Les Français et l’archéologie au Royaume de Naples pendant le Decennio francese (1806-1815) : l’exemple des découvertes de céramique antique / The French connoisseurship and Archeology in the Kingdom of Naples during the French Decade (1806-1815) : an example of the discoveries of ancient painted vases / I Francesi e l’archeologia nel Regno di Napoli durante il Decennio francese (1806-1815) : l’esempio delle scoperte di ceramica antica

Le Bars-Tosi, Florence 25 October 2014 (has links)
Dealing with the relationships between the French connoisseurship and the Kingdom of Naples in building of one of the most modern archeological policies in Europe under Joseph Bonaparte and Joachim Murat's reigns, this doctorate takes a part in several fields of research in History (political and cultural), Art History and Archeology. It makes us look at the Antiquity through the prism of the XIX Century, trying at the same time to answer today’s questions of Art History about the archeological proveniences and the faith of the vases discovered in those years. In front of the large number of archeological discoveries made during the French Decade, we choose to focus our research on ancient painted vases. This homogeneous corpus leads us back to the discoveries and the history of archeological sites in the south of Italy during the years 1806-1815 by exploring ancient and unpublished archives. Their systematic sorting gives new information on the History of excavations, allowing us to find out the lost provenance of ancient vases, today conserved in several museums in Europe. With this original sources crossing, we aimed at offering a more complete vision of Naples during the French Decade by broadening the knowledge on the Southern Italian archeological History. Here stands the stake of a study at the confluences of different streams of History, looking at the Antiquity in the mirror of the first years of the XIX Century.

Schön, Michaela Costa 06 November 2006 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 EDM - Michaela C Schon.pdf: 1931458 bytes, checksum: 5cde0886ff87d5dafb588e52ab96ed50 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006-11-06 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This paper aimed the realization of a study concerning the philosophical epistemology of the concept of number, in which it still makes sense to ask: What is number? In this perspective, we have assumed as problematic the philosophical duality of the conceptualizations of numbers, according to Axiomatic (proposed by Peano) e by the Set Theory and Logics (proposed by Russell), being the Conceptualization of Number the problem of this research, concerning the possibility of introducing an ultimate definition to this concept. The focus of this research is in the polemics that exists about the number introduced by Russell (1872-1970) contrary to Piano s (1858-1932), taking as a basis Otte s criticism, introduced in the article: B. Russell Introduction to Mathematical Philosophy , 2001. The research was developed using, as a reference, the sense of Complementarity, as well as using proper qualitative methodological research procedures. As a conclusion, we are able to claim that numbers are: on one hand, characteristics of certain classes and, on the other hand, operative concepts. This way, the existence of polemics between philosophers like Frege and Russell, who have favored predicative aspects, that is, they define number in terms of cardinality and, others like Grassmann, Dedekind and Peano who have highlighted the ordinal numbers, justify Otto s proposition of complementarity between the approaches. The possibility of having cognitive and didactical consequences on the teaching in the use of one or another approach of conceptualization of the number or both, as Otte intends, makes this study a contribution to Mathematical Education / Este trabalho objetivou realizar um estudo sobre a epistemologia filosófica do conceito de número, na qual ainda faz sentido o questionamento: O que é número?

Migliori Ceffalo, Antonio Francesco 08 May 2024 (has links)
This thesis presents Giuseppe Castrucci, Gaetano Osculati and Antonio Raimondi’s approaches to the life, landscapes, and territory of the Amazon region. They were European travelers working in Peru during the 19th Century. My research shows how they produce an imaginary about an exotic Amazonian world through their traveler’s textual and visual productions. They were relevant because of their stories, engravings, watercolors, and maps were known and praised as real portraits of Peruvian wild nature by European public. Although Castrucci, Osculati, and Raimondi share a common exotifying point of view, they also expressed different emphasis and interests on their approaches to the Amazon region as an object of inquiry. In the case of Castrucci, he focused on depicting Amazon’s peoples and customs, that he considered savage and uncivilized. Osculati, in the other hand, was interested in exploring new and exotic places pursuing scientific recognition as a nationalist expeditionary. Finally, Raimondi wanted to inform the public, authorities, and the scientific world about the Amazonian region’s potential to boost Peruvian development. These three travelers’ endeavors flourished in a very specific 19th century context: the growing nationalism that included the use of science to gain prestige through exhibitions, cabinets, scientific associations, and scientific collections.

Handschriftliche Libretti von Domenico Lalli oder: von Neapel über Venedig und Arolsen nach Delhi

Pegah, Rashid-S. 02 July 2020 (has links)
Dresd.Ob.48.e, Ob.48.f, Ob.48.g, Ob.48.ga) und in München. Ausgehend von solchen Textfunden werden Lallis Beziehungen zu Höfen im Heiligen Römischen Reich Deutscher Nation in den Blick genommen.

NUOVE RICERCHE PER LA BIOGRAFIA E LA PRODUZIONE STORIOGRAFICA DI CARLO BIANCONI (1732-1802)

BINDA, LAURA 22 May 2017 (has links)
New information and analysis about Carlo Bianconi’s biography and writings mainly appear from unpublished archival material bare. This work allows to clarify the education of Bianconi, who grew up in a family of bibliophiles and art collectors. He kept abreast of theoretical development of Winckelmann and Mengs, who personally knew and he gradually moved closer and accepted the models of the classicism that was also mediated by the relationship established with Francesco Algarotti, who is here reevaluate. Regarding his two-year period spent in Rome, the relationship with the Cardinal Albani and moreover his trip to Naples, a glimmer is opened, with important implications for his intellectual maturity. Furthermore, there are: the reason regarding the choice of Bianconi as Secretary of the Academy of Brera, his educational initiatives and the relationship with Carlo di Firmian. From time to time, his many correspondents, his figurative works of art and especially his published writings were commented (for example the guide of Bologna and Milan) and his unpublished writings (such as Vitruvius, theoretical writings on the origin of architecture and engraving, orations) are remembered and also the collaboration with the Enciclopedia Metodica of Pietro Zani is reconsidered. Artist, collector, art writer and teacher, immersed in a climate of a Rationalism, he is a early supporter of the new taste for the classic.

Frédéric, Paul 27 November 2008 (has links) (PDF)
