The sports journalism chose how to produce and allocate the content for the women's and men's Swedish national football teams during a championship. The media mediate an unjustified reality that people perceive as the real reality. They do not reflect the real reality but chose what to mediate and produce. The purpose of the survey is to find out how the gender representation is perceived between the women's and men's national football team during the World and European Championships group play periods in the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet and Dagens Nyheter. The thesis examines how much attention each national team gets during their championships. Furthermore, we examine what similarities and differences exist in the production of the women's and men's national team. In order to answer the two questions of the study, a combination of two methods is applied. The first question of the study is answered through quantitative content analysis and the second question is answered through a qualitative discourse analysis, which follows up the quantitative method and makes an in-depth analysis of the discourses. The study is based on framing theory, gender theory and media, which indicates that the media possess power in how they allocate and shape their content for men, women and their representations. The results of the survey show that the men's national team is allocated more attention during their championships compared to the women's national team. The result shows that men are over-represented in sports journalism, which confirms the previous research that the study presented. The discourses show that men and women in the national teams are presented differently where the men are usually referred to as a team and a unit while the women are mentioned as individuals and less about the team. The thesis also shows that women are presented in a more negative sense compared to men, where journalism usually takes positive aspects despite adversity for the men. The discourse is also characterized by the fact that the national teams have the same task of representing Sweden but that the women's and men's national team are nevertheless presented differently in that sense. The conclusion is that the Swedish national team is overrepresented in media and that the gender representation distinguishes the national law.

Darbo tikslas - nustatyti vidinės komunikacijos raišką profesionalioje futbolo komandoje „Alytis“. Darbo uždaviniai: pateikti profesionalios futbolo komandos kaip šiuolaikinės sporto organizacijos sampratą, išanalizuoti vidinės komunikacijos sampratą, atkreipiant dėmesį į jos įtaką komandos rezultatams, nustatyti profesionalių futbolo komandų narių gebėjimus efektyviai komunikuoti ir pateikti profesionalių futbolo komandų narių tarpasmeninės komunikacijos įgūdžius. The hypothesis of this thesis – that the internal communication within the professional football team governs the team members’ interpersonal relations. The tasks of this thesis: give the understanding of the football team as the contemporary sports organization, analyze the conception of the internal communication, concentrating attention on its influence to the team’s results, identify the ability of team members to communicate in an effective way and give their skills of the internal communication. Vliv medializovaných událostí na ceny akcií fotbalových klubů / The influence of publicized events on price of football teams

This thesis analyzes the influence of publicized events on stock price of football teams. For this, event study method and regression model was used. Publicized events were significant win in competitions or corruption scandal in Italian football. This thesis found out, that some events influence investor behavior, for example corruption scandal in Italian football or FC Porto win in Champions league final. Efficient market hypothesis was not disprove. Furthermore, it was found that fans -- investors respond to the results of his team, especially surprising wins and goal difference. Higher volume of stocks is traded in the season than out of season.

Women have been marginalised in societies around the world, and the world of sports isno exception. The aim of this study was to examine in the swedish newspapersAftonbladet and Expressen the differences and similarities between female and malesports journalists' publications in the coverage about the swedish national footballteams. The used method for this study was a quantitative content analysis, which wasthe most usable method to give us an answer to our question at issue. The theoreticalframework in the study included news values as a theory, a framing theory, a feministmedia theory and a gender contract theory. The results implies that female sportsjournalists tend to write more about the swedish female national football team and thatmale sports journalists tend to write more about the swedish male national footballteam.

