This thesis is a process oriented case-study. The studied case is a interactiondesignassignment of a databasevisualisation and the process. The goalis to do this according to the ways of a screenwriter.When the computers spread from the military and university's into homes all around the world the computers and the programs had to becomeeasier for the users to understand and use. User interfacedesign became more and more important and companies like Apple put a lot of resources intothe designprocess. This quite new and evolving area of research, interactiondesign, has been forced to search for methods in other areas like lm, gamedesign, psychology and behavioural science. The area still needs to evolve and keep looking for new methods to bring the area forward.In this thesis the methods of a screenwriter is used in a interaction designwork.The main advantage of the screenwritingprocess might be the focuson the users feelings. This aspect was noted by Adam Connor during his speech at the conference InteractionEleven last year. Though Connor hasn't been writing any articles on this domain, it surely is an interesting aspectthat can help bring interaction deign forward. This thesis proves that it is possible to conduct a interaction designwork according to a screenwriters workingprocess with some advantages compared to common interactiondesignprocess.

Idag finns det mycket litteratur om Autismspektrumtillstånd att läsa, men det mesta är riktat till dem som redan har diagnosen eller föräldrar och bekanta. Det finns även många med AST som själva har skrivit böcker om sin diagnos. Det som saknas är en bok för barn utan AST men som möter barn med AST i vardagen och därför valde vi att skapa en bok om AST för barn. Detta för att barn utan kunskap kanske inte vet hur de ska bemöta sina klasskompisar med diagnosen. På ett lärorikt sätt ska barn utan AST kunna läsa och uppleva boken för att få en ökad förståelse om vad det innebär att ha AST. En bakgrundsstudie genomfördes för att få en ökad förståelse för AST och hur man skriver en barnbok. En webbenkätundersökning genomfördes för att ta reda på människors generella uppfattning och kunskaper om AST. Därefter skapade vi en barnbok för målgruppen 7–9 år med all den bakgrundskunskap vi fick fram. Vi testade vår slutprodukt med klass 3A och 3B på Hälsinggårdsskolan i Falun. De fick själva läsa boken och svara på en enkät med frågor om vad de tyckte om boken och om de hade lärt sig något nytt. Testet av vår bokprototyp visade att målgruppen uppskattade bokprototypen och att de elever som deltog lärde sig något om AST. / Today you can read a lot about Autism spectrum disorder, but most of the literature is for the people that already have the diagnosis or the people around them and some of the books come from people who have the diagnosis themselves. What we think is missing on the market today is a book for children who meet people with ASD in everyday life. Therefore we created a children’s book about ASD. We believe it’s important for children without knowledge to understand their classmates with ASD. In an educational way they should be able to read and understand what it means to have ASD. A background study was made to gain a better understanding of ASD and how to write a children’s book. A survey was also made to find out people’s general perception and knowledge about ASD. After the background study we designed a children’s book for children in the age of 7–9 years. To test our bookprototype we met class 3A and 3B of Hälsinggårdsskolan in Falun. They got to read the book and afterwards they answered questions about what they learned and thought about the book. The test of our bookprototype showed that the audience appreciated the book and that they learned and had a better understanding of people with ASD.

In today’s society, a lot of norm creative books exists. But none of which are made as the one created through this project. To make something be seen as normal through the public eye, you first have to write about it as if it already was seen as normal. This was shown in interviews and a survey. So that is how the book Ensamma i Liberia was made. The book is illustrated, written and layouted by Elina Mikkola in her master thesis at Luleå Technical University in the Graphic design - bachelor degree. In this project, it also got shown just how important cultural patterns can be, not just for individuals, but also for our whole society. This is because of the importance of understanding others and how that help the fight against segregation. / I dagens samhälle existerar det många normkreativa böcker, men ingen likt den som skapats genom detta projekt. För att få någonting att ses som normalt i allmänhetens ögon, så måste man först skriva om det som om det redan var sett som normalt. Detta togs fram genom intervju samt enkät, och är hur boken Ensamma i Liberia är skapt. Boken är illustrerad, författad och layoutad av Elina Mikkola som hennes examensarbete på Luleå Tekniska Universitet i programmet Grafisk design - konstnärlig kandidat. I detta projekt så har det också visats hur viktiga kulturella mönster kan vara, inte bara för individer, men även för samhället i helhet. Detta på grund av den stora vikten i att förstå andra och hur det kan hjälpa till att motverka mot segregation.
