"Det Vackra Våldet" : slagsmålskoreografi i animerad film / "The Beautiful Brawl" : Fight Choreography in Animated MoviesKirsten, Mattias January 2013 (has links)
My purpose with this thesis has been to find out how to choreograph a fight sequence in ananimated movie. With the help of professional stuntmen and dancers, I have tried to findmethods and techniques used on stage and in live-action film and apply those to animatedfilms. To successfully identify the techniques used, I conducted a number of interviews andanalyzed literature that deals with the subject of fight choreography. By the analysis of themethods provided by the choreographers and selected parts of the literature, I have compiled anumber of steps I recommend 3D animators should to take in their efforts to create their ownfight choreography.

In order to do so, the analysis of the discourse produced by the boards of students in their print materials was employed. The concept of youth was approached from the perspective of various authors. The Globalization phenomenon and its consequences to political action were taken into account to contextualize the student militancy in the 1990s. It is pertinent to say that the student movement is a type of youth organization, which is distinguished by its ideological dimension and political exercise. Although the rituals that characterize the movement still remain, the public demonstrations are in transformation, in accordance with the demands of the historical moment. Actions aimed at recruiting militants and maintaining the hegemony in the boards of students were observed. However, the leaders deny adopting such strategies. For the militants, in the past and in the present, despite the recurrence of the âcrisisâ discourse, the student movement is a fertile territory to cultivate the utopia of social change and its âreinventionsâ.

Anjos, Gilson Luiz dos January 2012 (has links)
This work researches the issue of blackness in Taquari Valley seeking to understand how the struggle of blacks in this space, in search of dignity and autonomy can be a key element to understand dynamics and broader social logics such as prejudice, ways of being, local vocations, and have unfolds inclusively in the contemporaneity. Introduction to XidML 3.0 An Open XML Standard for Flight Test Instrumentation DescriptionCooke, Alan, Herbepin, Christian 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2010 Conference Proceedings / The Forty-Sixth Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 25-28, 2010 / Town and Country Resort & Convention Center, San Diego, California / A few years ago XidML was introduced as an open XML standard for capturing the meta-data associated with flight test instrumentation (FTI). This meta-data schema was broken down into elements for Parameter (name, range, units, offset-binary), Instrument (name, serial number, misses-to loss), Package (bits per word, words per minor-frame, rate) and Link (name, type) and so on. XidML remains one of the only published schema for FTI meta-data and with XidML 3.0 many simplifications have been introduced along with support for nested tree structures and a single instrument schema allowing anyone to define the validation for instruments from any vendor. This paper introduces the XidML schema and describers the benefits of XidML 3.0 in particular. It begins by giving a brief description of what XidML is and describes its history and motivation. The paper then outlines the main differences between XidML-3.0 and earlier versions, and how the XidML schema has been further refined to meet the challenges faced by the FTI community. As an example of usage the FTIManager software developed at Eurocopter will be briefly presented in order to illustrate the XidML ability to describe a multi-vendor FTI configuration.

”I’m wondering if another woman is really the answer I need” : En tematisk studie av mannen, kvinnan och konsumtionskulturen i Chuck Palahniuks Fight ClubThornström, Lasse January 2006 (has links)
<p>The aim of this paper is to answer three questions about Chuck Palahniuks novel Fight Club. The three questions were chosen because they were widely debated after the release of David Fincher screenplay based on the same book. The questions are: Is the critique on consumerculture offered in Fight Club valid? What does Fight Club say about the relation between man and woman? Can the work be considered fascist? The critique against consumer culture is found valid and not a disguised complaint about the feminization of society. The main female character Marla is vital for Jack as a blueprint for Tyler. Tyler and Marla are found much alike. The fascist tendencies are present in Tylers character but he can be seen as the protagonist Jacks created father. In the course of Jacks struggle for independence Tyler is doomed to be defeated, so the fascist attitudes can’t be said to be represented by Fight Club as a whole.</p>

The Evolution of Consumerism's Influence on Masculinity: The Gallant, Fop and MetrosexualDarr, Andrew Michael 01 May 2012 (has links)
This thesis discusses the influence of consumption on masculinity beginning in the early modern period of the English Restoration through the twenty-first century. Specifically, this thesis investigates the male figures known as the gallant, the fop and the metrosexual, which are found in the Renaissance, Restoration and twenty-first century respectively. Each figure embodied his society's fears about the effect of consumerism on masculinity by openly wearing sumptuous clothing and practicing "effeminate" behavior. A product of the developing early consumer society, the gallant of the Renaissance was widely and harshly chastised for his dress and behavior. Because mass consumerism was so new in the early modern period, the gallant was able to utilize consumption to express social dissidence and to defy class and gender. Writers such as Thomas Dekker, Philip Stubbes and Barnabe Riche rejected the gallant, but their rejection only served to fuel his subversive behavior. The fop built upon the foundation laid by the gallant and found wider acceptance in the Restoration despite the fact he was still mocked by Restoration society. The fop embodied the specific changes in consumption in the Restoration such as a greater influx of international trade through an excessive adoption of French dress and behavior. I first define the fop through George Etherege's Man of Mode. Then, by comparing William Wycherley's The Country Wife to William Shakespeare's All's Well that End's Well, I distinguish the fop's reception in the Restoration from the gallant's in the Renaissance. The metrosexual was the culmination of the impact of five hundred years of consumerism upon masculinity, and as such did not face rejection by society. Instead, metrosexuality embodies the pervasiveness of consumer-mediated masculinity in the twenty-first century. While some members of contemporary society still struggle to recognize the performative nature of gender identity, instead choosing to cling to the notion that masculinity is in "crisis," the metrosexual openly embraces gender performativity by consuming different products in order to maintain his male gender identity. As a result of metrosexuality masculinity is subsumed under consumerism and all forms of male identity become products to be purchased at will. Chuck Palahniuk tries to envision a world wherein consumerism no longer has any influence over masculinity in Fight Club, but he is ultimately unable to break masculinity away from consumerism because of the powerful bond that had been formed over a half a millennia. Ultimately masculinity is found to be dependent upon consumption, and the days when the male identity could exist apart from consumerism have long since departed. The gallant, the fop and the metrosexual each faced individual challenges, but in the end demonstrate the unbreakable and subversive bond between consumerism and masculinity.
