Esta tese tem por objetivo apreender as relações do código verbal nas imagens das palavras, promovendo o resgate da palavra, a qual prescinde do código visual, e que descreve as sensações e percepções diferenciadas e múltiplas, mostradas em níveis graduados, do contextual ao estético; concomitantemente com os traços de modernidade, detectados nas obras selecionadas. O corpus de análise compõe-se de nove obras, dos autores brasileiros tem-se: Bartolomeu Campos de Queirós, Cecília Meireles, Clarice Lispector, Leo Cunha, Lygia Bojunga e Paulo Leminski; dos portugueses, Alice Vieira e José Saramago; e do africano, Mia Couto. Através da observação de algumas características comuns, e buscando-se apoio teórico nos autores que discorreram e discutiram criticamente a modernidade, foram captados tais traços comuns, elencados no primeiro capítulo. O segundo capítulo faz uma pequena incursão sobre os modos de processar a percepção. O terceiro apresenta as análises realizadas, categorizadas em três paradigmas, evidenciando-se os traços de modernidade, cuja presença aparece em menor ou maior grau. Desta forma, o verbal comprova a sua força e seu caráter essencial, que tanto sugere quanto mostra sensações e percepções na leitura da palavra imagética. / This thesis aims at understanding the relationship of verbal code, promoting the rescue of the word, which does without the visual code, the images of words that describe the sensations and differentiated and multiple perceptions, shown in graduated levels of contextual to the aesthetic; concomitantly with traces of modernity, detected in the selected works. The corpus analysis consists of nine works, of Brazilian authors: Bartolomeu Campos de Queirós, Cecília Meireles, Clarice Lispector, Leo Cunha, Lygia Bojunga e Paulo Leminski; of Portuguese Alice Vieira e José Saramago; and African, Mia Couto. By observing some common features, we sought theoretical support in authors who discoursed and critically discussed modernity; raised the features listed in the first chapter. The second chapter makes a small incursion into the ways of processing the perception. The third presents the analyzes, categorized in three paradigms; showing traces of modernity, whose presence appears to a lesser or greater degree. Thus, the verbal proves its strength and its essential character, which both suggests as shows sensations and perceptions in imagetic word reading.

Neste trabalho estudamos o livro Os Contos de Belazarte, de Mário de Andrade, publicado em 1934. Nosso primeiro passo foi mostrar o descompasso entre o narrador e o que ele narra. Para isso, iniciamos na origem do narrador (primeiro nas histórias de Pedro Malasartes, depois nas Crônicas de Malazarte, textos do próprio Mário publicados na revista América Brasileira), baseado na tradição oral de contar histórias. Depois, tornou-se importante trabalhar com a história de São Paulo, intrincada na narrativa. Isso foi possível com o estudo da imigração e da tradição italianas da cidade, bem como da modernização, que aparece com inúmeras incoerências e é forjada, principalmente, no trabalho das pessoas do subúrbio. Analisamos também o conjunto da obra: desde as escritas e reescritas do texto até o mapeamento das mudanças de uma edição para outra. Nosso objetivo foi analisar a intenção de conjunto e de organização dos contos, o posicionamento do narrador, as escolhas narrativas, a organização dos contos, enfim, o que faz do livro um projeto estético. Por último, comparamos o conto “Piá não sofre? Sofre.” com outros que seguiam o mesmo tema: o universo infantil. A ideia foi traçar uma linha comparativa entre soluções de representação da infância e de desenvolvimento de narradores de outros contos com a mesma temática de autores como Machado de Assis, Alcântara Machado, Guimarães Rosa e do próprio Mário de Andrade. / In this dissertation we study the book Os Contos de Belazarte, written by Mário de Andrade, published in 1934. Our first step was to show the gap between the narrator himself and what he narrates. Having that in mind, we start at the origin of the narrator (in the first stories of Pedro Malasartes and after that in the chronicles entitled Crônicas de Malazarte, Mario's own texts published in the magazine “América Brasileira”), based on the oral tradition of storytelling. Then it became important to explore the history of São Paulo, tangled in the narrative. We did it through the study of Italian immigration and tradition of the city, as well as the modernization which appears with numerous inconsistencies and is primarily forged in the work of the people from the suburbs. We also analyzed the whole work: from the written and rewritten text to mapping the changes from one edition to another. Our aim was to analyze the intention of both the tales’ set and organization, the position of the narrator, narrative choices, the organization of the stories, and at last, what makes the book an aesthetic project. Finally, we compare the tale "Piá não sofre? Sofre.” with others that had the same theme: the universe of childhood. The idea was to draw a comparative line between solutions to the representation of childhood and the development of other tales’ narrators from other texts which had the same theme by authors such as Machado de Assis, Alcântara Machado, Guimarães Rosa and Mário de Andrade.

