No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2016-07-26 / This paper proposed a research to understand what is the therapeutic setting and how it influences the process with children from the Gestalt therapists experience. We conducted a literature review of the last ten years in the major databases in order to verify the relationship of the setting from the Gestalt therapy and environmental psychology on the scarcity of materials we propose a dialogue between Gestalt therapy and Environmental Psychology with in order to list the contributions of environmental psychology to the understanding of the concept of setting. In this way the data were collected through narrative interviews with three gestalt therapists psychologists serving children in different settings, so by triggering question could make a construction of what would be the therapeutic setting based on experience, as it is a widely used term but without a proper conceptualization. Respondents dialogued bringing the setting as physical space and also psychic built through the therapeutic relationship that unfolded into several categories discussed by visions both of Gestalt Therapy as the Environmental Psychology, braiding a conceptual dialogue which begins with the thought field brought by Kurt Lewin first link between the two theories and practice of psychological make the clinic also thought this dialogical process between the approaches that different from other, complement each other bringing greater wealth to think about being with the other in one place.

This work, that have a theoretical and clinical nature, aimed to establish reflections about how Gestalt Therapy (GT) may be an approach in the care of psychosis. Despite the few studies on this topic within the GT, it was claimed that the phenomenological-existential basis can be beneficial because it focus on the immediate experience and to have the clinic focused on the resumption of spontaneous contact, increased awareness and reconnection with the field. In addition, gives the importance to the totality of experience as a spatio-temporal, seeking the continuum between healthy functioning and unhealthy. The starting point was the theoretical imprecision of psychosis in the literature and as the care provided is organized, defined and oriented by what is thought to be this phenomenon. And as such, is part of the understanding of serious psychological distress, more existential, concrete, intersubjective and relational than just symptomatic Also, such deconstructions are necessary to make the understanding of how the GT comprehends psychoses, which is different of psychiatric and psychoanalytic constructs. The theories and GT base philosophies was critically revisited, questioning the foundation for the discussion of its own psychopathology. The person is seen as a field organism/environment and psychosis experience is inscribed as an imbalance of the figure/ground process and the break this unity, characterized as the annihilation of part of the reality of what is being given in experience. The gestalt clinic is guided by the value given to the immediate experience, which values and legitimizes the lived experience through postures of presence, encounter, inclusion and confirmation in the therapist-client relationship, in which the therapist is involved in the process. The aim is to give attention to the relational field, the creation of a secure and stable environment so that progressively, along with differentiation, contact boundary can be recognized and contacts can be carried out spontaneously. This objective, also, the creation of a secure background; the creative differentiation, especially in recognition of the contact boundary and subjectivity; the perception of time and space as categories that guide and give rhythm to the self; the search for a clear and distinct perception of one's needs; the development of creative adjustment. It concludes that it is possible to construct a theoretical knowledge about this phenomenon using the gestalt theory, in an effective resumption of phenomenology-existentialism assumptions and not just import categories and foreign understandings. In addition, it emphasizes the importance of strengthening unity by theory and practice gestalt, which can not be dissociated from a logical epistemological understanding and a solid foundation, because it directs the vision about person and the world.

Gestalt-therapy is shown from its origin, including a biography of Fritz Perls, where the influence of other approaches in his mind is evinced. The philosophic presuppositions are highlighted trying to relate some central concepts of phenomology and existencialism with Gestalt-therapy. A brief introduction on the basic theoretical pressuppositions was inserted, to help a better understanding of the approach as a whole. The therapeutic attitude is investigated supported on man's vision revealed in the philosophic essentials. It finishes whith some critical considerations on Gestalt-therapy. This analysis leads to the following inferences which refer to the therapeutic line focused. Philosophically it is based on man's existencialist vision which appraised existence, subjectivity and singularity, letting pain, anguish and suffering emerge. It ascertains that there is no human nature. Man is an interrelational being and his innermost essence is mistery. Human being only reveals himself in freedom; he is responsible for his choices. The therapeutic attitude adopted is phenomenologic¬ existential. The therapeutic situation phenomena are seen free from any 'a priori'. The therapist keeps up with the client's conscience flow trying to understand what is being unveiled to him and enthrall its meaning. - A atitude terapêutica adotada fenomenológica existencial.

