Jentsch, Annegret 30 October 2015 (has links)

Mythes et fictions en histoire de l'art : histoire de la réception de l'image de Jean Cousin et étude critique des interprétations de l'Eva prima Pandora / Myths and fictions in history of art : history of the reception of the image of Jean Cousin and critical study of the interpretations of the Eva prima Pandora

Faure, Agnès 20 September 2013 (has links)
Jean Cousin has generated various forms of reception, reveling the discursive stakes in the historiographers. Also, the critical analysis of the texts which were produced on the Eva prima Pandora brings to the foreground several problematics inherent to the process of the interpretation of works of art, to the discourse produced on painting. From an incomplete documentary context, which concerns as much the painter as his painting, the authors created revealing fictions of their methodological orientation and of the expectation of their period of expression. We will thus wear a critical look at the mythical construction of the image of the artist that took place in the differents texts devoted to the life and the works of Jean Cousin. In the same way, through the semantic propositions that have been made on the painting, we will highlight the theoretical and the methodological presuppositions of the discurse produced by the interpreters, in order to show the limits of their approach.Leaving of this report, taking into account the differents tracks of reflexion recently opened by the history of art, we will study the Eva prima Pandora by paying our attention to de SEE, to the process of picturial creation, to the nature of intentions of Jean Cousin while painting the Eva prima Pandora.

Challenges Surrounding the Conservation and Replication of Eva Hesse’s Sculpture

Nurmi, Kaela L 01 January 2015 (has links)
The sculpture of German-born American artist, Eva Hesse (1936-1970), presents many conservation challenges. Hesse’s experimentations with latex and fiberglass created stunningly innovative works of art in the late 1960s bringing these unorthodox materials into the world of fine art; but now these materials are creating major conservation problems. Her artwork is an extreme example of the conservation challenges of contemporary art. This thesis examines the challenges surrounding the conservation and replication of Eva Hesse’s large-scale latex and fiberglass sculptures. The latex and fiberglass materials that captivated Hesse are compromising the structural integrity of her large-scale sculptures today. Hesse’s art forces conservators to establish conservation practices specific to modern and contemporary art. Although replication pushes conservators to re-examine their usual practices and violates the standard notion of minimal intervention, the replication of Hesse’s sculptural works is necessary to represent her artistic vision.

以EVA評價模式研究台灣面板業之價值因子 / Based on EVA model to analyse the value driver for TFT-LCD industry

Su, Ku Hsiang Unknown Date (has links)
According to the relevant theses in the past and the special characteristics of the panel industry, I selected six value-creating factors about the global panel industry, including Cash Conversion Cycle, Net Asset Turnover, ASP(Average Selling Price), the Global LCD Market Share Rate, and Sales Return and Allowance to Sales. Meanwhile, I made a regression analysis for the whole panel industry, and consequently obtained the conclusion as following. In terms of the whole panel industry, Net Asset Turnover, and the Global LCD Market Share Rate are the substantial factors in regression analysis. Among them, Net Asset Turnover, and the Global LCD Market Share Rate had positive correlations with EVA.

Two Essays on the Efficiency, Diversification, and Performance of Financial Institutions

Khan, Abu 06 August 2013 (has links)
In the first chapter I investigate the change in operating performance, efficiency and value addition of US bank merger and acquisition after GLBA. I extend the previous research by combining all the previous methodology used in merger literature and added a new methodology namely Expected EVA improvement. I will test whether these performance metrics have similar results or the performance of merger vary depending on the measurements. I will also examine the factors that have significant impact on the change in the banks’ performance. My results show that industry-adjusted operating performance of merged banks increases significantly after a merger.I also find that the acquirer expected EVA improvement increase significantly after the merger. Revenue enhancement opportunity appears to be more profitable if there exist more opportunity for cost cutting such as geographic focus and diversified merger. Product diversification merger increase the industry adjusted performance more than product focused merger. The efficiency or profitability of targets has either positive or no effect change in acquirer performance. In the second chapter I examine how diversifying away from traditional lending activity into noninterest income has affected banks efficiency and value. Does this activity or product diversification affect the bank’s production efficiency and excess value? How does this efficiency translate into excess value for the firm or how excess value increase is related to diversification and efficiency? I find that diversifications significantly reduce the value of banks measured in excess value and vice versa regardless of which measures diversification or excess value I use. Both revenue and asset diversification also significantly reduce all measures of efficiency scores. But the impact of efficiency on diversification is mixed. Only efficiency scores computed based on variable return to scale have negative on revenue diversification and other efficiency scores have no impact on diversifications. I also find that increasing efficiency will increase the excess value of the banks significantly and vice versa. So increasing diversification will reduce the excess value and hence will lower the excess value or BHC with lower diversification will have lower excess value and are more efficient.

Obtainment of nanocelulose from sugar cane bagasse and incorporation in EVA.

Seixas, Marcus Vinicius de Souza 07 December 2018 (has links)
The aim of this work is to evaluate the production of cellulose from sugarcane bagasse, the means of obtaining nanocellulose from cellulose by ultrasonication, as well as the analysis of the properties of the nanocomposite EVA/nanocellulose by studying the physical properties and chemical properties of nanocomposite and pure EVA. Initially, cellulose was obtained from the sugarcane bagasse fibers by means of chemical delignification and bleaching methods. The acid hydrolysis allowed to obtain cellulose nanoparticles in aqueous medium and the sonication method in water / DMF / ethanol solution proved efficient for better control of the size and dispersion of the cellulose nanoparticles. Cellulose nanoparticles were characterized by dynamic light scattering (DLS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and infrared Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) ). The results showed size less than 100nm, crystallinity greater than 70% and thermal decomposition starting at about 185°C for the nanocellulose particles. In the second part of the work, flexible films of: pure EVA, EVA with 1% of nanocellulose and EVA with 3% of nanocellulose were processed. The processed films were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis, mechanical tensile strength test and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The tensile strength data and Young modulus showed an increase in the EVA/NC composite strength values over pure EVA. The EVA/NC composite showed no agglomerated particles. The absence of agglomerates in the composite is related to the mechanical reinforcement given to the processed material.
