Glasmakarna Strömberg : En kartläggning av Edvard och Gerda Strömberg och Strömbergshyttan

Andersson, Agnes January 2024 (has links)
This essay introduces and explores the concept of “popular building preservation” in books and magazines, with the purpose to define patterns and characteristics within popular literature about building preservation. The study is based on common characteristics in popular history, to see if these characteristics can be applied on the popular literature regarding building preservation. The material and the characteristics are further discussed in relation to the philosophical ideas of “thought styles” and “thought collectives”, presented by the philosopher Ludwik Fleck. The study shows that popular building preservation embraces four main themes: built heritage, construction, aesthetics and lifestyle. The field is shown to be fundamentally commercial and its main focus is personal experience and emotion. The subject is further shown to be educational and entertaining at the same time. The study indicates that there could be a possibility for popular building preservation to increase the overall interest for built heritage, but that there also is a tendency for repeating themes and information. The magazines generally had more in common with the identified characteristics of popular history than the books.

Vnitropolitické souvislosti Hodžova plánu / The responses in domestic politics to Hodza Plan 1935-1936

Váňa, Daniel January 2008 (has links)
Abstract The thesis is about the reaction of Czechoslovak political scene to Milan Hodža's Danubian plan. Milan Hodža was Slovak Agrarian and economist who introduced his plan in the second half of 1935 at the time when he was Prime minister of Czechoslovakia. Author emerged from broader considerations of Czech and Czechoslovak ideas about economic and political developments in Central Europe, according to Palacký "space between Germany and Russia." In this context author accepts Palackys beliefs about the indispensability of the Danubian Hapsburg Empire as the counter imperialist expansion's bumper of both the continental powers and efforts of political parties Mladočeši and Staročeši who tried to reform and maintain the country. He also describes the interwar projects of Czechoslovak sovereign foreign policy, where Czechoslovaks tried to take on an inspirational leadership role of Central European economic and political cooperation which was based on Little Entente. Author of this thesis thinks that Hodža's Plan is just one of these projects. And as all the previous projects Hodža's plan had no opportunity to be implemented in the new internationally-political and internationally-economic context. Had Milan Hodža prepared his plan for economic and potentially political cooperation between Danube region countries from the national economy point of view? Did he start the wider discussion about the possibility of Danube region cooperation in Czechoslovakia? These are the basic questions that the author asks and he answers them in the last chapter of his work: Milan Hodža never made any concrete national economic statement for his plan. His attempt for the realization had never gone out of the diplomatic detection. Likewise he did not evoke any specific reaction of Czechoslovak political parties not even in party periodicals.

Edvard Beneš: zahraniční politika druhého československého prezidenta a její vývoj v letech 1938-1945 / Edvard Beneš: foreign policy of the second Czechoslovak President and its development in 1938-1945

Oraiqat, Jakub January 2019 (has links)
In this master's thesis I am researching the foreign policy of Edvard Beneš in 1938- 1945. Foreign policy of Czechoslovakia is closely linked to Beneš as he led it continuously since 1918 - first as a minister of foreign affairs and after 1935 as president. Beneš did reassess his foreign policy after the Munich Agreement and Czechoslovakia emerged from the World War II tightly connected to the Soviet Union without any western counterbalance. This shift in foreign policy subsequently led to transformation of Czechoslovakia into Soviet satellite which is frequent subject to criticism of Edvard Beneš. The goal of this thesis is to analyse the development of the second Czechoslovak President's foreign policy in 1938-1945 and to define the causes of the shift in the foreign policy of Czechoslovakia. I will be focusing mainly on the backgrounds of determining the foreign policy since Edvard Beneš' statements depended mainly on the audience. I want to accomplish that based on research of memoirs and many more documents. I will confront my interpretations of the primary sources with views from the secondary sources. One of the goals of this thesis is also to find out if it's possible to draw new and valuable conclusions by researching available primary sources.

Pravda vítězí 1938 protičeskoslovenské vysílání vídeňského rozhlasu / The Truth Will Win 1938 anti-Czechoslovak broadcast of Vienna radio

Cvachovcová, Klára January 2016 (has links)
This thesis concentrates on 1938 radio broadcast Pravda vítězí (The Truth Will Win), broadcasted from Vienna in both Czech and Slovak languages in the two months preceding and following the signing of the Munich agreement. Its theoretical part follows the genesis of the two broadcasts, the personalities involved and also the connection between Pravda vítězí and Vlajka, the infamous Czech fascist movement. In the practical part, Nazi propaganda themes are being analyzed in both broadcasts during October 1938. Main focus is on the campaigns against president Beneš, against freemasonry and bolshevism, pro-German campaign and antisemitism. In the Slovak language broadcast, anti-Czech campaign was a significant part of the Nazi propaganda, along with the support of Slovak separatism. Comparison of the ideological focus and goals of both broadcasts is supported by numerous quotations. In the final part, the thesis offers a brief look at the reactions to the broadcasts. Also, it attempts to evaluate the broadcasts' possible effects on both Czech and Slovak audience in the light of its primary goal - the disintegration of Czechoslovakia.

In the place of the former German House, destroyed after the the World war II is a rest of public space, which could be a part of the city sustainability concept. The project let's the rest of the historcial garden there like a countryard between two houses of the new Sustainable Development Centre.