Esta dissertação apresenta uma leitura da obra Palomar, 1983, pautada nas relações de similitude e assimetria com Lezioni americane: sei proposte per il prossimo millennio, 1988. A análise pretende demonstrar as relações entre narrativa e estética literária no último Calvino, assim como os procedimentos narrativos escolhidos para transformar concepções literárias em narrativas e vice-versa. Para tal, foi realizada a leitura das duas obras buscando os valores elencados por ele durante as conferências americanas na estrutura narrativa de Palomar. Num primeiro momento, será feita uma leitura panorâmica das duas obras. Em seguida, a partir dos conceitos calvinianos de exatidão, multiplicidade e visibilidade, serão analisadas as três áreas temáticas sobre as quais se estrutura Palomar. / This study presents a reading of the literary work entitled \"Palomar\", 1983, ruled by similitude and asymmetry relations with Lezioni americane: sei proposte per il prossimo millenio, 1988. The analysis intends to demonstrate the liaisons between narrative and literary aesthetic in the last Calvino, as well as the narrative proceedings which were chosen to turn literary conceptions into narratives and vice-versa. For this purpose, a reading of these two works will be done, aiming the search for values which were listed by him in American speeches in Palomar\'s narrative structure. At first glance, a panoramic reading of both works will be done. Thereafter, it will be analyzed three thematic areas in which Palomar is structured based on calvinian concepts of exactitude, multiplicity and visibility.

O objetivo do presente trabalho é realizar uma leitura crítica pelo viés materialista dialético do romance Jubiabá (1935), de Jorge Amado, obra abarcada no projeto de romance proletário empreendido pelo autor na década de 1930. Este trabalho propõe-se a analisar elementos que contribuam para a compreensão da estrutura interna dessa obra, bem como para a compreensão de sua posição no conjunto das ambições literárias e políticas de Amado no período. Interessa-me investigar as relações entre a forma literária de Jubiabá e os processos sociais referidos na obra, sobretudo no que diz respeito aos ideais da esquerda em relação às alterações históricas da organização do trabalho no Brasil, procurando observar por quais caminhos esse dado material é mimetizado na estrutura interna do romance. Acerca dessa estrutura interna, enredo, configuração do protagonista e perfil do narrador serão os elementos privilegiados pela análise, tanto individualmente quanto nas relações entre si. O ponto de chegada deste trabalho encontra-se na interpretação voltada para a dinâmica que se estabelece entre a obra e a tradição formativa social brasileira em suas especificidades enquanto nação periférica ao processo capitalista mundial, em suas aproximações simbólicas e materiais, literárias e extraliterárias, em relação ao centro do mundo civilizado ocidental. / This work aims to perform a critical reading of Jorge Amado’s novel Jubiabá (1935), a work which is part of the project of the proletarian novel undertaken, by the author in the 1930s. We seek an analytical description of the elements that may contribute to the understanding of the internal structure of the work, as well as its position in Amado's literary and political ambitions in them. Thus, we are interested in investigating the relationship between the literary form of Jubiabá and the social processes which the work refers to, especially with regard to the left-wing ideas in relation to the historical changes in the organization of labor in Brazil, seeking to understand how the aesthetic aspect of the novel clarifies the author’s position. With the aesthetic aspect in mind, we paid particular attention to the construction of the plot, the composition of the leading character, and the narrator’s profile in relation to the whole of the work's structure, as well as in relation to one another. This paper concludes with an interpretation of the dynamics established between the work and the Brazilian social formative tradition in its specificities as a nation on the periphery of world capitalism, in its symbolic, material, literary, and extra-literary proximities to the center of the civilized Western world.

