Žemės naudojimo valstybinės kontrolės organizaciniai ir teisiniai aspektai / Organizational and legal aspects of state control of land use

Bražinskaitė, Simona 22 January 2009 (has links)
By the state control of land use one strives to ensure that while managing and using land, the land law and other laws of the Republic of Lithuania related to land use care are obeyed. In order to ensure the appropriate use of land, one has to solve many different problems. The research was carried out in order to find out the problems of state control of land use that prevent from effective control implementation. During the research one analyzed the use of land and legal acts that regulate state control implementation and control implementation work reports of National Land Service under the Ministry of Agriculture and Marijampole county governor’s administration Land Managing Department. The problems that rise while implementing state control of land use in the county of Marijampole were determined by analyzing legal acts, their practical application and work reports of control implementation. During the research one used the analysis of literature sources, alternative search, comparative and evaluation analyses and methods of logical thinking. It was determined that state control of land use that is performed by county governor’s administration is not quite effective and does not encourage using land economically. This can be explained by the lack of competence of officials and their unadjusted functions, i.e. work is performed in other spheres that are not... [to full text]

Root Exploitation of Fertile Soil Microsites

Jackson, Robert B. 01 May 1989 (has links)
Root exploitation of enriched soil microsites was examined for the tussock grasses Agropyron desertorum and Agropyron spicatum and the shrub Artemisia tridentata. Two mechanisms of exploitation of the microsites were examined: root proliferation and changes in nutrient uptake capacity. One day after nutrient solution was applied to small soil patches, the mean relative growth rate of Agropyron desertorum roots in enriched patches was two to four times greater than for roots of the same plants in soil patches treated with distilled water. This rapid and striking root proliferation occurred in response to N-P-K enrichment as well as to P or N enrichment alone. Agropyron spicatum showed no tendency to proliferate roots in enriched soil patches during the two-week experiments. The shrub Artemisia tridentata proliferated roots within one day of initial solution injection in the N-enrichment experiment, but root proliferation of this species was more gradual and less consistent in other experiments. The ability of Agropyron desertorum partly explain its to proliferate superior ability roots to rapidly may exploit soil nutrients compared to Agropyron spicatum in Great Basin rangelands of North America. Changes in nutrient uptake capacity in enriched soil patches were also studied for each species. rapid changes in uptake capacity of plant roots Large and from the field were observed after creation of nutrient-rich patches in the soil. Phosphate uptake of excised roots from enriched soil patches was roots of control patches as much as 80% greater than for treated with distilled water. These increases in uptake capacity took place within one week of patch treatment for all three species. A follow-up experiment showed increases within three days of patch treatment. These results showing rapid physiological plasticity in roots exploiting nutrient patches have important implications for nutrient belowground competition among plants.

In the first experiment, five levels of vitamin E (0.0, 25.0, 35.0, 45.0 and 55.0 mg) were diluted in 0.5 mL of sunflower oil and in the second experiment five levels were used of cantaxanthin (0.000, 0.035, 0.045, 0.055 and 0.065 mg) obtained from a commercial product (canthaxanthin 10%), diluted with 0.5 mL of distilled water. In both experiments were used 780 eggs, distributed in three incubators (block), 260 eggs in each. Vitamin E supplementation improved egg hatchability, lower birth rate of chicks and better physical quality of chicks. There was also a positive response in the small intestine weight and villus height of the duodenum of the chicks, which provided improvement in feed conversion for all the periods studied during the performance. The results of protein concentration in the liver and striated muscle were higher for the chicks that received vitamin E. It was concluded that vitamin E supplementation in ovo improves the oxidative state of the chick and this improves the incubation results, quality of the chick and performance in the initial phase. On the other hand, supplementation with the commercial product of canthaxanthin showed worsening for the hatching and birth window variables, with a consequent increase in the number of neonatal chicks with physical quality below 71 points. Supplementation of canthaxanthin did not influence the weight or length of neonatal chicks. Furthermore, it was possible to verify a higher amount of total proteins in the liver of the chicks supplemented with the commercial product of canthaxanthin, it was also possible to verify improvement in the catalase activity present in the chicks liver. It can be concluded that the commercial product is not indicated for inoculation in ovo because it contains compounds that hinder chicks hatching. However, the improvement in oxidative status was evident, and further studies could be indicated with the use of pure canthaxanthin in ovo for broiler chickens. A System Approach to Fission-Fusion Symbiosis

Gordon, Charles William 04 1900 (has links)

Three symbiotic systems are considered. These include the possibility of coupling the tritium production in a fission reactor with the fertile conversion in a fusion blanket. Equations for the fuel dynamics, power output, efficiency and costs of a symbiotic, selfcontained power station are developed and evaluated for a specific, 1500 MWe fission reactor operating on a thorium cycle and some fusion parameters. It is concluded that a system using the tritium produced in a fission reactor has lower costs and increased power output when compared to an alternate system.
/ Thesis / Master of Engineering (MEngr)

Recent archaeological discoveries are demanding new theoretical approaches for a better understanding of the archaic. Therefore, this work, in religious studies and in philosophy of history, integrates an overarching discussion on cultural and religious formation in archaic contexts. In the light of recent discoveries, the so-called religious symbolisms have been placed in a prominent position. It has now become impossible to ignore the central role of the religious symbolisms in the making of the archaic institutions. A deep understanding of the religious mindset which generated the most significant mechanisms and structures of the pre-historic past is key to enlighten the generative processes of culture and hominization. The theory of mimetic desire meets the new archaeological data in order to suggest more accurate formulations on the institutional developments which went through the pre-historical times, creating the structures and practices responsible for the emergence of urban life in highly developed civilizational environments. These processes highlight the sacred as a fundamental historical and anthropological matrix. Therefore, the movements and transformations of the sacred in the interior of the archaic institutions was a key factor for the creation of life modalities and institutions increasingly complex / O avanço da arqueologia e dos conhecimentos em pré-história nas últimas décadas colocou em xeque teorias e formulações que se propunham a elucidar a chamadas estruturas formadoras.
