta.

Leandro Pfeifer 06 December 2016 (has links)
Immersed in the universe of the popular cultures of the provincial (\"caipira\") cultural area and aware of the sensitivity of this subject and of the means to transmit it in formal and informal education spaces, a group of artists focused on research and experiences that dialogue with popular culture manifestations in the Southeastern region of Brazil. After this immersion, the group proposed the project Echoes of Paulistânia, a clipping of sonorities and central historical landmarks of the cultural background of a region that many authors call Paulistânia. This proposal obtained two approvals in São Paulo state level public notices, and the group intensified the research involving artists and teachers, especially musicians with significant experience in acting on the issue, to assist in the design of musical arrangements and storytelling in order to register all the material on CD, which is titled with the project name. Thereby, to disseminate this proposal, they promote musical performances and popular culture experiences, which reveal a highly fertile field of action that dialogues with educational demands. Thus, the project has two long term action focuses that raise possibilities of analysis and argumentation for this research: an educator training program, in Franco da Rocha/SP, in the More Education (\"Mais Educação\") Program; and the work with children and young people in the OCA Project (Oficinas Culturais Anchieta, Cultural Workshops Anchieta), in Embu das Artes/SP. For this dissertation, we emphasize the reflection on the possible contributions promoted by the experiences with popular cultures of the provincial (\"caipira\") cultural area in the aforementioned educational spaces as well as on the possible training paths for carrying out the proposed musical education work. Also, our aim is to detect the merits and difficulties of the proposal, taking into account probable links of the content with references to the cultural background of the target audience. For each manifestation of popular culture addressed in training, we will conduct an experience report supported by theoretical basis, also remarking on the groups, artists, communities and institutions that served as a reference for the work.

To Foster a Culture of Curiosity: A Hermeneutic Study of the Experienced Nurse Educator and Student Intellectual Curiosity in the Online Learning Environment

Russell, Bedelia H 01 August 2016 (has links)
Skills of inquiry are essential outcomes from a baccalaureate nursing education. Students who demonstrate intellectual curiosity can develop effective skills of inquiry. Nurse educators must place emphasis on teaching and learning strategies which engage student intellectual curiosity. However, the concept of intellectual curiosity is not well-studied across multiple contexts of teaching and learning environments within nursing education. In addition, there is little known about the experienced nurse educator and the meaning of student intellectual curiosity across multiple teaching and learning environments. With the increased emphasis on online teaching and learning in nursing education as a solution for expanding student access and capacity, the concept of intellectual curiosity within the context of online learning needs further exploration. Under the assumptions of philosopher Max van Manen (1990, 1997) and Martin Heidegger (1962), the purpose of this qualitative, hermeneutic phenomenological study was to understand the lived experience of baccalaureate nursing student intellectual curiosity for the experienced nurse educator teaching within the online learning environment. The research question was: What does intellectual curiosity mean to experienced nurse educators teaching in the online environment? A total of eight participants from three different institutions of higher education in the southeastern United States were interviewed through a socratic approach. Diekelmann, Allen, and Tanner’s Steps for Data Analysis (1989) are utilized for data analysis. Three constitutive patterns and seven relational themes emerged through the data analysis process. Ontological considerations of findings, implications for nursing education, and future research investigations are identified.

PHYSICAL EDUCATOR PERCEPTIONS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: A PHENOMENOLOGICAL STUDY

Moore, Eric T. 01 January 2018 (has links)
The objective of this study was to explore the perceptions physical educators had of a phenomenon: professional development (PD). Specifically, the study sought to understand the following question: how do physical educators perceive PD? Said in the spirit of phenomenological research, this study aimed to explore the lived experience of PD from the perspective of elementary physical education teachers. Subsequent research questions included: (a) How do physical educators perceive PD in relation to their physical education program’s role in public health?; (b) What perceptions, including potential barriers and facilitators, do physical educators have of PD?; and (c) In what ways do physical educators use PD to improve upon both teaching practices and student learning? Participants included ten elementary physical education teachers employed in the same county in the Southeast United States. A lengthy, open-ended interview between the researcher and all ten participants was the only source of data. Data were analyzed using a phenomenological approach, more specifically Hycner’s phenomenological five-step data explication process. The data explication process revealed four common themes as well as a variety of sub-themes across all participants. The four themes were analyzed to gain a true understanding of the lived experiences of physical educators’ PD. Those themes were: (a) PD for Professional Growth – A search for meaning; (b) Accessibility, (c) I Matter!, and (d) Relationships. Overall the study highlights the integral and often-personal role PD has in the lives of the study’s participants. The insights from this study may inform education policy makers, school districts, school administrators, and designers of educator PD to improve the overall PD experience of practicing educators.

Pracovní zátěž učitelů a její zvládání v kontextu genderových specifik vyučujících / The workload of teachers and its management in the context of the teacher's gender specifics

VANČURA, Jakub January 2019 (has links)
Firstly, the theoretical framework of this thesis presents definitions of terms that will be needed further on in the thesis. Primarily, there are definitions of stress, teaching profession and gender. The theoretical part of the thesis also serves as an overview of existing knowledge about the occupational stress of teachers. Lastly, I will try to elucidate the problems associated with measuring and interpreting selected studies on the occupational stress of teachers. The practical part of the thesis states three research problems. The first one explores the connection between the teacher's biological sex and the degree of occupational burnout, the second research problem examines the connection between the personality type of the teacher and the degree of occupational burnout and the last one puts the teacher's workload in the context of an inclusive environment. In principle, it has been established that individual mediators have no significant influence on the perceived workload of the teacher.

Pedagogical Methods Used by Probationary Elementary Teachers

Scarrow, Ronda 01 January 2017 (has links)
Heeding current best practice, many teachers prioritize student-centered instruction as the most effective pedagogy to achieve student learning. However, preservice teachers at a small, southeastern U.S. university have expressed reservations in executing student-centered instructional methods when they become lesson facilitators. The purpose of this qualitative study was to determine whether probational elementary teachers have the knowledge and skill set to execute student-centered instruction and identify the characteristics of this method based on their preservice experiences. The conceptual framework consisted of constructivist, humanism, and social learning, theories . The four research questions focused on participants' understanding of student-centered and teacher-centered pedagogical methods, whether or not their understandings changed in practice, and what factors influenced those changes. Purposeful sampling provided 5 probationary elementary teachers who had graduated from the same university. Data included 3 semistructured interviews, 2 classroom observations, and a review of instructional materials. Data were inductively coded and analyzed throughout the collection process. Findings revealed that each participant practiced and could theoretically identify the characteristics of both student-centered and teacher-centered methods; however, they could not identify these characteristics consistently in their own practices. Findings indicated that preservice teachers needed more exposure to student-centered pedagogy. Teachers who develop proficiency with student-centered pedagogy may be better able to empower students to solve problems, make decisions, advocate, and negotiate relationships with others. These characteristics are the foundation for active citizenship making positive social change possible.