Esta pesquisa visa analisar a estética do espaço e a estética literária empregadas na narrativa da obra Pôr-do-Sol, de Dazai Osamu, bem como resgatar a essência da cultura japonesa contemporânea de um Japão devastado pela Segunda Guerra Mundial, onde o autor expressa toda a sua sensibilidade poética. Este trabalho baseia-se na pesquisa biográfica de Dazai Osamu, com ênfase ao momento histórico que o autor testemunhou e onde realizou suas escritas, visando o levantamento da iconografia, pictografia e metonímia na linguagem de sua obra. Através deste estudo buscam-se os elementos que o enquadrem no gênero literário denominado Romance do Eu e as influências exercidas pelo Naturalismo europeu e movimentos sociais em sua carreira literária por meio da análise da hereditariedade, das influências do meio social no ambiente da obra e a estética literária empregada em sua técnica narrativa. O estudo desenvolvido demonstra as interferências ocidentais na Literatura Japonesa através da intertextualidade de obras japonesas e ocidentais, que dialogam entre si, e apresentam uma narrativa ao redor da estética do espaço na obra Pôr-do-Sol, retratando a essência humana, o irracional, as emoções, o onírico, as alegrias e desilusões inerentes a todos os seres humanos, principalmente na sociedade japonesa do período histórico do pós-guerra. / This research seeks analyze Dazai Osamu\'s spatial aesthetics and his literary style, which was used in his novel Setting Sun, besides to bring off essence of Japan Contemporary Culture, that was devastated in this country due to World War II. Another point of this study is the narrative aesthetics, where the writer expresses his poetic sensitiveness. This study is based on Dazai Osamu\'s autobiographic research, emphasizing a historical moment of Japan, which he witnessed and finished his writings despite of war; in his novel, Dazai aimed the language of: iconography survey, pictorial survey and metonymy language. This study will search for elements that fit in the literary genre named I Novel, as well as influences the writer suffered from European Naturalism and social movements in his literary carrier; Dazai analyzed the heredity and the influences of social means described in atmosphere of his work and the literary aesthetic (spatial) carried out in his narrative techniques. The study developed here points out western interference in Japanese literature, which can be noticed in the inter-textuality of literary works between west and east, that inter-act itself; therefore introduces a narrative related to spatial aesthetic in the Setting Sun which the writer describes the essence of human beings´nature such as: irrational feelings, the emotions, the day-dreams, the cheerfulness and disappointments, inherent in whole human beings, especially in the Japanese society in certain historical time after war.

