No. of bitstreams: 1 Eduardo Khater.pdf: 2528931 bytes, checksum: 764fd4049e3319adcb8804018b7de668 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-02-25 / A major challenge in human relationships refers to the issue of immediacy, production and uninterrupted flow of information and transformations.. Regarding this dynamic, teenagers have shown accelerated ways of being and existing, in order to cope with each other, family and the world changes . The quality of the adaptation of a teenager can be instrumental facing everyday situations. The possibility of assessing the effectiveness of adaptation achieved by adolescents may be valuable in psychological care, in that it provides a general framework of personality functioning and its resources to meet the challenges and obstacles of life . The proposal for a theory of adaptation from which the quality of the adaptation of the subject is evaluated in four areas of personality (affective- relational, productivity, sociocultural and organic) gave form to a labeled Operational Adaptive Diagnostic Scale (EDAO) scale, based on material from the clinical interview, and that was proven to be accurate and valid . In professional practice and in research settings, it is not always possible to conduct clinical interviews . A self-report version (EDAO -AR) has been developed to assess adults attending community clinics . However, adolescents face specific situations, not always covered by the scale items. The present study aimed to adapt the Operational Adaptive Diagnostic Scale (EDAO -AR) for adolescents and obtain evidence of validity and accuracy of this instrument. Items were developed consistent with the reality faced by adolescents and others adapted from EDAO-AR . The items were subjected to expert analysis and adolescents to make the first version of EDAO-AR-AD. This version was administered to 482 adolescents between 14 and 18 years of both sexes (271 M and 204 W). Were analyzed internal consistency, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The Affective Relational Scale got 20 items divided into three factors ("focus on others", "focus on relationships" and "focus on self" respectively) and Productivity with 17 items divided in two factors ("focus on self" and "focus on the situation"). Both scales has good internal consistency (?=0.72 and ?=0.83). Confirmatory factor analysis suggests new items to the third factor of Affective Relational Scale and verifies the model designed for the scale of Productivity. Foram realizadas an?lises da consist?ncia interna, an?lise fatorial explorat?ria e an?lise fatorial confirmat?ria.

Ss were 80 older persons (60 years old or more), of both genders (85% of women), who attend to third age groups. The majority (66,25%) was in the young-old group (60-69 years old), was either married (42,5%) or widowed (40%), having son (83,75%), catholic (75%), retired (61,25%), with many different professions, living in their own home (83,75%), alone (28,75%) or with husband / wife (27,5%), and of middle class (61,3%). EDAO-R is a clinical assessment, and then the reliability was taken from an interrater coefficient (Cohen s kappa) between two independent judges. The convergent validity was taken across assessment instruments, Ferrans and Power s Quality of Life Index (IQV) and the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-15), as external criterion. The results showed statistically significant interaction, taken through the Spearman s correlation test, between EDAO-R and age (rs= -0,261, p<0,01) and, through the Contingency test between EDAO-R and the person s occupational conditions (C=0,468, p<0,05). The sample tended to the best adaptive levels when assessment through EDAO-R, as to the best scores when assessment through IQV and GDS-15. The reliability for the adaptive efficacy was ? =0,503. When analyzed by EDAO-R s sectors, the Affective-Relational had k=0,551; Productivity had k=0,459; Organic had k=0,612 and the Social-Cultural had k=0,650, which are considered from fair to good. Statistically significant interactions were observed through Spearman s correlation test, between EDAO-R and IQV (rs=-0,449, p<0,01) and between EDAO-R and GDS-15 (rs=0,397, p<0,01). The results are discussed considering the socio-demographic profile of the sample, and indicate that EDAO-R is a reliable and valid measure of the adaptive efficacy when applied to the elderly people who attend to third age groups. Besides that, considering the used operational assessment categories, it s possible to obtain good agreement scores between independent judges.

