1	Att bli en del av samhället Mehrens, Anton, Svensson, Malin January 2017 (has links) This study involves ten unaccompanied refugees´ experiences of integration in to the swedish society. The main purpose of this study is to understand how the integration process has been for these ten unaccompanied refugees using qualitative methods. The unaccompanied refugees who are involved in this study have fled from Syria and Afghanistan and are eighteen to twenty-two years old. We analyse the respondents’ experiences and thoughts concerning their integration in Sweden. The theoretical framework and interpretation of integration that is used in this study is Alberto Diaz theory about seven different dimensions that measures what is required for a successful integration. In addition, this study applies social capital as a way of understanding why these refugees are in a certain stage and the opportunities and constraints that may exist of mobilizing resources. 2	Educational Challenges Faced By Unaccompanied Refugee Youths In Stockholm Berhane, Merhawi, Koroma, Samuel January 2015 (has links) This research paper explores the educational challenges faced by unaccompanied refugee youths in Stockholm. It focuses on the ongoing educational challenges that stem after separating from their families or other representatives in struggling to find a safe place; and adjust to a foreign country with minimal support. The research also examines what educational services that have been made available to these unaccompanied refugee youths. Furthermore, how successful they have been in adjusting into the Swedish educational system and achieving their educational goals. We have conducted a qualitative research method using semi-structured interviews to provide insightful findings into this research topic. The sample included ten unaccompanied refugee youths and three professionals that are experts in the area of unaccompanied refugee youths. The findings underscore that most of the unaccompanied refugee youths´ dropout from school before they are able to achieve their post- secondary education due to different challenges that influence their educational pursuit.