O objetivo dessa pesquisa foi lançar luz à questão da experiência estética da leitura literária dialógica e seus efeitos para os sujeitos, no âmbito da prática social de clubes de leitura. Para tal, buscou-se compreender como se dá essa experiência, descrever suas características e compreender a influência de seus efeitos na subjetividade e sociabilidade dos leitores e leitoras, procurando revelar como sujeitos comuns a vivenciam no cotidiano. Foi utilizado o método fenomenológico em pesquisa qualitativa aplicado a três grupos de pessoas de ambos os sexos e com idades entre 23 e 52 anos (considerando apenas os participantes fixos), integrantes de três clubes de leitura com perfis e preferências literárias variadas, em funcionamento na capital e região metropolitana de São Paulo. A discussão de resultados foi realizada por meio de um diálogo interdisciplinar entre teóricos da fenomenologia, da antropologia, da estética e da teoria literária. Os achados da pesquisa envolvem questões relativas à peculiar relação das mulheres com a leitura e com a literatura; a possibilidade de ampliação das formas de subjetivação a partir do encontro com o livro e do diálogo com outros leitores e leitoras e a criação de novos espaços de pertencimento propiciados por esses encontros / The aim of this research was to shed light on the question of the aesthetic experience of literary reading and its effects on subjects within the social practice of reading clubs. To do this, we sought to understand how this experience is given, to describe its characteristics and to understand the influence of its effects on the subjectivity and sociability of readers, trying to reveal how common subjects experience it in everyday life. The phenomenological method in qualitative research was applied to three groups of people of both genders and aged between 23 and 52 years (considering only the fixed participants), members of three reading clubs with varied literary profiles and preferences, operating in the capital and metropolitan region of São Paulo. The discussion of results was carried out through an interdisciplinary dialogue between autors of phenomenology, anthropology, aesthetics and literary theory. The findings of the research involve questions related to women\'s peculiar relationship with reading and literature; the possibility of expanding the forms of subjectivation from the encounter with the book and the dialogue with other readers and the creation of new spaces of belonging provided by these meetings

Este trabalho busca reconstruir a visão que Machado de Assis formulou a respeito do trabalho artístico, a fim de analisar o papel da moral em sua estética. Fora m cotejados seus textos de jornal, as críticas de arte e as crônicas, com seus pareceres para o Conservatório Dramático, bem como com determinadas cartas que discutissem obras específicas ou o contexto artístico geral do Brasil. Analisamos o que esses textos analíticos revelavam frente à criação ficcional da juventude, para podermos ler sua ficção mais madura em busca de sinais da teoria que a embasasse, já que o autor passou a escrever cada vez menos cotidianamente sobre arte ou obras alheias. Interessava-nos nisso o reconhecimento de traços que, lidos em relação a um questionamento literário expresso na juventude, poderiam elucidar melhor seu pensamento. Buscamos reconhecer tanto os conceitos que eram utilizados de forma estável, ao longo da obra, quanto quais eram as mudanças daqueles que tiveram seu sentido alterado conforme o autor repensava o meio artístico e o fazer literário. Para analisar seu contexto, detivemo-nos particularmente na imprensa e no teatro, meios que na verdade viviam em relação íntima. Isolamos os conceitos que serviam de base a toda crítica escrita por ele e analisamos como eles estavam relacionados à moral. Para avançar aos últimos anos do escritor, explicitamos a transposição de conceitos formulados em outros gêneros para se pensar o romance e, por fim, analisamos Esaú e Jacó, indicando como a estética engajada de Machado podia ser percebida mesmo no fim de sua obra. / Our goal was to reconstruct Machado de Assis' point of view about the artistic work, to analyze the role of morality in its aesthetics. His newspaper articles (art critics and chronicles) were confronted to his Brazilian Conservatory of Dramatic Arts appraisals, as well as to certain letters analyzing specific works or the general Brazilian artistic context. We have compared what these analytic texts revealed on his early fictional work so we could read his more mature fiction searching for the theory that based it, once the author started writing less and less often about art or other people's works. We were interested in the recognition of characteristics more prominent in his early literary questionings which could elucidate his later line of thoughts. We recognized both the concepts used in a steady way, along his work, and what were the transformations suffered by those concepts that changed as the author reformulated his thoughts about the artistic community and the literary work. To analyze the context we lingered specifically on the press and on the theater, environments which were intimately entangled. We have isolated the concepts that served as base to all his written critics and analyzed how they were related to moral issues. Going to the lat er years of the writer we have made explicit the transposition of concepts formulated in other genres to think about his novels and to end it up we have analyzed Esaú e Jacó, indicating how Machado’s morally engaged aesthetics could be noticed even at the end of his career.