Desenvolvimento de vers?o da Escala Diagn?stica Adaptativa para Atletas (EDAO-AR-A) / Development of a version of the Adaptive Diagnostic Scale for Athletes (EDAO-AR-A)

Peixoto, Evandro Morais 18 December 2012 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Evandro Morais Peixoto.pdf: 1971890 bytes, checksum: aa3ca46eafe7db3c33a633eabf6bea92 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-12-18 / Ever since the effective introduction of psychology professionals into sporting teams, they have encountered demands to evaluate the subjects involved in this area, particularly athletes. Accordingly, the need for these professionals to avail themselves of psychological evaluation tools that are capable of assisting them in this task, has become increasingly imperative. However, the lack of valid tools imposes significant limitations on these professionals. This lack is, at the same time, a challenge to psychology as well as a field of investigation that is still open to researchers in this area. In the 1970s, a scale was developed in Brazil by Ryad Simon, known as the Operational Adaptive Diagnostic Scale (EDAO), to evaluate adaptive efficiency. It is based on the concept that adaptive efficiency represents the ability of a subject to cope with life s trials and tribulations. Data on the subject are obtained by way of a clinical interview. The EDAO has already proved to be valid for different strata of the clinical and non-clinical population. A self-report version, to evaluate the effectiveness of adaptation of patients in community clinics, is under development and has been provisionally assigned the acronym EDAO-AR. This study proposes the development of a version of the EDAO-AR for the evaluation of athletes, as well as examining some of its proof of validity. The study has evolved in two stages: a) adaptation of the EDAO-AR and the construction of new items; analysis of content by (specialist) judges; and a semantic analysis of the items by athletes in different sports and with different levels of schooling; b) estimate of the internal consistency of the items, distributed by factor and for the scale as a whole, evaluated using Cronbach s alpha coefficient; the MSA and KMO indices were also evaluated and finally, the dimensionality of the scales was checked by means of exploratory factorial analysis. The sample comprised 219 athletes from the following categories of sport: Athletics, Basketball, Indoor Soccer, Swimming, Rugby and Volleyball, enrolled in their respective federations in the youth and adult categories. Assuming that the adaptation of the subjects is examined based on the suitability demonstrated in the Affection-Relation (AR) and Productivity (Pr) sectors, the items were built and evaluated separately, each set of items being regarded as a different tool. The final scale was made up of 41 items, 19 for the evaluation of the AR sector and 22 for the evaluation of Pr. The results show that the AR scale and the Pr scale both evaluate the quality of adaptation in accordance with three dimensions: Self-control, Interpersonal relationships and Coping. It is suggested that there is a need to develop new items for the AR scale in order to achieve higher indices of internal consistency for the overall scale, as well as for the respective factors. Finally, the need to use both the scales in the evaluation of the adaptive configuration of athletes should be stressed.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Sueli Aparecida Milare.pdf: 609056 bytes, checksum: 760416320e827018362a4558a8be2d18 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2008-02-13 / The professional profile currently expected from executives in business organizations is not the same of many years ago. Executive coaching is being used by organizations as a tool to help their executives to adapt more efficaciously to the new challenges imposed by globalization. The executive coaching program is based on the evaluation of the individual s performance and his or her difficult to deal with the organizations demands, to help the executives to deal with the development of new competences in reaching the organizational goals. The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of a program of executive coaching. The sample was constituted by ten executives, from different companies located in the metropolitan area of Campinas, whose directors spontaneously looked for the coaching program for their employees; the researcher in her private professional practice developed this coaching program. Evaluations were accomplished at the beginning and at end of the processes and changes were clinically evaluated. The following instruments were employed: EDAO - Operational Scale for Diagnosis of Adaptation, designed to be a measure of the adaptive efficacy; EEM Stage of Change Scale, measures the level of readiness for change: PPA - Personal Profile Analysis, designed to evaluate the individual s predominant or characteristic behavior and AAD Performance Self-Analysis designed to identify the efforts accomplished by the executive concerning the feedback he or she has received from his or her partners and/or chiefs. The last two instruments are usually employed in the researcher's professional practice. Results suggested that the coaching program is efficient in promoting the individual s development as well as new personal competences to reach the organizational goals. It was observed that some profiles added to the management conditions that the executive is submitted in his/her work environment, they can generate inappropriate performance. The study limits are the restricted sample and the researcher herself had accomplished the meetings. New studies can include the executive's follow up after the program, to verify his/her stability and the consolidation of the new developed behaviors.