The method developed by professor Jorge Ponciano Ribeiro, PhD, Short Term Gestalt Therapy, stands out among the authors of brief psychotherapies proposals by a singularity: while these conceptions are wholes focal almost working directly the symptom appears, the procedure outlined by Ribeiro doesn't look just what more suffering brings to person, but, instead, takes the individual as a whole and makes it the center of a psychotherapeutic action. This case study applied the method of Ribeiro in an adult and voluntary, with significant demand in the area of mental health, in order to assess, through the account of the subject of research, changes produced. The method Gestalt Therapy short-lived proposes taking the customer to the consummation of himself, so that he can express himself and, to express himself, unfolding in the sense of who he is. Ten sessions of 2 hours each were carried. The customer can try, taking consciousness (awareness) when does a genuine contact with the world and when you'd rather elect figures that confirm the symptoms that emerged during the sessions.

Granzotto, Rosane Lorena January 2005 (has links)
Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas. Programa de Pós-Graduação em Filosofia / Made available in DSpace on 2013-07-16T02:42:31Z (GMT). Gestalt Therapy is a motion of psychotherapeutic intervention which regards itself fundamented in a gestaltic reading of the freudian metapsychology on one hand , and a phenomenological interpretation of Gestalt Psychology on the other. Perls, Gestalt's chief mentor, referred to these fundaments as a sort of "Gestalt philosophy" somewhat developed in the work "Gestalt Therapy" , 1951, with collaborators Paul Goodman and Ralph Hefferline. This dissertation is aimed at axamining such philosophy which, in the first place, implies in an investigation of the genesis of the concepts it holds, as well as the way these concepts are chiefly articulated in that work terms. The first chapter is a survey on the origin of the psychological application of the notion of "Gestalt", which brings us the way "Gestalt philosophy" - in its first generation - reads and applies a husserlian notion of transcendent intentional object. The second chapter is Husserl's view of such applications, which he consideres to be "naturalizing", as well as his proposal of reduction of phenomenology in the transcendental philosophy environment, demonstrating which way - due to this reduction - the second generation of Gestalt Psychology begins to apply the notion of "gestalt" less as a fixed structure and more as a self-regulating field. We also discuss which way this field notion comes out in the theory which most directly contributed to the construction of the " Gestalt philosophy", that is, Goldstein's organismic theory. On the third chapter we comment how - out of Goldstein's organismic theory - Perls proposes a new gestaltic reading of Freud's metapsychology, and in what sense this new reading demands a philosophical investigation as for the goldsteinian notion of organismic intentionality. It is presented on the fourth chapter the phenomenological invesgigation which Perls and Goldstein make of the notion of organismic intentionality. On the fifth and last chapter we, finaly, describe the outcome of this investigation, which is the theory of the self, most important piece of "Gestalt philosophy" announced by Perls.

Acolhimento e cuidado : a gestalt-terapia diante do sofrimento psíquico

Ramos, Thaís Carneiro Costa 03 August 2018 (has links)
The advances in the treatment in mental health are great and promising, aiming at the humanization of the reception and treatment of the psychic suffering. In Brazil and in the world, health professionals who dedicate themselves to this intervention are forced to insert respect and love for the human in their daily professional practice. However, even though they directed efforts in this direction, that of accompanying human suffering, historically underlay the imprecision about what would, in fact, be the 'disease' that was being treated from the diagnosis of 'psychosis'. Thousands of people with various psychic sufferings, in addition to stigma, were hospitalized or excluded, if not subjected to dehumanizing and alienating treatments. In order to try to minimize the impact of the "preconceptions" introduced by classical psychiatry, the term to be used in this study, "severe psychic distress", is a construct that will give us the freedom to discuss intense crises of "normal" or " psychotic ', dealing with what is inherent in the human: the crisis. Traditionally, Gestalt therapy is associated with therapeutic practice grounded in the ethics of care, which includes unreserved delivery of the therapist in relation to the patient. Having been originally inspired by the philosophies of Humanism, Existentialism, Dialogical Existentialism and Phenomenology, this clinical practice has taken shape with studies carried out by Gestalt Psychology, Field Theory, Organismic Theory and Holism. From the origin to the present, Gestalt therapy has shown itself to be dynamic and active in the understanding and care of the human from its various angles, thus showing itself capable of realizing healthy and expansive creative adjustments in the ascending evolutionary direction. Although the clinical practice based on Gestalt therapy is widespread, we need greater academic and theoretical production that assures contributions to the scientific community, allowing greater access to knowledge on the part of gestalt therapists and patients. This is the pertinence of a study that brings to the fore the theoretical and practical constructs of Gestalt therapy - as imagined by its early authors and developed by its precursors - associated with the reception and care required when the manifestation of the phenomenon of severe psychic suffering occurs. Understanding also how Gestalt-therapy elaborates the phenomenon of psychosis in its theoretical and practical context. Thus, this theoretical-clinical work - predominantly theoretical - has the objective of approaching the concepts of acceptance and care with severe psychic suffering, analyzing the symptoms in a critical way as much as possible, potentializing the study of the course and progress of this area of knowledge , besides illustrating with vignettes of clinical cases, interventions and therapeutic actions performed within the context of research of the Early Intervention Group in the First Crises of Psychotic Type (GIPSI).