Dalkurd : Ett fotbollslag mellan det lokala och transnationella

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how the football team Dalkurd act locally and transnationally through their identifications, relationships and activities with other actors with whom the footballsteam interacts. The study has also focused on the tensions that arise between the local Dalkurd and transnational Dalkurd. Theoretical starting points are based on the transnational perspective, which is important in order to understand how a football team like Dalkurd act through his activities, identifications and relationships. The second theoretical perspective is based on the social networks 'importance for the football clubs' culture and local identity, which is important for understanding the local identity based on Swedish club culture. The methodological approach of the study is based on case studies with qualitative focus. The empirical material consists of a large number of media texts in the form of existing interviews and reports published in newspapers, radio and television. Also materials from web-based websites, and other social media. The result shows that Dalkurd has, through his activities, social relations and belongings and also symbols created transnational identity, and the association has also created local identifications even that these are relatively limited. The study's results showed that the football team has created a triadic relationship in the form of "transnational social space" between a football association in the form of Dalkurd, the country of hostland Sweden and the home country Kurdistan. / Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur fotbollslaget Dalkurd verkar lokalt respektive transnationellt genom sina identifikationer, relationer och aktiviteter med andra aktörer som fotbollsföreningen interagerar med. Studien har även fokuserat på de spänningar som uppstår mellan det lokala Dalkurd och transnationella Dalkurd. Teoretiska utgångspunkter bygger på det transnationella perspektivet som är viktigt för att kunna förstå hur ett fotbollslag som Dalkurd verkar genom sina aktiviteter, identifikationer och relationer. Det andra teoretiska perspektivet bygger på de sociala nätverkens betydelse för fotbollsklubbarnas kultur och lokala identitet vilket är viktig för att förstå den lokala identiteten utifrån svensk klubbkultur. Studiens metodologiska ansats bygger på fallstudier med kvalitativ inriktning. Det empiriska materialet består av ett stort antal mediatexter i form av befintliga intervjuer och reportage publicerade i tidningar, radio och tv. Även material från webbaserade hemsidor, och andra sociala medier har tagits med. Resultatet visar att Dalkurd genom sina aktiviteter, sociala relationer samt tillhörigheter och symboler har skapat en transnationell identitet men föreningen har också skapat lokala identifikationer även att dessa är relativ begränsade. Studiens resultat visade att fotbollslaget har skapat ett triadisk förhållande i form av ”transnational social space” mellan en fotbollsförening i form av Dalkurd, bosättningslandet Sverige och hemlandet Kurdistan.

Landslaget vinner – rationaliteten försvinner? : En studie av fotbollslandskampers påverkan på olika aktieindex

Purpose The purpose of this study is to investigate whether abnormal return patterns can occur on different share indices, as a result of the outcome in national team matches. The subordinary aim is to investigate whether there are differences between the three share indices, (small-, mid- and large cap) depending on the match category and how it relates regarding the five countries in the study. Method This study has a positivistic and deductive approach, using a modified event study methodology. The event period is one day after the event. For each nation, year and share index, different estimation periods have been created. The study comprises 760 national team football matches and is investigating how each different share index is affected by match outcomes in championship matches, qualifying matches and friendlies. Results Upon compilation of all 760 matches, the result of this study shows a statistically significant impact on two of the three possible match outcomes, regarding small cap index. Furthermore the result also shows a connection between friendly matches and small cap index. The match categories championship matches and qualifying matches demonstrates no connection to the three diffrent kind of share indices. Regarding the different nations, Spain and their small- and large cap index shows the most significant connection between the match outcome and abnormal return. Conclusions The small cap share index is basically the only index that is affected by the all the matches that is involved in this study (after a victory or a loss). The magnitude of a match does not seem to have a greater influence on investor rationality. Over all, the match outcome draw does not lead to negative abnormal return. Of this studys five surveyed countries (England, France, Spain, Sweden and Germany), the english and german share indicies seems to be least likley to be affected by the outcome in national team football matches.

The work takes the publications of the JN as an empirical sample during the week of the matches of the Brazilian National Football Team, in the period between June and November of 2008. Starting from the theoretical assumption that the identities (such as conceptualized in the tradition of cultural studies) are symbolic and narrative phenomena, we seek to identify which speeches are triggered by the broadcasting and through the methodologies of content analysis and speech analysis, pointing to the emphasis on the supposed qualities typical of brazilian soccer, treated as the embodiment of narrative dimensions associated with national identity.