O corpo na gestalt-terapia : um diálogo com Jean-Paul Sartre / The Body in Gestalt Therapy: A Dialogue with Jean-Paul Sartre (Inglês)

Melo, Daniel Marcio Pereira 03 September 2014 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2019-03-29T23:54:38Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 0 Previous issue date: 2014-09-03 / Being a humanist, existential and phenomenological perspective, gestalt therapy proposes a conception of man guided on the freedom to be and also the facticity of existence, living mainly through his body. If man has no essence a priori, but it makes existence from his freedom to be, according to Sartre's existential phenomenology, this happens every day, in every choice, and reveals itself, objectively, in a body that is, in fact, here now, marked by historically constructed meanings in a particular culture. So, too, is in the body that one can find the culture and the senses to which the person was exposed and she attributed herself. The body is then the means by which occur manifestations of human existence; is the man existing in a particular place, a particular culture and at a particular time. In this sense, reflect on the construction of representations of the body and psychotherapeutic practices in contemporary and, more precisely, on working with the body in gestalt therapy is a worthy goal within a phenomenological perspective, which treats of man in situation. So, discuss the work with the body in gestalt therapy from a dialogue with the existential phenomenology of Jean-Paul Sartre is the goal of this work. It is a literature review on the topic in the gestalt approach and a dialogue with the conception of the body present in Sartre's existentialist ontology. Is in existential phenomenology sartreana that one can find an approach of the body situated in the world, without, however, ceasing to be a project. In it, find the man in situation, moving in a context of world that is meant for his action. If gestalt therapy is a phenomenological approach, the Sartrean lens can clarify this practice, especially if is considered that Sartre discusses the basic theories of this psychotherapeutic approach. 8 Keywords: Body. Gestalt therapy. Existential phenomenology. Sartre. / Elbows staying on the parapet of the word: in the clinical scene, what is the horizon

Loffredo, Ana Maria 05 June 1992 (has links)
This work concernes the relationships between Gestalt Therapy and Psychoanalysis, wich is one of the most important sources presented in the body of influences that originated its formation. Taking into account the return of great part of contemporary Gestalt Therapy to the psychoanalytic frame of reference, that relationship is posed as a central question. The integration field, presented here, is articulated around the question of language in Gestalt Therapy and the question of proximity between the poetic discourse, and the discourse produced in the therapeutic process. In order to better deal with this theme methodological instruments are presented. They characterize either the therapeutic action in the Gestalt Therapy as well as the methodological procedure wich constitute the psychoanalytic doctrine and technique

Paul Goodman was a writer, literary critic, psychotherapist, political critic, and later (from the 1960s) a fierce critic of traditional education models and one of the leading names in unschooling, being an activist on the movement against the compulsory schooling. Because of this range of themes, Goodman had his debates through anthropology, education, psychoanalysis, philosophy, psychology, and several other areas. Goodman produced a Gestalt reading of experience that was fundamental in building his clinical, political, and educational perspectives. Thus, the aim of this thesis is to characterize in Paul Goodman's work the validity of a model of description and understanding of experience which characterizes a Gestalt ontology, which means: a model in which experience is described as a whole of different dimensions And which have no synthesis between them. Secondly, to show that Gestalt's ontological sense served as the basis for Paul Goodman's critique of the political, clinical, and educational models of his time. Goodman, from his earliest writings, pointed to the importance of a deep reflection on human nature to ground his political debates. As a reader of John Dewey, Goodman understood that political reflection for a democratic society and the impact of coercive institutions on individuals' lives necessarily needed an elucidation of the foundations of human nature. However, apart from Dewey, it is Freud's and Freudian psychoanalysis (especially in W. Reich's ideas) that Goodman will seek to answer this question. It was in the 1950s, when he wrote the theoretical tome of the book Gestalt Therapy, co-signed with Frederick Perls and Ralph Hefferline, that Goodman tries to think of an ontological model that is produced from a digression about his pragmatist, psychoanalytic and phenomenological influences. Its purpose was to think of an anarchic ontology, which could conceive the processes of creation, without the need of a dogmatic, genetic or teleological resource. Human nature is this gestalt whole which, despite of what is constituted, always enables a place of creation. Human nature, for Goodman, is precisely this residue that produces, from biology and society, a space of differentiation and creation. The name that Goodman will give to this process of creation, that is, to human nature, is theory of self. This is because, being inserted within the psychoanalytic and neopsychoanalytic context of the USA, and mainly being responsible for the foundations of a new psychotherapeutic approach, Goodman tried to think a theory of the self, however, without falling into the psychological traps in which his contemporaries had Succumbed. Thus, in constructing a gestalt-based theory of experience, Goodman succeeds in substantiating his political, educational, and clinical proposals in a non-dogmatic way. This is because Gestalt Therapy's purpose is to explore the foundations of experience, but also the effects of bureaucratization and coercion on human experience. Thus, Goodman manages to think a clinic that has as purpose the reception to the difference (the Gestalt-therapy); A policy that problematizes the devitalisation and social apathy experienced by individuals (anarchy) and the role of school as an instrument for the domestication of bodies in bureaucratic logic.

______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The study proposes to investigate and describe the scenario of Gestalt Therapy with children in Brazil, from the survey of the theoretical production, here delimited in articles and books, and the look of protagonists, authors and practitioners in this area. Secondly, it has the purpose of cataloging the theoretical national production with this approach, identifying its protagonists, describing the current situation of the productions by detecting gaps and perspectives in this approach, in order to understand the theoretical development of this guideline. It appears as a qualitative research of descriptive character, taking advantage of the use of semi-structured interview, electronic questionnaire and bibliometric review. The Bibliometrics is a technique that allows the measurement of production and describes aspects of literature. It comprises four main steps: 1. cataloguing of theoretical production; 2. identification and interview with the protagonists (those that accounted for the largest number of works); 3. application of electronic questionnaire in the authors identified by a publication; and 4. application of electronic questionnaire in the professionals of children's Gestalt Therapy that have never published. Data was analyzed from the categorical thematic content analysis, building categories from the themes present in the speech. There were cataloged, in all, 48 productions, of which 6 books and 42 articles over the 34 years since the date of that first work catalogued (1980) until the end of the research (2014). This production is concentrated mainly in the Southeast and Central parts of the country, although all Brazilian regions account for publications. The data shows a shy and unstable growing of theoretical production in Brazil, directed mainly to theoretical bases of Gestalt Therapy, with emphasis on the Field Theory of Kurt Lewin. A qualitative understanding encompassed the main themes expressed by the participants of the study, from which the following categories emerged: 1. the first productions in Brazil; 2. the current scenario of Brazilian literature; 3. gaps and theoretical perspectives; 4. what children's Gestalt-therapists read; 5. motivations and challenges of publishing; 6. the particularities of the child care. We are able to conclude that the research in Gestalt therapy with children walks slowly , given their little tradition of publishing , the result of historical heritage dichotomy between theory and practice, pointing to the importance of integrating them as a means of contributing to the progress of literature. Furthermore, it stands out as a future perspective the challenge of thinking of Brazilian children of the 21st century, to reflect on their current demands and on the consequent implications of these demands in the psychotherapeutic process.
